Objective: To investigate the protective effects of Ficus tsiangii extracts on oxidative injuries of endothelial cells by H
2 O2 ,anti-oxidant activity in vitro and anti-platelet aggregation activity. Methods: Endothelial cells were incubated with F. tsiangii extracts for 1 h, and then were exposed to 150 µmol/L H2 O2 for 4 h to induce oxidative injuries. Cell viability was determined by MTT assay. The antioxidant activity of F. tsiangii extracts in vitro was evaluated by a cell-free oxidation reaction. Anti-platelet aggregation activity of F. tsiangii extracts was assayed in the Born turbidimetric method using adenosine diphosphate(ADP) and platelet-activating factor (PAF) as inducers. Results: F. tsiangii extracts could protect endothelial cells from H2 O2 -induced oxidative damages, lower the concentrations of oxidative products and also moderately inhibit platelet aggregation. Conclusion: F. tsiangii extracts might have the effects of protecting endothelial cells from oxidative injuries induced by H2 O2 , and have anti-oxidant and anti-platelet aggregation activities in vitro.
