This text proposes a reflection on the assimilation that the British musician David Bowie made of Science Fiction, specifically in his 1969 song, “Space Oddity”. Based on a comparative analysis between the song and the literary and cinematographic works that serve as his inspiration, this article proposes a reading of how a pop creation brought to light the theme of loneliness and uprootedness implied by nascent space travel. Bowie, in his musical proposal, explores the nostalgia and estrangement experienced by the space traveler. He also explores the psychic and emotional states that can arise in a world that is, for the first time, exposed to a new type of loneliness: cosmic loneliness. At this crossroads between science fiction and pop, reflection lines emerge on the limits between high culture and popular culture, as well as the legitimization of artistic discourses and the massification of art. This paper analyzes alienation as a consequence of exile in the plays Canción de cuna para un anarquista (2003), by Jorge Díaz, and El olvido está lleno de memoria (2002), by Jerónimo López Mozo. Under the idea of a real and symbolic return in the post-dictatorship societies of the Southern Cone and Spain, the confrontation with reality generates a new trauma, which reveals an alternative discourse that alters a pre-established social order. The idea of exile, based on Edward Said's formulations in Reflections on Exile and Other Essays (2000), not only means the separation of something, but also results in the loss of that something forever. To speak of exile, (auto) exile or the exiled subject does not mean to restore the condition of loss, but rather, it faces a reality imposed to oblivion. Este artículo hace un recuento y un análisis de la poesía chilena que se produce dentro y fuera de Chile en los años setenta, con especial énfasis en la concepción del exilio y el insilio. Además de focalizarse en las problemáticas "exilio-insilio", su desarrollo y posterior integración, este trabajo analiza fundamentalmente las relaciones que se producen entre los poetas y su entorno a través de sus representaciones subjetivas en diferentes situaciones y lugares, especialmente urbanos. Tanto las ciudades del interior como las ciudades del exilio adquieren connotaciones represivas que inciden en las problemáticas de un sujeto escindido en los poemas.This article is an inventory and analysis of Chilean Poetry in the seventies, written in Chile and abroad, emphasizing the "exilio" and "insilio" concept. Apart from focusing on the "exilio-insilio " problem, its development and subsequent integration, this work analyzes the relationships between poets and their environment by means of subjective representations in different situations and places (especially urban). The cities of Chile, as well as foreign cities in the countries of exile, acquire repressive connotations, which influence the problems of the divided subject in this poetry.

The narrative work of the Cuban writer Severo Sarduy, seven novels produced in exile between 1963 and 1993, year of his death in Paris, is a subjective building process, where individual and national identity coincide around one question that is transversal to his whole work --not only to the narrative one--, the inquiry about Cuban identity or "Cuban-ness". At the same time, the notion of exile, inside his neobaroque poetic, results as an aesthetic category type, from where its own identity narration is structured and reformulated from the otherness and subversion that expulsion experience boosted. The eccentric position of José Bergamín in the history of Spanish literature can be explained by the fact that his oeuvre is difficult to read, and also hard to integrate into the history that shapes it. This article intends to thematize Bergamín's exile experience by studying his plays Medea, la encantadora, and La sangre de Antígona, all of which feature characters marked by the stigma of liminality. As representations of the written expression of a borderline experience during exile, these plays cannot be addressed without challenging the current political and aesthetic categories commonly used by historians who have explored Bergamín's work so far. The starting point of this article is an episode in the Paraguayan post-dictatorship intellectual field: the polemic provoked by Augusto Roa Bastos's statement about the absence of Paraguayan Literature. The article, however, will not explore the controversy underlying the statement, but rather the complex theoretical ideas that sustain it. The articulation of these ideas reveals issues related to diglossia and the colonialist social structure that survives in Paraguay. Bilingualism is experienced through a strong social and linguistic stratification. As a result, the relationship between orality and literacy is perceived as an inviolable opposition.
