The importance of couple relationship in adult life justifies the study of factors that may contribute to its quality. This article presents the development of the Couple Generativity Scale, the Portuguese version of the Couple Generativity Scale by Bertoni, Parise and Iafrate (2012)", as well as data on its accuracy and validity. This questionnaire aims to assess the couple's ability to cross marital boundaries together and to care for their family and social ties. With a sample of 406 adults of both sexes in a marital relationship, good psychometric qualities were found which encourage its use in the Portuguese population. The data show that the original unifactorial structure fits the present sample, that the scale reveals high levels of precision for internal consistency and that significant relationships of generativity with other important variables of conjugality, such as having children, the conception of the relationship and conjugal satisfaction, are evident. The psychometric properties of two instruments - the School Adaptation Questionnaire, children and teacher's versions, and the Portuguese version of the Social Competence Scale of the School Social Behavior Scales (SSBS-2) - were analyzed in a sample of 13 preschool teachers, 14 primary school teachers and a total of 328 children attending the last year of pre-school and first grade. The results highlight a structure on two factors with good internal consistency, reliability test - re-test, and construct validity of the teacher's version of the School Adaptation Questionnaire, a one-factor structure, good internal consistency but a weaker temporal stability index of the children's version, and factorial validity and reliability of the Social Competence Scale of SSBS-2. In Portugal, studies on instruments that assess responsible decision-making skills are scarce. Hence, the present study set out to analyze the psychometric properties of the Interpersonal Negotiation measure of the Relationship Questionnaire, in a sample of 197 pupils from 2nd and 3rd cycles of Portuguese middle schools. Factorial validity, reliability and discriminant validity were evaluated. Pupils' global skills evaluated by the Interpersonal Negotiation measure were then analyzed, as well as the socio-demographic differences. Results revealed a better fit of the one-factor model, adequate reliability, and discriminative power of the measure regarding other Socio-Emotional Learning domains. Results also indicated adequate skills of the pupils considering their stage of development; results for girls were higher in comparison with boys; and a lack of significant differences regarding age, educational cycle and nationality. This study set out to examine some psychometric properties of the Prospective Conjugal Coping Questionnaire (QCCP), namely the predictive value of the prospective coping in the explanation of personal well-being and dyadic adjustment. A sample of 451 adults in a couple relationship answered the QCCP, the Mental Health Continuum–SF (Keyes et al., 2008) and the Dyadic Adjustment Scale (Spanier, 1976). A six-items unifactorial prospective coping model showed a better fit to the data than the original two-factor solution. Multiple regression analyses showed that the prospective coping strategies explained a significant proportion of variance in all dimensions of dyadic adjustment and personal wellbeing. The results encourage us to pursue the study of this instrument within the scope of couplehood, in order to provide a valid and useful tool for the assessment of how people take an active role in building and maintaining the marital relationship. The aim of this study was to construct and evaluate the psychometric qualities of a scale on the risks and opportunities of Facebook for young people. The items were generated with recourse to the literature and by consulting frequent users of Facebook. Study of the psychometric qualities was based on a sample of 4572 youths from the community of Portuguese-speaking countries and Macao. The Exploratory Factor Analysis isolated seven factors which were confirmed by Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The scale revealed good convergent validity for three factors and acceptable validity for four, in addition to good discriminant validity. The Alphas oscillated between .53 and .99 The final version of the scale is composed of 26 questions related to five dimensions of online risks and two dimensions of online opportunities. This scale could be an important instrument to study the risks and opportunities of social networks for young people in Portuguese-speaking countries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
