The specific high tides threating coastal constructions and human activities have been observed in the radial sand ridges areas of the South Yellow Sea. A 2-D Tide-surge Coupled Model is established to effectively simulate the tides and storm surge in the South Yellow Sea. The cause of the special high tide in the South Yellow Sea is concerned with the specific meteorology and the radial sand ridges, or rather the combined action.
