In this work we studied the diuretic potential of aqueous and ethanolic leaves extract of Cardiospermum halicacabum Linn in experimental Wister rats. The ethanolic extract was done by Continuous Hot Percolation method and the aqueous extract was done by Maceration method. Both aqueous and ethanolic Extract of Cardiospermum halicacabum Linn was tested to check the presence of different active constituents like alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, terpenoids and saponins. The aqueous and ethanolic leaves extract Cardiospermum halicacabum Linn was used for diuretic activity at the dose 200 mg/kg was compared with standard drug furosemide (10 mg/kg). Various ion concentrations like Sodium, Potassium, Chloride and urine volume was measured. Urine volume increases in aqueous extract than the ethanolic extract. Both the extract showed more urine volume when compared to control but less than that of standard drug. The significant increases in Sodium, Potassium and Chloride ion concentration in both the extract group.

The antihyperlipidemic activity of ethanolic extract of leaves of Alternanthera ficoidea Linn against Triton wr-1339 induced hyperlipidemia in rats. Alternanthera ficoidea Linn administered at a dose of 200mg/kg (p.o) to the triton induced hyperlipidemic rats. Alternanthera ficoidea Linn shows a significant decrease lipid profile levels like serum cholesterol, phospholipids, triglyceride, LDL, VLDL and the significant increase in the level of serum HDL level.

The aim is to perform on anti-hyperlipidemic activity of ethanolic extract of leaves of Amaranthus tristis Linn against Triton wr-1339 induced hyperlipidemia in rats. Amaranthus tristis Linn administered a dose of 200mg/kg (p.o) to the triton induced hyperlipidemic rats. Amaranthus tristis Linn shows a significant decrease in the levels of serum cholesterol, phospholipids, triglyceride, LDL, VLDL and significant increase in the level of serum HDL level.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the phytochemical bioactive compounds of the ethanolic extract of Alternanthera ficodia Linn leaves and its Invitro antidiabetic activity. The result suggests that the presence of bioactive compounds could be responsible for the versatile medicinal properties of this plant including diabetes and the extract exhibit the dose-dependent action by increasing the inhibitory effect on alpha-glucosidase enzyme and alpha-amylase enzyme.
