Purpose. To analyze the structure and types of scientific sectors in Ukraine. To determine the influence of scientific and technical, and innovative project activity indicators of the university on its competitiveness and position in rating. Methodology. The methodological basis of paper is general scientific principles of research (methods of scientific analysis and synthesis), the theoretical and methodological foundations of the system and process approaches, and methods of ranking. Information sources of paper are statistical report data and studies of native scientists. Findings. This article provides general characteristics of some methods of creation of universities rating in Ukraine. In detail, we examined rating of universities in Ukraine of III, IV levels of accreditation "Top-200 Ukraine", in which significant role is assigned to scientific activity, and we studied the method of its creation. The article presents diagrams of weight distribution between the indicators in the indices of scientific and educational potential quality, the quality of education and international recognition. It identifies the dependence between the scientific and pedagogical potential quality and the rating place of the university, its competitiveness in the education sector in Ukraine. It presents characteristic of scientific sectors (academic, industry, educational, factory, and business), examines the organizational and legal forms of non-departmental science enterprises (incubator, technopark, technopolis), describes the structure of the education sector, and identifies the types of studies in accordance with the sector of science. Originality. The main scientific result is the theoretical substantiation of the influence of innovative activity at the university on his competitiveness. Rating features of a university are analyzed, and revealed the lack of indicators concerning implementation of the scientific developments performed by research and pedagogical workers. Purpose. Study of dynamics of development of deformation processes and crack formation in the rock massif around the working which is supported under longwall, with different time of putting into operation of protective facilities. Methodology. By means of simulation using equivalent materials we have investigated the rock massif deformation and cracking around the working supported under longwall with different time spent on putting into operation of the protective facilities. Findings. This paper presents a protection method with fast putting into operation of the protective facilities. In laboratory conditions we have obtained a positive effect of the proposed method application. Originality. It was shown that the time spent on putting into operation of the protective facilities has a significant influence on the deformation of the rock massif; place of location and development path of cracks. Growth of the main crack in the roof is caused by its subsidence, and determines the stress on the tunnel and its deformation. We have determined the time and place of localization and development of the main crack, which causes the collapse of main roof console under different time of putting into operation of the protective facilities. Practical value. Use of the proposed protection method with fast putting into operation of the protective facilities eliminates the roof stratification and inrush over the protective facilities into working; creates conditions for the occurrence of the main crack over the protective facilities and its development in the direction of mined-out area. Brokendown rock of the main roof shifts its weight on the immediate roof rocks over the open area of longwall, this also lowers the load on the support and lining of working, which reduces the load on the protective facilities and provides more stable state of working. Purpose. To get new information about rock compression behavior at different stages of lithogenesis. Methodology. For achievement of the indicated purpose we have collected the primary data about the change of properties and state of rocks in different districts of the Donetsk basin, Dnepr-Donetsk cavity. Physical and mechanical properties of sedimentary rocks on different stages of lithogenesis in the basins of Ukraine and Russia have been studied. We have analyzed the results of study of porosity, permeability, and types of cement in different conditions. The tests were executed by standard methods and approved devices. In addition to the empiric information we have studied the considerable volume of information about the results of previous researches published in media. Findings. We have found out that in the existent reference books and dictionaries some lithological concepts, terms and stages of lithogenesis disagree. The qualitative distinction of sedimentary and metamorphic rocks was made in the middle of 20th century; but quantitative criteria of distinction still remain undeveloped. The depth of the diagenesis stage makes dozens, hundreds and thousands meters. In some districts the loose deposits appear at a depth of 2-3 km. The basic types of cement of terrigenous rocks are represented by quartz (silica), carbonates, and oxides of iron. To determine the structural jumps of transition of one stage of lithification into another, it is necessary to test the as big interval of rocks as possible. We have suggested the formula (at qualitative level) of determination of stages (sub-stages) of lithogenesis based on the fact of structuring of matter in the case of achievement of critical power limit. It requires consideration of the mineralogical factor, the presence of carbonates in the cement of rocks, and control over description of drill sample, to reduce the errors of first kind. Originality and practical value. The scientific value of the results consists in determination of laws of change in the properties and state of the matter reaching the critical power values. The applied meaning is prognostication of intervals productive on hydrocarbons in sedimentary rocks being at different stages of lithogenesis. The presence of productive intervals at different modern depths is the important applied factor. The paper used general scientific and special methods of investigation: a method of critical analysis, group, detail specification, comparison, synthesis and generalization of scientific experience of financing the formation of housing, systematic and comprehensive approaches. Findings. Processed international experience financing the formation of housing, with emphasis on its features worldwide, formed conclusions and appropriate recommendations for its use in Ukraine. Originality. The further development of research on assessment and analysis of world achievements in financing the formation of housing on the basis of a comprehensive and systematic approach has been performed. Practical value. The theoretical study brought to the level of recommendations to improve the socio-economic efficiency of the national system of mortgage lending and financial mechanism of the formation of housing, which are used in the country, their social commitment in post-crisis period. Purpose. To prognosticate possibility of expansion of uranium raw mineral-material base potential within the Orekhovo-Pavlograd mineragenic zone. Methodology. In accordance with the postulates of the new rotary hypothesis by K.F. Tyapkin systematization of lineaments of the Orekhovo-Pavlograd deep fault was executed. These lineaments appear both in the physical fields and in geological features. Metallogenic specialization of anomalous areas of the activated mantle with determined deep sources of useful components (in particular, Malotersyansky alkaline massive) were defined. By results of long-term researches realized by means of the method of deep seismic sounding the basic features of deep structure of the earth crust and upper mantle in the zone of this fault were described. The analysis of the data of spatial distribution of uranium in the rocks of different ages in the Orekhovo-Pavlograd mineragenic fault zone and character of the uncommon Verbovsky type of uranium ore formation discovered in this area have been considered in the paper. Relying on the idea of the mantle fluidic-magmatic alkaline petrogenesis, as a basic ore formation process resulting endogenous uranium deposits, all set objects of endogenous uranium ore formation of different types and ages in the zone of the Orekhovo-Pavlograd fault of mantle penetration was considered from position of estimation of possibility of their formation due to the mantle sources of alkaline solutions and ore substance. The specificity of evolution of uranium-ore formation in considered district was studied. Findings. Close spatial connection of endogenous uranium- ore objects with Orekhovo-Pavlograd fault was set. However, only single ore objects of uranium of different genetic types were discovered within it. Near-fault uranium- bearing feldspar metasomatites in the Orekhovo- Pavlograd zone are practically absent according to results of prospecting specialized on uranium. Thereof exploration works on industrial uranium-ore deposits of albitite formation being the basic type of industrial endogenous uranium ore formations within the Ukrainian shield in this region is not reasonable. Results of the researches showed that during mantle penetration into the zone of deep Orekhovo- Pavlograd fault there was no right combination of conditions for ore formation that could result into deposits with significant concentrations of uranium. Originality. Ideas and traditions of scientific tectonic school created by professor K.F. yapkin were used in relation to prospecting of areas rich in radioactive raw materials in order to make a rational prognosis-searching complex based on mantle-paragenetic connection between uranium deposits formation and deep faults. Practical value. The materials changed the view on the possibility of expanding the mineral resource base of uranium in the Orekhovo-Pavlograd mineragenic fault zone. Purpose. To raise the formalization level of solution of geoecological mapping tasks concerning processing of multiparameter geological-geophysical data for problems of high-manmade-load territories changeover to sustainable development in Ukraine. Methodology. We applied the fuzzy sets theory to raise formalization and efficiency of solution of various tasks of geoecological mapping. When we processed complex geological-geophysical data, the fuzzy purposes achievement task was solved by the Bellman-Zadeh approach. It considers the purposes of acceptance of the decision and the set of alternatives (restrictions) to be equal in rights fuzzy subsets of some universal set of alternatives. To determine the relative weight of different restrictions we solved the ordering problem given fuzzy initial information. Where it was necessary for solving the mentioned tasks we did the transition from fuzzy sets to traditional sets through the level sets, taking into account geological-geophysical conditions of the territory under review. Findings. The technology of large-scale formalized rating and prediction of development of radiologic conditions of high-manmade-load territories in southeast Ukraine was developed. Thus we based the computing procedures of definition of parameters describing spatial distribution of radioactive pollution in various geospheres in concrete points on the solution of the task of fuzzy purposes achievement by Bellman-Zadeh approach. For this the formalized purposes and restrictions were determined. To determine the influence of the territory tectonic structure features on linear and area distribution of technogenous radioactive pollution we solved the formalized task of definition of fault fragment borders and association of fragments into uniform structures based on geological-geophysical data by calculation of convex combination of fuzzy sets of indicators (attributes) of faults. Originality. Application of the fuzzy sets theory for processing of multiparameter geologicalgeophysical data in order to solve various tasks of geoecological mapping of high-manmade-load territories of Ukraine. Practical value. Application of the formalized procedures of geoecological mapping using geologicalgeophysical data (developed on the base of the fuzzy sets theory) allows us to raise the efficiency of development of the ways of increase of anthropogenic safety level and minimization of social, economic and ecological losses in the high-manmade-load territories of Ukraine. Purpose. To analyze the problems of water supply / water consumption with the aim of synthesis of models for prediction of the parameters of the technological system. Findings. The study of systems of water supply / water consumption led to the conclusion that the large values of unit costs in many cases are caused by complexity of large technical systems, not a linear process, and as a consequence, the complexity of their modeling, as well as the lack of effective technical systems, low-skilled operating personnel and low level of automation of water supply system. Originality. Synthesis of efficient systems for process control of water supply / water consumption requires developing predictive models that take into account the nonlinearity of the considered processes. Nowadays the investigation of soil magnetism (pedomagnetizm) is important part of magnetometric studies. Soils are rather magnetic and sometimes they are the main object on the surface generating local magnetic anomalies. Such cases have been registered within the Dniepr-Donets Depression in Ukraine. Our work aimed the study of vertical and lateral distributions of magnetic characteristics of soils. In addition, the possible ways of application of the information about soil magnetism were analysed. The method of the research includes the principles of high-scale magnetometry, micromagnetic surveys, rock-magnetic and paleomagnetic studies, methods of soil science. The main magnetic parameters are: magnetic susceptibility ϰ, summary magnetization JΣ, effective magnetization Jef, vector of magnetic field T and its gradients, etc. Soils were studied within the main soilclimatic zones of Ukraine: Polesie (woodlands), Forest- Steppe, Steppe, Dry Steppe. The investigated soil types are: sod-podzol soil, gray forest soil, chestnut soil, chernozem soil (leached, typical, ordinary, southern), meadow soil, sod soil and bog soil. The soil magnetism increases from North to South across the soil-climatic zones of Ukraine. The most magnetic are ordinary and south chernozem soils. The least magnetic are sodpodzol, meadow and bog soils. The maximal values of the magnetic parameters are fixed in the watersheds and plateaus, minimal values are fixed in the floodplains, gullies, terraces. So cold 'urbanozem', te type of polluted soil, was investigated. Information about soil magnetism was used for solving environmental tasks. The magnetic parameters increase with soil pollution due to the content of heavy metals and other dangerous for human health matters. There is an opportunity of using soil magnetism in hydrocarbon prospecting due to the formation of autogenic magnetic minerals in the subsurface under the influences of oil and gas. Magnetic susceptibility rate is useful for agricultural mapping of lands, investigation of erosion, soil fertility, necessity of mineral and organic fertilizers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
