Two Zn MOFs {[Zn4(OH)(tipe)2(btc)2]·(OH)·9H2O·DMF}n (1·(OH)·9H2O·DMF) and {[Zn(tipe)1/2(bpdc)]·H2O}n (2·H2O) (tipe = 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)ethylene, btc = 1,3,5-benezenetricarboxylate, bpdc = 2,2′-biphenyldicarboxylate) were obtained using the hydrothermal method and characterized. MOF 1 exhibits the (3,4,4,6)-connected 3D topology with point symbol of (83)(44·82)(4·84·12)(42·89·102·122). MOF 2 shows the (4,4)-connected 3D topology with point symbol of (84·102)2(42·82·102). MOF 1 and 2 present the strong luminescence emission at 507 nm and 492 nm, respectively. The energy gap ( E g), valence band (Ev) and conduction band (Ec) data of MOF 1 and 2 were 2.31 and 2.17 eV, 2.37 and 2.54 eV, 0.06 and 0.37 eV, respectively. MOF 1 and 2 are good photocatalytic and sonocatalytic catalysts for degradation of methylene blue under visible light and ultrasound irradiation. The catalytic mechanism was proposed.

Et4NVO3 reacts with the Schiff baseN,N′-disalicylidene-o-phenylenediamine (salphenH2) in MeCN to afford [VO(salphen)]· MeCN, which has been characterized by elemental analysis, e.p.r., i.r. and electronic absorption spectra and conductance measurements. The X-ray single crystal structure revealed, that the metal was coordinated in a square pyramidal arrangement to the quadridentate ligand.

MoO2(acac)2 reacts with the Schiff base SADH in methanol to afford the title complex which has been characterized by elemental analysis, IR and electronic spectroscopy and TGA. The single crystal X-ray structure of the complex reveals that the molecule possesses two usual cis-MoO2+2 cores and the ligand SADH is present as a hexadentate donor coordinating through ONO respectively, which forms one five-membered ring and one six-membered ring. The sixth coordination site around Mo is occupied by a dimethyl sulphoxide molecule, giving the molybdenum a distorted octahedral configuration.

MoO2(acac)2 reacts with the Schiff base SALP in methanol to afford the title complex which has been characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity, IR and electronic spectroscopy and TGA. The X-ray structure analysis reveals that the complex possesses the usual cis-MoO2+2 core and that the ligand SALP is present as a monoanionic tridentate donor coordinating through ONO. The sixth coordination site around Mo is occupied by a methanol molecule, which gives the coordination geometry of molybdenum atom as distorted octahedral.

NaVO 3 reacts with guanidine hydrochloride in aqueous solution to afford the title complex. The X-ray single crystal structure of the complex reveals that the molecular structure consists of a V 10 O 6− 28 polyanion 10 VO 6 distorted octahedra, which form two octahedra sharing an edge. Six protons of each decavanadic acid are captured by guanidine. In the crystal, the isopolydecavanadate anion, guanidine and the crystal water are linked together by ionic forces and hydrogen bonding.
