Abstract

The article discusses a study that presented a novel design of retrofit hang-off structure to tie-back Steel Catenary Risers (SCR). It discusses the key features of the SCR clamp, including the clamp body, support baskets and tubular bracing members. The study showed that this approach has the ability to significantly reduce the welding requirements and steel material usage.
