- Abstract
The principles and applications of optical fiber communication are introduced. The feasibility of the experiment is analyzed. Parameters of circuit are designed and provided. Requirements for opto-electronic elements are put forward. The laboratory self-made fiber-coupling device is presented. The whole process of design, debugging and installation of the experimental board should be totally completed by students themselves. Students could learn to solve common problems in the experiment. During the experiments, they are required to put forward frequency demodulation strategies, and understand the operation manner of output and transmitting circuit of Bluetooth signal. Through the experiments, students can deepen their understanding of theoretical knowledge in this curriculum. Meanwhile, students can also have a better comprehension of the experimental design methods of optical communication system from practical perspective. This curriculum can cultivate students’ team spirits and develop their abilities of analyzing and solving practical problems. At the same time, teaching benefits teachers as well as students. Therefore, the quality of this curriculum can be improved by the efforts of students.
