At present, dynamic simulation and analysis on building thermal environment and energy consumption achieved by computer software become a reality. However, it is found that defined gaps exist between simulation and on-site measurement. To explore the gaps, this paper takes typical air-conditioned university dormitories located in Chongqing as a case study. Simultaneously, the gaps are explored with a DeST-h building energy simulation model and on-site measurement. Indicators including indoor temperature, relative humidity and air conditioning energy consumption under different setting temperature are simulated and measured. Then, a comparison between simulation results and measured data is explored as well as the cause of these gaps. This paper studies thermal environment and energy consumption by combining on-site measurement and numerical simulation, and the conclusion is that the gaps can from occupant behaviour and physical parameters of the indoor and outdoor environment, which provides a reference for thermal environment of the dormitory and building simulation.
