Data papers, a new class of scholarly publication emerging from the open‐science movement, foster data discovery and reuse by offering comprehensive descriptions of research data. Yet, despite their promising growth, the role of data papers in scholarly communication remains underexplored. This work therefore investigates the perceived contributions and functions of data papers to scholarly communication by interviewing 14 data‐paper authors operating in the field of natural science. Using conceptual frameworks adopted from Borgman (2007) and Van de Sompel et al. (2004), we identify four general functions of scholarly communication (i.e., legitimization; dissemination; access, preservation, and curation; and rewarding). Additionally, our data lead us to propose that verification is a distinct scholarly communication, underscoring the importance of data papers in validating research findings in the context of ensuring research transparency. By elucidating the crucial role that data papers now play within the scholarly communication ecosystem, this study seeks to raise the academic community's awareness of their fundamental position, as well as their co‐existence with other forms of data publication, in advancing scientific research. ABSTRACT This study investigates the effect of diffusing scientific articles on Twitter on their citation impact. For a set of 1.3 million papers covered by the Web of Science and published in 2012, normalized citation rates are compared between tweeted and non-tweeted articles published in the same journal. The results indicate that tweeted papers, published in the same year and in the same journal received around 30% higher citation rates than papers which were not diffused on Twitter. New media platforms have enhanced the efficiency and diversity of information dissemination, providing new possibilities for the dissemination and promotion of academic papers. Currently, a large number of Chinese academic journals from different disciplines have established WeChat official accounts to promote their papers. This study examines WeChat official accounts from three disciplines: social sciences, natural sciences, and medicine. We analyze the existing paper promotion methods employed by these academic journal official accounts from four dimensions: content presentation format, number of papers promoted in a single post, interactive forms, and publishing time. The findings reveal that the current promotion methods for academic papers on WeChat official accounts are relatively limited, with low utilization of multimedia content. A paradigm shift is currently underway with the emergence of the Collections as Data movement, which advocates the creation and dissemination of cultural heritage collections that are amenable to large‐scale computation to empower both collection managers and users. Although this discourse is beginning to gain some traction in the literature, critical evidence‐based assessments of the opportunities and risks of this process are underexplored. This paper presents the results of a content analysis of the official position statements (n = 83) produced in the Collections as Data forums and written by international professionals working with digital collections. Although preliminary, the analysis presented and discussed here sheds light on the initial reception of the idea of Collections as Data and its articulation in practice. The study represents the first systematic attempt to explore the complexities of the intersection of ethics and artificial intelligence in the context of cultural heritage, aiming at providing a valuable precedent for further elaboration and discussion. Scientific breakthroughs have the potential to revolutionize the course of research and shape the trajectory of scientific knowledge. This study investigates the characteristics of Disruptive Citing Papers (DCP) and Consolidating Citing Papers (CCP) associated with Nobel‐winning scientific breakthroughs, aiming to provide insights into the mechanisms of knowledge creation and dissemination. By analyzing a dataset of Nobel‐winning papers and their citation networks, we find that Nobel‐winning papers tend to attract a higher proportion of DCP compared to CCP. However, CCP exhibit a higher impact, as evidenced by their citation counts and likelihood of becoming hit papers. Furthermore, DCP are associated with larger research teams, highlighting the collaborative nature of disruptive research, while CCP employ a higher degree of professional language style characterized by shorter titles and specialized jargon. These findings deepen our understanding of the role played by disruptive and consolidating impact in scientific breakthroughs, shedding light on the dynamics of knowledge creation and dissemination in the scientific community. This study investigated papers posted on bioRXiv. In 2013–19, 17,818 papers were published in academic journals, accounting for 40.67% of the total publication. Among them, the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection recorded journals of 16,525 published papers, accounting for 92.74% of the total. The following conclusions can be drawn. (1) Results indicate scientists' attention to the preprint system. (2) A large number of papers still use traditional publishing as the ultimate goal. (3) Because the posted papers scrutinized in this study were published in journals with a high impact factor, they have attracted the attention of many scientists. Argumentation structure within the content of scientific paper is the fundamental for proving scientific findings. Constructing the argumentation graph is an effective way to realize the visualization of argumentation structure and help users quickly understand the logical of papers. This study presents the method for constructing argumentation graph of scientific papers, includes an ontology for describing the scientific papers' argumentation structure, a process for deep semantic annotation and a mapping protocols for transforming the annotation results into graph structure by using Neo4J. The method was applied to construct an argumentation graph and the argumentation process retrieval was also realized. The growth of digital curation as a field of research has exploded in recent years. However, little work has been directed at the study of changes in the field, and no effort has been made to identify predominant trends and gaps in the research literature. This study examines the International Journal of Digital Curation (IJDC) over an eight-year period from its inception in 2006 to 2013. A total of 219 papers published in the IJDC was examined in terms of paper productivity, keywords in abstracts, authorship, citations received, and funding received. The preliminary results of this study found a steady upward trend in paper productivity. An overwhelming number of papers were coauthored papers from the United Kingdom and United States. ABSTRACT In this poster, we describe partial findings from a larger study that explored the co-first and co-corresponding author phenomenon in two biomedical research areas, pharmacy and anesthesia. The top 10 journals in the two areas by the five-year impact factor as listed in 2013 JCR were used for the paper sources. A total of 17802 pharmacy papers and 35801 anesthesia papers were included in the analyses. Each paper was manually examined to identify the co-first and co-corresponding author papers. In this poster, we will show the distributions of the paper numbers and percentages of the co-first and co-corresponding papers over twenty years (1995-2014), the distributions of author numbers sharing the co-first and co-corresponding authorship, and the combinations and distributions of the authors' byline positions. Treating all citations in a reference list equally is one of the common practices of citation analysis that have long been criticized. The increasing availability of digital full-text documents now makes it feasible to weigh citations in various ways, e.g., by their frequency or location in the text. In this paper we report preliminary results of a comparison of author citation weighing schemes based on in-text citation frequency, and the citation impact patterns that emerge from them in the field of library and information science. Publication is a vital part of the career of any researcher. There is an increasing awareness that the presented gender of authors can impact their acceptance at competitive venues, and also influence the support they receive to participate in conferences. Similarly, geography and the associated costs of travel to conferences also impact the likelihood a potential author will submit to a conference. Recent research has examined these impacts in the context of related disciplines within computing and considered the gender profile of reviewers and authors at the iConference. This paper examines the impact of gender and geography on the representation of authors in the ASIST Annual Meeting and the JASIST journal. Through an evaluation of the first authors of accepted papers or articles, we assess the relative representation of genders, and the degree to which conference location impedes or enables authors from different regions. This paper proposes an indicator for measuring the level of commitment to academic journals. The indicator is demonstrated on a sample of core LIS‐journals. By monitoring authorship patterns over a 20‐year period, it is shown that some journals have a higher frequency of returning authors than others, consequently showing a larger degree of community commitment. Authority and Agency have been central concepts in information science since its beginnings in 19th century documentalism. This paper begins with a brief historical overview of how these concepts have been constructed in the traditional and user‐centred paradigms. It will then explore how an information practices perspective affords the possibility of seeing authority and agency not as oppositional but rather as synergistic: two sides of the same theoretical coin. This exploration will be contextualised by examples drawn from the author's own research over more than two decades across a range of studies. In scientific research, laboratory (lab) notebooks have traditionally been used to record experiments and their results. Lab notebooks also act as an important record of the generation, processing and analysis of data over the research data lifecycle. As research data becomes increasingly digitized and voluminous, it becomes harder to record and describe research data, especially in paper lab notebooks (PLNs). This paper addresses the challenges of recording contemporary research data in lab notebooks and discusses the requirements in lab notebooks for describing research data. Two basic requirements of lab notebooks are the completeness of the data description and the ability to link the experiment records with their corresponding research datasets. Descriptions of research data should also document the provenance of the research data so that the original data can be retrieved. Professional academic writing skills can improve the validity of scholarly communication. Aiming to reveal the generational differences of academic writing patterns, by applying quantitative linguistic analysis to explore 53 information scientists in China and 2,328 papers of them, we found that (1) the writing pattern evolves smoothly, (2) sentences that scientists compose in a paper have become longer and longer, and syntax has become more and more complex as time goes by, and (3) scientists tend to be more and more cautious on choosing expression manners and norm words. This poster describes a research project in progress to map the historical and current published and grey literature of the field of knowledge management/knowledge sciences. The research describes the mapping of 11,820 JASIS papers to the landscape of knowledge sciences. The mapping is grounded on the automated classification and automated indexing of the individual papers leveraging a semantic profile and the SAS Content Categorization Suite. The semantic profile was created from the knowledge sciences classification scheme and thesaurus developed by Bedford (2015). The results suggest that JASIS papers and the research being published by ASIST members have some alignment with the field of knowledge sciences. The research is concentrated in three primary facets, including (1) Knowledge Asset Management; (2) Knowledge Technologies; and (3) Communities and Collaboration. This paper presents a mobile data collection method using a 360° camera developed in an ongoing qualitative doctoral research project. The method captures audio, participant action and the running environment visuals of a situation in an immersive way compared to traditional audio‐video capture. The method contributes towards an understanding of information types, use and value amongst those who run. The Journal of the Association for Information Science & Technology (JASIST) is a leading information science journal, recognized by many ranking metrics. Understanding patterns in articles published would be helpful to new researchers seeking to publish with the journal. However, the last comprehensive bibliometric analysis on JASIST is more than a decade old. The objective of this paper is to analyze the bibliographic information of full‐length research articles published in JASIST during the last two decades. This includes metrics such as article count, authorship, international collaboration, citations, and topical areas. Data was collected from SCOPUS, JASIST website, and Scimago. The findings show that JASIST published 3,052 articles during 2000–2020, which got cited 180,608 times (59.18 times per article) to date. Joint authorship and international collaboration has been increasing. Authors from institutions in 70 countries have published, with most articles from USA, with authorship from China steadily increasing in recent years. The detailed findings in the paper would help information science researchers and practitioners to assess the areas of focus, and various patterns in a top journal of the field. Although open government information awareness has enhanced since China implemented the Open Government Information Regulation, the complaints about the information disclosure work also increased. Previous research has ignored the impact of the department's responsibilities on information disclosure, which are essential as some departments handle information that should not be disclosed. From this standpoint, this paper is the first to analyze the differences in departments' open government information performance from their annual information openness reports. Variance and correlation analysis show that the potential harm of disclosure to third parties' legitimate rights and interests, the availability of relevant information, and duplicate requests can explain their differences in government information disclosure on request. Besides, this paper calls for an elastic criterion for openness evaluation and finds that the benchmark effect in previous research does not apply to departments with different responsibilities. Scientific retractions can be an indicator that misinformation is present in a research paper. Retractions are therefore an interesting research object to explore news coverage of misleading scientific information. This poster presents how problematic research (before and after retraction) is portrayed in news outlets, the impact of the retraction on these reports and the relationship of retracted scientific results and the spread of false information. Starting from a list of 270 retracted COVID‐19 papers from the Retraction Watch blog (https://retractionwatch.com), we analysed news articles of 16 retracted publications, that were immensely discussed in journalistic formats. By presenting three different use cases, we show how misinformation emanates from retractions, how problematic research is presented in media and what factors influence the message of the article. Our research contributes to a better understanding of how retractions are used and perceived in propagating scientific misinformation on one hand and in mitigating it on the other. Data quality assurance (DQA) is critical to research data sharing and reuse. There has been a growing recognition of data transparency, reproducibility, credibility, and validity in research. Although the research data curation literature is large, it lacks data quality theory‐guided examinations of DQA practices in research data repositories. This poster paper reports on the preliminary findings of a larger study that examines DQA practices in research data repositories, including their use of DQA ontologies, standards, and metadata vocabularies. In particular, the paper examines two quality standards and an ontology for their conceptualization of DQA activities and their structure. The authors used the findings of the analysis and the data quality literature to synthesize an initial model of a DQA process in research data repositories that conceptualizes three DQA activities: evaluation, intervention, and communication. Author keywords attached to academic papers are often used in intellectual structure analysis. However, the length and selection criteria for keywords vary across publications and, even some publishers do not require keywords for their articles. To explore the opportunity to overcome such keyword inconsistency issues, this study compared author keywords from papers focused on the digital divide with those extracted using the language models, BERT and ChatGPT. Preliminary findings reveal structural variations across the keyword networks and suggest a potential need to revisit keyword‐based research. Addressing the data skills gap, namely the superabundance of data and the lack of human capital to exploit it, this paper argues that iSchools and Library and Information Science programs are ideal venues for data science education. It unpacks two case studies: the LIS Education and Data Science for the National Digital Platform (LEADS‐4‐NDP) project (2017–2019), and the LIS Education and Data Science‐Integrated Network Group (LEADING) project (2020–2023). These IMLS‐funded initiatives respond to four national digital platform challenges: LIS faculty prepared to teach data science and mentor the next generation of educators and practitioners, an underdeveloped pedagogical infrastructure, scattered and inconsistent data science education opportunities for students and current information professionals, and an immature data science network. LEADS and LEADING have made appreciable collaborative, interdisciplinary contributions to the data science education community; these projects comprise an essential part of the long‐awaited and much‐needed national digital platform. Despite COVID‐19's devastating repercussions on higher education, scholars have yet to address its impact on Library and Information Science pedagogy. This exploratory qualitative case study centers on how archival educators weathered the onslaught of the pandemic. Drawing upon semistructured interviews with 31 archival educators and documentary evidence, this research addresses the sudden shift to online education; the concomitant loss of hands‐on work opportunities and the workarounds educators developed; affectivity and an emergent ethics of pedagogical care among students and educators; and educators' lessons learned from the pandemic and their future projections regarding archival education. This paper illuminates the evolving landscape of pedagogy and its attendant challenges preparing the next generation of archival professionals during an unprecedented period of duress. This conceptual paper highlights limitations within existing approaches to mis and disinformation and offers a cross disciplinary approach that draws from social shaping of technology and critical informatics to explain and understand these complex informational phenomena. Different scholarly perspectives from policy, technical, and information literacy spheres, often narrowly focus on information practices of actors or components of the technical systems and policy frameworks undergirding these systems often their "locus of change", or concept of the problem and solutions, do not acknowledge the interconnected complexities inherent to mis and disinformation. Our proposed conceptual intervention can be useful to the information science and technology research and teaching community as it offers opportunities to cultivate a complex form of what Milner and Phillips describe as "ecological literacy" to holistically understand the mis‐ and disinformation problem domain as an interconnected set of sociotechnical systems. This paper reports on the application of entification to collections of archival metadata. Entification refers to the identification of the entities described in information objects and associated metadata records. The process presents issues about whether existing records‐style metadata records are suitable and how entification will affect user access and interaction with metadata and information objects. In this study, we developed an entification workflow that includes the following steps: data cleaning, entity reconciliation to create linked data through metadata enrichment, accuracy selection, and developing knowledge graphs to communicate the semantic relationships among entities. The scientific references in patent (SRPs), one type of non‐patent references (NPRs), is the best representative of scientific knowledge cited in patents (SKCP). However, SKCP is often indicated by NPRs rather than SRPs currently, which may reduce the accuracy of the analysis of science & technology transfer and transformation. In the other hand, the content of SRPs is important for subsequent in‐depth patent analysis, which requires more accurate SRPs' metadata extraction. In order to enhance the accuracy of SRPs identification and SRPs' metadata extraction, this paper uses the representation learning method to learn vectors of the NPRs and the parts separated by delimiters with each SRP (metadata), respectively. These vectors conclude the context information and the same type of metadata may appear in the same position in vector space. Then the problem of SRPs identification and SRPs' metadata extraction are transferred as the automatic categorization with the machine learning method. The experiment is conducted in the field of gene where patents cite lots of SRPs. The result shows that in 1000 patent citations, the accuracy of SRP identification reaches 99.27% and the accuracy of SRP title extraction reaches 90.57% which is 4.51% higher than the pure machine learning method. In our efforts to design an ethical information future, we must develop a deeper understanding of the information phenomena in everyday lived experience. Based on work in cultural theory and philosophy, art seems to present an illuminating domain for the study of everyday life. This paper presents findings from an exploratory, phenomenology‐of‐practice study of the information behavior of artists. These findings serve as an entryway to information phenomena that have largely gone unexplored in information behavior. The study builds on the literature of everyday information behavior and artists' information behavior, and it draws on a nascent information behavior theory that recognizes understanding as an epistemic aim and conceptualizes understanding as an information constellation. In this study, seven local artists documented their process creating self‐portraits, and semi‐structured follow‐up interviews were conducted. This paper reports on the findings from four of these artists, demonstrating how memories, the lived environment, profound experiences, and online browsing were informative and contributed to the artists' understandings. It closes by discussing the meaning of these findings for the future of information science, suggesting that the information employed by artists might be recognized and appreciated more widely throughout society. This paper proposes "information borderlands" as a framework for bounding a unique information environment that is constituted by individual and community level practices, physical landscapes (natural and human‐shaped), as well as large‐scale sociotechnical systems and systems of documentality. The LIS Forward initiative is addressing the urgent question: As LIS evolves within the context of iSchools, how do we best position our research and education programs to lead the field and the future of libraries? The initiative stems from the recognition that the evolution of iSchools presents opportunities and challenges for LIS and that there is great value in iSchools working together on charting directions forward. The growing coalition of iSchools is working to support LIS in taking full advantage of the multidisciplinary knowledge and expertise within iSchools, foster future leaders who will champion LIS within iSchools, and confront the dynamic tensions in research intensive iSchools. This session aims to engage international, professional, and academic stakeholders to guide activities and coalition building that can continue to strengthen LIS in iSchools. A panel will present highlights from a recent position paper to catalyze interactive, facilitated dialogue within the ASIS&T community on critical issues in LIS research and education. Dementia is a progressive and incurable disease which impacts both people who have been diagnosed with some type of neurocognitive disorder but also their family members. Since dementia care has lately started to include not only pharmacological treatment and medical care but also a person‐centred and evidence‐based (neuro)rehabilitation in the community, library and information science scholars and professionals have started to investigate how they can contribute to development of dementia‐friendly communities. The paper discusses how findings from an ongoing multi‐phase research have been translated into practice in the city of Osijek, Croatia. Information sciences scholars have collaborated with librarians, civic organizations, neurology and human rights professionals to develop diverse programs in the local community, which aim to raise the quality of life of older citizens, people with dementia and their caregivers through information sharing and raising awareness, supporting their health and wellbeing, and capacity building of librarians. Threats against electronic medical and health records are on the rise. These threats include phishing attacks, malware and ransomware, encryption blind spots, cloud threats, and most important one is the internal threat caused by gaps in the level of awareness and knowledge of the employees and health practitioner of handling sensitive healthcare data. Cyber hygiene is a term used to describe both the technical and non‐technical threats. In the same way, personal hygiene practices are used to maintain one's own health and protect against diseases, cyber hygiene security practices are important in protecting and preserving sensitive electronic health information systems. In this paper, we report on the findings of a cyber hygiene study carried out in Kuwait with the objectives of assessing the level of awareness, knowledge and experience of physicians and healthcare professionals. The study identified seven different areas or barriers that impacted the cyber hygiene and the adoption of electronic health medical records in Kuwait. The seven areas include financial barriers, time, difficulty of using technology, lack of management support, negative attitude toward the use of electronic medical records, legal and ethical issues, as well as cultural barriers. Most of the physicians interviewed lacked the awareness and basic knowledge needed to practice cyber hygiene. History has repeatedly shown that when it comes to healthcare, there exist significant disparities across different sub‐populations. Part of this problem is challenges with access to healthcare services and providers. In recent years, we have seen solutions emerge that attempt to address this issue, namely telehealth. But little to no work has been done to glean insights into factors contributing to lower access and whether telehealth adequately supports populations that struggle with physical access issues. In this paper, we present findings from an exploratory, cross‐dataset analysis of healthcare access in Virginia, USA. We conducted quantitative and qualitative analyses lyses to determine correlations between socioeconomic factors and physical access. We found that population density significantly impacts physical access to healthcare. We also found that lower income communities in rural areas appear to be less satisfied with the quality of care and less likely to have adequate access to alternative options such as telehealth services. ABSTRACT In large-scale datasets, the researchers' multiple features need to be learned automatically instead of manually defined and enumerated, to improve the efficiency and effect of research collaboration prediction and recommendation. This paper applies the network embedding method to learn the context of each researcher by which the semantic similarities among researchers are calculated. Firstly, the co-authorship network is built in a large-scale dataset where research collaborations are denoted by co-authorships. Then the researchers' semantic contexts in the network are learned by the network embedding method based on deep learning, and each researcher's dense, low-dimensional vector is formed. Finally, the semantic similarities among researchers are calculated through vector similarity indices and quantitatively compared by link prediction. In an era of information overload, people often work together on information‐intensive projects. Group holidaying is such an example where people plan and conduct trips together. In this poster paper we present preliminary findings from an ongoing investigation of collaborative information behaviour of group holidaymakers. Through a grounded‐theory approach, preliminary findings show that not all members of the travel group engage equally in the information search. A role labelled "active followers" is identified and the role‐taker's contribution to the group's information seeking and decision‐making is discussed. This paper analyzes the findings of a research project into the information seeking practices of local government decision‐makers in terms of collaborative information seeking (CIS) and expertise seeking. It finds that the participants do collaborate in information seeking and that there is a clear preference for personal information sources. The generally accepted definition of CIS as groups collectively seeking information in the performance of common projects or tasks is found to have limited applicability in many real‐life situations. Conversely, viewing expertise seeking as an individual activity in which another person is selected as an information source based on their high level of knowledge or skill does not reflect the collaborative nature of the modern organization. It is argued that neither approach adequately accounts for the full range of behaviors observed in practice, and that research into organizational information behavior would benefit from a conceptual amalgamation of CIS and expertise seeking. Information Experience is a recent and growing concept in Information Science that is proposed as a holistic approach to explicitly examine the human experience of information interactions, including an individual's perceptual, cognitive and embodied experience. Valuable to this discussion is setting out a suitable philosophical position about the conception of the mind. This paper proposes that the concepts of embodied cognition and the non‐representational, enactive mind are necessary conceptions of mind for an adequate theoretical account of Information Experience. Furthering this discussion, the concept of information as an enactive cognitive phenomenon is explored, as constructed by the individual, embodied by their experience and contextually situated. These conceptions will provide a foundation for further development of the emerging field of information experience, and prove thought provoking for the Information Science field generally in the development of new approaches to the ways we use and share information in our communities and the future technologies we build for this. The concept of digital justice is intended to open up discourse about strategies for bringing relief to those who believe they have been discriminated against or harmed by algorithmic decision making. Digital justice has depended on algorithmic accountability, a means by which entities can be held accountable for the consequences of algorithmic decision making. This paper critically examines the concept of algorithmic accountability to assess its utility as a ground for digital justice and argues that it is fraught with difficulties. After discussing digital justice and algorithmic discrimination, algorithmic accountability is decomposed into two types, technical and sociotechnical. These approaches are critically assessed and a cautionary note is struck about the difficulty of enacting algorithmic accountability. If this argument is persuasive, it implies that the concept of digital justice also has difficulties. As calls for justice in science and technology grow louder, the number of studies that seek to center equity and justice continues to grow. While the resulting body of knowledge is commonly assumed to constitute a monolith in terms of its theories, methods, priorities, and communities, the purpose of this study is to demonstrate the diversity of the extant justice‐oriented research in information science and technology. Specifically, we show that, similar to other emerging research streams, as certain justice‐oriented works become well‐known and enter the mainstream, the margins once again shift and new, even more progressive ideas appear on the epistemological horizon, fighting for visibility. This study argues that instead of becoming too comfortable with what has now become the justice‐oriented mainstream, the information science and technology literature should learn from the vanguard ideas in this area, some of which are presently being silently neglected. Semantic Web and Linked Data promise to change the way we identify, classify, share, find and reuse information by managing and interlinking data so that it can be understood by machines. The benefits identified by the World Wide Web Consortium and other Semantic Web advocates have lead information professionals to explore these possibilities by implementing several initiatives based on Semantic Web technologies in recent years. Just like information science, Semantic Web research is multidisciplinary in nature and can be applied in many different disciplines. In this article, we provide a portrait of research on the Semantic Web using bibliometric methods and investigate the specific contribution of information science literature on the topic. We analyzed 6,438 articles published from 2001 to 2016 retrieved from the Web of Science database to evaluate the evolution of the papers published by discipline and the way the topic was discussed by different discipline. Online inquiry tasks are a rich space to explore how young people take in new information, develop representations of a problem space, and use these representations to make decisions. This paper draws on data from 120 students engaged in scenario‐based online inquiry about communicable diseases. Using multiple data sources, including pre/post knowledge tests, think alouds, and carefully constructed tasks that focus on learning, I argue that we might identify where student search processes break down as a way of exploring meditational practice and search support. Rather than seeing task failures as a deficit in students' information seeking abilities, the analysis suggests these misconceptions represent a liminal space for which educators can design informed pedagogical interventions. When the Web is a primary source for student learning, reading comprehension and reasoning skills may play a greater role in student learning outcomes than search skill and information quality. The information needs of social science researchers are manifold and almost studied in every decade since the 1950s. With this paper, we contribute to this series and present the results of three studies. We asked 367 social science researchers in Germany for their information needs and identified needs in different categories: literature, research data, measurement instruments, support for data analysis, support for data collection, variables in research data, software support, networking/cooperation, and illustrative material. Thereby, the search for literature and research data is still the main information need with more than three‐quarter of our participants expressing needs in these categories. With comprehensive lists of altogether 154 concrete information needs, even those that are only expressed by one participant, we contribute to the holistic understanding of the information needs of social science researchers of today. Stack Overflow (SO) represents one of the most vibrant Question Answering Communities (QACs), providing a crucial platform for developers to pose and respond to questions. SO preserved duplicate questions due to their potential for furnishing additional insights or suggestions. In this paper, we delve into the study of duplicates within SO, with the objective of unraveling their positive value, particularly through the lens of knowledge networks and the evolution. We propose a categorization of knowledge evolution within QACs into two key dimensions: depth and breadth. Our exploration reveals that duplicate questions play a constructive role in fostering both the depth and breadth of knowledge evolution. The ICT advancement and people's increasing cultural needs have stimulated China's online form of cultural activity organization. With highlights on such a new trend, this paper analyzes the impact of the newly‐invented online activity organization form on the participation ratio of parent–child cultural activities, which are vital in China's public cultural service system. Regression analysis indicates that the online activity organization form reduces the impact of limited available tickets and web browsing. It also relaxes the special time limit for public participation. Understanding the interactions between science and technology (S&T) is crucial for driving major innovations. Previous studies have typically focused on identifying scientific and technical topics separately and analyzing their association through semantic or citation. In this study, we propose a novel approach to identifying linked topics that directly reflect the interactions within the S&T domain. Our approach integrates semantic characteristics and citation relationships, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of the specific content and structure of these interactions. We test our approach using a dataset of 2,821 patents and 4,626 papers from the field of genetic engineering vaccines, spanning the years 1980 to 2020. The results demonstrate that our approach provides a more direct and detailed understanding of the content and structural characteristics of S&T interactions. The application of AI(artificial intelligence) in libraries is not only the result of the development of technology, but also the choice of libraries to improve their service. However, how to better integrate libraries and AI still needs further exploration, and libraries also need guidance in implementing AI technology. This study uses a systematic literature review method to analyze the literature on the application of AI in libraries published before 2023. Based on sorting out the application of AI in libraries, this paper summarizes and analyzes the practice and attitudes of applying AI in libraries. We find that there is a broad prospect of AI applications in libraries, but the current application is scattered and lacks a comprehensive view. Much work has been carried out to highlight the accessibility challenges of blind programmers. Yet, relatively little has been known about how blind programmers help each other to solve problems. We present a data‐driven approach to explore collaborative problem‐solving of users in the Program‐l community of, by, and for blind programmers. We collected 8,344 longitudinal email threads from 778 users from 2004 through 2022 to observe the dynamics of collaborative problem‐solving among blind programmers. Our embedding‐based topic modeling and assortativity network analysis reveal that the knowledge of blind programmers diverges between when asking and answering questions. Our findings also suggest that users who have a high cluster level in the first year of activity and members are more likely to interact with other members with different roles. This paper proposes a practical seven‐layer model that provides a holistic framework for creation an optimal foundation for organizational knowledge management (KM). The research corpus consists of three data collection tools; In the physical field we conducted personal interviews and a focus groups with 52 KM professionals. In the online arena we conducted a web ethnography, in which we surveyed tens of thousands of posts and comments which were posted in two virtual KM groups on the Facebook social network. The research is based on the qualitative‐constructivist paradigm. The data were analyzed according to the thematic analysis method, relying on the grounded theory approach. The proposed conceptual framework contributes to the empirical knowledge of the KM field, and may stand to guide practitioners in successful implementation of KM practices in organizations.
