The profile of the Student Affairs teams (SEPAE) was sought to know the transformations on the praxis in the pandemic of the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR). The quantitative and qualitative method was carried out through an online questionnaire. Fifty-three response forms were received. The results indicated the profile was composed of an interdisciplinary background, female, aged between thirty-one and fifty years old and working for more than six years in the area. The analysis categories point to the distant proximity between the IFPR and the students, the insufficiency of the student assistance policy, and the subjective meaning of the policy as a financial contribution. The limits of the praxis were the new demands, the operators’ lack of knowledge, budget cuts and the ‘stipend’ conception of student assistance. As possibilities, the consolidation of SEPAE in the implementation of permanence as a link between the school and the students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
