Objective: In the world it is estimated that 291 million women are carriers of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and its importance is due to the association with cervical cancer. Thus, it is necessary to understand the level of knowledge of women who are at risk of developing the disease. Method: For this, a questionnaire was applied to women between 18 and 40 years old. Results: Most women (97.6%) know that HPV is related to cancer and 91.9% responded that HPV is a risk factor for cancer. As for the clinical manifestations, 60.3% had partially correct answers, what shows satisfactory knowledge on the subject. Of those interviewed, 79.8% also are acquainted to the HPV detection method. Conclusion: It is concluded that, despite the main information on the subject being sedimented, it is possible to perceive a great insecurity of the interviewees regarding their own knowledge. These data reinforce the need to build new articles and campaigns on the subject as a mean to increase the dissemination of information associating HPV with cancer in order to consolidate such knowledge. Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the world. Death rates remain high and may be due to the high prevalence and, at the same time, the still poor control of cardiovascular risk factors. Methods: This is an analytical and observational study carried out in a cardiology outpatient clinic from August 2015 to August 2016, by means of a self-administered questionnaire. Data were submitted to descriptive statistical analysis and ethical recommendations were respected. Objectives: To estimate the prevalence and distribution of the combination of cardiovascular risk factors in patients with coronary artery disease, as well as to assess knowledge of personal risk factors. Results: There was a predominance of females (70%), mean age 63.87 years. The majority were declared brown (75.56%), single (41.11%), with low educational level (57.79%) and income (61.11%) and without occupational activity (56.67%). Most of the individuals had unstable angina as their medical diagnosis (74.44%). There was a high prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors, mainly systemic arterial hypertension (83.33%), dyslipidemia (62.22%), sedentary lifestyle (74.44%) and overweight (64.44%). Central obesity was identified in 88.89% of the women and 51.85% of the men. According to the body mass index, obesity was found in 37.78%. About the knowledge, 74.44% of subjects reported knowing the conditions that predispose coronary artery disease. Smoking (36.67%) and systemic arterial hypertension (34.44%) werethe most cited cardiovascular risk factors. Conclusion: There was an unsatisfactory knowledge about cardiovascular risk factors, as well as a lack of control and a high prevalence of risk factors. Objective: To compare the knowledge the responsible ones for and/or relatives of children diagnosed with epilepsy and those children with other diagnosis have got about this disturb. Method: It was a cross-sectional clinical study that occurred through the application of the second part of Simplified Inventory of Life Quality on Children's Epilepsy. Results: Eighty-three people have participated of the study, being 36 from the group of relatives of children with epilepsy and 47 from the group of children with other diagnosis. The fear of the tongue be swallowed during an epileptic seizure is present in 55.5% of relatives of children with epilepsy and in 61.7% of relatives of children from the other group. Objectives: This article aimed to trace the profile of teachers at a public school in high school, according to sociodemographic variables, gender, age, marital status, education, training, working time in school, working time in the researched school; and to investigate their knowledge on the subject of sexuality. Method: This is a descriptive and quanti-qualitative research, conducted with 27 teachers at a secondary public school located in the northwestern region of the city of Sorocaba, São Paulo. Results and Discussion: For this group of teachers, the process of adolescence is characterized by behavioral, emotional, biological and social changes; they believe that the family should not be the only responsible for sex education, emphasizing that it is the principal basis in the educational process. Hypertension is responsible for high morbidity and mortality rates, especially among the elderly. This study aimed to report the promotion of non-pharmacological measures for hypertension control and how the interventions performed contributed to a better quality of life of an elderly. It is important to emphasize that for the awareness and adherence of these practices, it is necessary to provide permanent health education for all multidisciplinary teams that follow up with the patient. Introduction: The type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) is considered a public health problem, likely to have interventions directed to prevent complications especially in patients assisted on the Primary Health Care. Objective: To identify the knowledge of patients with DM2 inserted on the adult care program. Methods: Descriptive study, transversal, developed at the Family Health Unit located in a countryside city of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Results: Of the 60 patients who have voluntarily participated in the research, 39 (65.0%) were female and 21 (35.0%) were male. The length of the disease, reported by most of the patients, was of less than 10 years and 53 (88.3%) patients alleged to know the complications caused by the disease. Most of the information about the disease complications were given to the patients by the nursing staff, followed by doctors and a multidisciplinary team. Amputation (n=16; 26.6%); wounds (n=4; 6.6%); and infection (n=6; 10.0%) were reported as complications. Moreover, 6 (10.0%) patients were unfamiliar with any kind of complications and 28 (46.6%) had knowledge about more than 1 complication. The majority of the patients (n=59; 98.3%) considered DM2 a serious disease, which imposes changes on daily routine and huge alterations in life style. Objective: this study aims to reveal the feelings experienced by fathers during breastfeeding. Methodology: it is a descriptive and qualitative research. Fifteen parents who had at least two children and experiences in breastfeeding processing Sorocaba were interviewed. The interviews were recorded at Santa Lucinda's Hospital. The data organization was carried out using the Collective Subject Discourse. Reports were grouped into core ideas, totaling twenty-four speeches, among the most cited: little involvement in the breastfeeding process, knowledge of the importance of breastfeeding, satisfaction with the process of breastfeeding, feelings of abandonment and frustration, guidance received from other (lay), ignorance about the process of breastfeeding and its importance, lack of guidance from professionals about breastfeeding knowledge about breastfeeding technique, negative and positive experiences in the process of breastfeeding, fear and grief against the weaning process and reflecting on the breastfeeding process. Results: the results shows that during this period, fathers demonstrates satisfaction and interest in participating with breastfeeding process, but also feel left out for being an intimate act between mother-child which is also not encouraged by health professionals in monitoring pre-birth. Conclusion: nurse's guidance is essential, either during the prenatal or postpartum period, because of the importance of incentives and guidance on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the continuity of this process during the first six months of life and to decrease the incidence of early weaning process. Objective: this study analyzed the rate of tuberculosis (TB) infection among nursing students as well as the level of knowledge of these students about the disease. Results: the results demonstrated a low rate of TB infection. Conclusion: however, we identified gaps in knowledge from these students on issues that concern their own protection when in contact with the TB patient, suggesting the need to implement targeted and efficient measures on preventing occupational TB infection.
