- Abstract
The study reports new data on the edible dormouse (Glis glis) occurrence in Czechia. Edible dormice were recorded at 34 localities, whose altitudinal range was 210-1085 m a. s. l. New sightings from the Bohemian Forest and from Prague are the most interesting. An important edible dormouse record from 1847 from South Bohemia is mentioned as well. Although it was published in 1851, the paper remained unnoticed by the zoological community at all. The bulk of new records come from various manmade structures: cottages, cellars, summer camps, a bee hive or a high seat. The risk of drowning of synanthropic dormice in uncovered containers with liquid is also pointed out. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
