CYTOKINE release syndrome , *ADULT respiratory distress syndrome - Abstract
A 40-year-old woman experienced cytokine release syndrome (CRS) during immunosuppressive therapy with antithymocyte globulin. She underwent a kidney transplant and received antithymocyte globulin along with Solumedrol. However, she developed respiratory failure and required reintubation. She also experienced hypotension, bradycardia, acute kidney injury, and worsening respiratory status. The woman was diagnosed with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome and grade 4 CRS. She was treated with tocilizumab, which improved her condition, and eventually discharged with normal lung and kidney function. [Extracted from the article]
