Propolis is one of the products of the hive that is currently gaining interest from researchers, since its physicochemical and biological properties have been widely recognized for its ability to therapeutic against a variety of human pathogens and animals, as well as for its potential use against various phytopathogenic. Studies show that propolis is a complex substance, consisting, on average, of 300 different compounds, this wealth of compounds is correlated with the botanical origin of which resins are obtained. Colombia is rich in botanical diversity, outlining the country with high potential to obtain excellent quality propolis, which with serious studies, it would be as innovative alternatives for the control and the treatment of a great variety of pathogens that cause disease.
