The application of a gas-fired CCHP can effectively solve seasonal shortages of electricity and gas. To realize providing investment decision for gas-fired CCHP in Beijing, first, the paper analyses the status of gas-fired CCHP systems in Beijing; second, the technology structure and economic benefits of gas-fired CCHP systems are analyzed; third, a technical economic evaluation framework of a gas-fired CCHP is built, which analyses the cascade utilization and energy saving effects of a heat and power energy system in a gas-fired CCHP system. Analysis of the gas-fired CCHP system economy and the factors that influence the economic performance is also performed, as well as a sensitivity analysis. In addition, the paper also analyses an energy efficiency sharing model of a cooling, heating and power system that considers the grid enterprises’ economic efficiency. Finally, an empirical analysis of a trigeneration project control center in the Beijing Gas Group is carried out. Research results show that gas-fired CCHP system is good to both customers and beneficial, fuel price and electricity price will influence revenue of Gas-fired CCHP system greatly, a reasonable energy efficiency sharing ratio will help to the recovery of investment in Gas-fired CCHP. With increasing traffic and corresponding environmental problems, the measure of license plate rule has adopted on travel restriction in urban cities of China. This paper uses large-scale survey data to make an independent test and estimation model to analyse whether the vehicle policy of license plate rule has a significant impact on the low-carbon choice of residents' daily travel. The moderate effect for whether the increase in household vehicle holdings weakens the license plate rule policy was also explored in our paper. This study found that the license plate rule policy can induce low-carbon travel, but the impact is inefficient in comparison to the control of household vehicle holdings. The results also showed that household vehicle holdings moderate the impact of license plate rule on low carbon choices of residents' daily travel. These findings can provide more support for the government when it seeks to make future decisions in low-carbon travel policies. • The policy of license plate rule was systematically reviewed. • A large scale survey covering 46,900 households in Beijing was conducted. • License plate rule can induce low-carbon travel. • Impact of license plate rule is inefficient in comparison to vehicle control. • Household with more vehicles less influenced by license plate rule on travel choices. Renewable energy (RE) is strategically important to achieve sustainability. Its development in China, however, is clearly imbalanced across regions. The uneven distribution of natural resources, financial resources and other factors across this country has brought serious challenges to the policymakers. It is thus important to give a comprehensive evaluation of China's regional RE development. To do so, this paper introduces a multidimensional approach and establishes a quantitative evaluation framework. Based on the existing literature, five dimensions of factors have been chosen for the framwork: economic foundation, institutions, technological development potential, energy security and environmental protection, and current status of the RE sector. A dynamic principal component analysis technique is applied to data from 29 provinces between 2008 and 2014. The results demonstrate large variations in RE development across provinces in China. More economically developed regions, such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong, have maintained a higher ranking and have clear advantages in almost all dimensions. Policy implications and recommendations for more balanced development across China are drawn from the empirical results.
