Purpose: To evaluate the choroidal vascularity index (CVI) in different types of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC), healthy control eyes, and fellow eyes. Methods: Relevant studies published up to January 2023 were identified by searching multiple databases, including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). Studies investigating the difference in CVI between CSC and control eyes were included. Data from these studies were analyzed using Stata (version 17) software. Weighted mean difference (WMD) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) were calculated for the CVI in CSC eyes, control eyes, and fellow eyes. Results: The meta-analysis included 15 studies, with 213 acute CSC eyes, 153 chronic CSC eyes, 92 uncategorized CSC eyes, 40 resolved CSC eyes, 409 eyes of normal healthy controls, and 318 fellow eyes. The result revealed that CVI was higher in acute CSC eyes (WMD = 5.40, 95%CI = 2.36–8.44, P = 0.001) compared to control eyes. Also, CVI in chronic CSC eyes was higher than in control eyes (WMD = 1.26, 95%CI = 0.03–2.49, p = 0.046). The fellow eyes of acute CSC had a higher CVI when compared to control eyes (WMD = 2.53, 95%CI = 0.78–4.28, p = 0.005). There was no significant difference in CVI between acute and chronic CSC eyes (WMD = 0.75, 95%CI = -0.31–1.82, P = 0.167). In the sub-analysis based on the area selected for CVI calculation, the WMDs in the whole image subgroups were lower than the main analysis for the comparisons of fellow eyes of acute CSC and control eyes, acute CSC eyes and control eyes, and acute CSC eyes and fellow eyes. In the macular area subgroups, the WMDs were higher than in the whole image subgroups, suggesting a potential regional variation of CVI in CSC eyes. Conclusions: The results demonstrated that CVI is increased in CSC eyes and fellow eyes of acute CSC. There is no significant difference in CVI between acute and chronic CSC eyes. The integrated energy system (IES) optimal scheduling under the comprehensive flexible operation mode of pumping storage is considered. This system is conducive to the promotion of the accommodation of wind and solar energy and can meet the water, electricity and heat needs of coastal areas far away from the energy center. In this study, the joint dispatch between double pumped storage power stations is used to accommodate wind and solar energy better and smooth their fluctuations on the grid. Through the scheduling of water between the high and low reservoirs of double pumped storage power stations and the reservoir of the seawater desalination plant, the impact of storage capacity constraints on pumped storage power plants is reduced. Moreover, the objective function to build the IES optimization scheduling model is to achieve minimum economic cost. The results reveal that the integrated energy system accommodates all wind energy and solar energy. As such, the system increases the average working time of the pumped storage unit by 1.9 hours and reduces the economic cost by 31.50%. The effective evaluation of the impact of a scholarly article is a significant endeavor; for this reason, it has garnered attention. From the perspective of knowledge flow, this paper extracted various knowledge flow patterns concealed in articles citation counts to describe the citation impact of the articles. First, the intensity characteristic of knowledge flow was investigated to distinguish the different citation vitality of articles. Second, the knowledge diffusion capacity was examined to differentiate the size of the scope of articles' influences on the academic environment. Finally, the knowledge transfer capacity was discussed to investigate the support degree of articles on the follow-up research. Experimental results show that articles got more citations recently have a higher knowledge flow intensity. The articles have various impacts on the academic environment and have different supporting effects on the follow-up research, representing the differences in their knowledge diffusion and knowledge transfer capabilities. Compared with the single quantitative index of citation frequency, these knowledge flow patterns can carefully explore the citation value of articles. By integrating the three knowledge flow patterns to examine the total citation impact of articles, we found that the articles exhibit distinct value of citation impact even if they were published in the same field, in the same year, and with similar citation frequencies. Background and objective: Action observation training (AOT) has been used as a new intervention for improving upper limb motor functions in people with stroke. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to investigate the effects of AOT on improving upper limb motor functions in people with stroke. Methods: We searched ten electronic databases to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about the effects of AOT on upper limb motor functions in stroke survivors. Methodological quality of included studies was assessed by the Risk of Bias Tool in the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. A random-effects meta-analysis was performed by pooling the standardized mean difference (SMD) of upper limb motor outcomes. Results: Seven studies of 276 participants with stroke were included. Meta-analysis showed a significant effect favoring AOT on improving upper limb motor functions in patients with stroke [SMD = 0.35, 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.10 to 0.61, I2 = 10.14%, p = 0.007]. Conclusions: AOT appears to be an effective intervention for improving the upper limb motor functions in people after stroke. Background: Constraint-induced aphasia therapy (CIAT) has been widely used in post-stroke aphasia rehabilitation. An increasing number of clinical controlled trials have investigated the efficacy of the CIAT for the post-stroke aphasia. Purpose: To systematically review the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) concerning the effect of the CIAT in post-stroke patients with aphasia, and to identify the useful components of CIAT in post-stroke aphasia rehabilitation. Methods: A computerized database search was performed through five databases (Pubmed, EMbase, Medline, ScienceDirect and Cochrane library). Cochrane handbook domains were used to evaluate the methodological quality of the included RCTs. Results: Eight RCTs qualified in the inclusion criteria. Inconsistent results were found in comparing the CIAT with conventional therapies without any component from the CIAT based on the results of three RCTs. Five RCTs showed that the CIAT performed equally well as other intensive aphasia therapies, in terms of improving language performance. One RCT showed that therapies embedded with social interaction were likely to enhance the efficacy of the CIAT. Conclusion: CIAT may be useful for improving chronic post-stroke aphasia, however, limited evidence to support its superiority to other aphasia therapies. Massed practice is likely to be a useful component of CIAT, while the role of “constraint” is needed to be further explored. CIAT embedded with social interaction may gain more benefits.
