Abstract

The article presents information on the generic assignment of the insect species Ptilophorus wrightii, that belongs to the Coleoptera Ripiphoridae. Ptilophorus wrightii has compound eyes, prothoracic margin, male antennomeres, and ornamentation of the pretarsal claws that separate Toposcopus from Ptilophorus Dejean. Toposcopus wrightii is not found in the primary literature about insects.
