This study aimed to identify the factors affecting hip−knee−ankle (HKA) angle following Oxford medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (MUKA). A retrospective analysis of 200 patients who underwent Oxford MUKA from June 2018 to October 2020 was conducted. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to investigate the impact of surgical and radiographic characteristics on the postoperative HKA angle. The mean HKA angle was 9.5 ± 4.3° before surgery and 3.6 ± 3.7° after surgery (p < 0.001). The postoperative HKA angle significantly correlated with the preoperative HKA angle, bearing size, tibial component alignment angle, and BMI (r = 0.71, p < 0.001; r = − 0.24, p = 0.001; r = 0.21, p = 0.004; r = − 0.18, p = 0.011). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that the preoperative HKA angle (β = 0.68, p < 0.001), bearing size (β = − 0.31, p < 0.001), tibial component alignment angle (β = 0.14, p = 0.003), and BMI (β = − 0.09, p = 0.047) significantly affected the postoperative HKA angle. In conclusion, larger preoperative varus deformity, smaller bearing size, greater varus alignment of the tibial component, and lower BMI lead to greater postoperative varus alignment of the lower limb in Oxford MUKA. Sepsis is caused by an uncontrolled inflammatory response, whose underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. It is well known that the majority of human genes can be expressed as alternative isoforms. While isoform switching is implicated in many diseases and is particularly prominent in cancer, it has never been reported in the context of sepsis. Patients presented to the emergency department of three tertiary care hospitals from January 2020 to December 2020 were enrolled. Clinical variables and genome-wide transcriptome of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) were obtained. Isoform switching analysis were performed to identify significant isoform switches and relevant biological consequences. A total of 48 subjects with sepsis, involving 42 survivors and 6 non-survivors, admitted to the emergency department of three tertiary care hospitals were enrolled in this study. PBMCs were extracted for RNA sequencing (RNA-seq). Patients (n = 4) with mild stroke or acute coronary syndrome without infection were enrolled in this study as controls. The most frequent functional changes resulting from isoform switching were changes affecting the open reading frame, protein domains and intron retention. Many genes without differences in gene expression showed significant isoform switching. Many genes with significant isoform switches ( | d I F | > 0.1) were associated with higher mortality risk, including PIGS, CASP3, LITAF, HBB and RUVBL2. The study for the first time described the landscape of isoform switching in sepsis, including differentially expressed isoform fractions between patients with and without sepsis and survivors and nonsurvivors. We calculate the single-particle excitation spectrum and the Landau liquid parameters for the archetypal model of solids, the three-dimensional uniform electron gas, with the variational diagrammatic Monte Carlo method, which gives numerically controlled results without systematic error. In the metallic range of density, we establish benchmark values for the wave-function renormalization factor Z, the effective mass m ∗ / m , and the Landau parameters F 0 s and F 0 a with unprecedented accuracy, and we resolve the long-standing puzzle of non-monotonic dependence of mass on density. We also exclude the possibility that experimentally measured large reduction of bandwidth in Na metal can originate from the charge and spin fluctuations contained in the model of the uniform electron gas. Classifying mental disorder is a big issue in psychology in recent years. This article focuses on offering a relation between decision tree and encoding of fMRI that can simplify the analysis of different mental disorders and has a high ROC over 0.9. Here we encode fMRI information to the power-law distribution with integer elements by the graph theory in which the network is characterized by degrees that measure the number of effective links exceeding the threshold of Pearson correlation among voxels. When the degrees are ranked from low to high, the network equation can be fit by the power-law distribution. Here we use the mentally disordered SHR and WKY rats as samples and employ decision tree from chi2 algorithm to classify different states of mental disorder. This method not only provides the decision tree and encoding, but also enables the construction of a transformation matrix that is capable of connecting different metal disorders. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is known to inhibit breast cancer in the rat. Here we investigated whether DHA itself or select metabolites can account for its antitumor action. We focused on metabolites derived from the lipoxygenase (LOX) pathway since we previously showed that they were superior anti-proliferating agents compared to DHA; 4-OXO-DHA was the most potent. A lipidomics approach detected several LOX-metabolites in plasma and the mammary gland in rats fed DHA; we also identified for the first time, 4-OXO-DHA in rat plasma. In a reporter assay, 4-OXO-DHA and 4-HDHA were more effective activators of PPARɣ than DHA. In breast cancer cell lines, 4-OXO-DHA induced PPARɣ and 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase (15-PGDH) but inhibited the activity of NF-κB and suppressed PI3K and mTOR signaling. Because of the structural characteristics of 4-OXO-DHA (Michael acceptor), not shared by any of the other hydroxylated-DHA, we used MS and showed that it can covalently modify the cysteine residue of NF-κB. We have also shown that the chemopreventive effect of DHA is associated with significant reduction of PGE2 levels, in both rat mammary tumors induced by MNU and non-involved mammary tissues. With an increase in tunnel construction and retention, traditional waterproofing and drainage systems have been unable to meet the needs of tunnels in heavy rainfall areas, and disasters such as tunnel lining cracking, leakage, and even collapse, occur frequently. In order to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of tunnels, this paper analyses the characteristics of the traditional waterproofing and drainage system, and puts forward a new drainage structure through numerical simulation and indoor testing. This structure removes the circular drainage blind pipe and adds a convex shell drainage plate between the waterproof board and the secondary lining. The research shows that the new drainage system greatly decreases the water pressure in the easily blocked area of the drainage structure. With the special surface discharge model, the external water pressure of the lining far away from the blocked area can quickly fall back to the normal level. In addition, the drainage capacity of different waterproof and drainage boards is different. With an increase in support pressure, the drainage capacity decreases; the geotextile decreases the most, followed by the capillary drainage board and then the convex shell drainage board. At the same time, after the muddy water drainage test of the three materials, it is found that the convex shell type drainage plate has the best anti-sludge performance. The research in this paper provides a beneficial attempt for the design of waterproofing and drainage structure of a water-rich karst tunnel, and provides a guarantee for the safe operation and maintenance of the tunnel. Age-adjusted suicide rates in the US have increased over the past two decades across all age groups. The ability to identify risk factors for suicidal behavior is critical to selected and indicated prevention efforts among those at elevated risk of suicide. We used widely available statewide hospitalization data to identify and test the joint predictive power of clinical risk factors associated with death by suicide for patients previously hospitalized for a suicide attempt (N = 19,057). Twenty-eight clinical factors from the prior suicide attempt were found to be significantly associated with the hazard of subsequent suicide mortality. These risk factors and their two-way interactions were used to build a joint predictive model via stepwise regression, in which the predicted individual survival probability was found to be a valid measure of risk for later suicide death. A high-risk group with a four-fold increase in suicide mortality risk was identified based on the out-of-sample predicted survival probabilities. This study demonstrates that the combination of state-level hospital discharge and mortality data can be used to identify suicide attempters who are at high risk of subsequent suicide death. Pleural effusion is a rare immune-related adverse event for lung cancer patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). We enrolled 281 lung cancer patients treated with ICIs and 17 were analyzed. We categorized the formation of pleural effusion into 3 patterns: type 1, rapid and massive; type 2, slow and indolent; and type 3, with disease progression. CD4/CD8 ratio of 1.93 was selected as the cutoff threshold to predict survival. Most patients of types 1 and 2 effusions possessed pleural effusion with CD4/CD8 ratios ≥ 1.93. The median OS time in type 1, 2, and 3 patients were not reached, 24.8, and 2.6 months, respectively. The median PFS time in type 1, 2, and 3 patients were 35.5, 30.2, and 1.4 months, respectively. The median OS for the group with pleural effusion CD4/CD8 ≥ 1.93 and < 1.93 were not reached and 2.6 months. The median PFS of those with pleural effusion CD4/CD8 ≥ 1.93 and < 1.93 were 18.4 and 1.2 months. In conclusion, patients with type 1 and 2 effusion patterns had better survival than those with type 3. Type 1 might be interpreted as pseudoprogression of malignant pleural effusion. To evaluate the possible thermal risks associated with the storage of octogen (HMX), non-isothermal differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) experiments were conducted in order to ascertain the kinetic model and parameters governing its thermal decomposition. DSC measurements indicate that HMX underwent a crystal transformation prior to thermal decomposition. A kinetic model for the autocatalytic thermal decomposition process was developed through the analysis of its primary exothermic peaks. Subsequently, numerical simulations were performed using the aforementioned kinetic model to assess the potential thermal explosion hazard of HMX under two distinct storage conditions. The comparison was made between the models of HMX autocatalytic decomposition temperature and thermal explosion critical temperature under two distinct storage conditions. The prediction of the influence of ambient temperature on the critical temperature of thermal explosion is conducted simultaneously. Sedatives are commonly used for mechanically ventilated patients in intensive care units (ICU). However, a variety of sedatives are available and their efficacy and safety have been compared in numerous trials with inconsistent results. To resolve uncertainties regarding usefulness of these sedatives, we performed a systematic review and network meta-analysis. Randomized controlled trials comparing sedatives in mechanically ventilated ICU patients were included. Graph-theoretical methods were employed for network meta-analysis. A total of 51 citations comprising 52 RCTs were included in our analysis. Dexmedetomidine showed shorter MV duration than lorazepam (mean difference (MD): 68.7; 95% CI: 18.2-119.3 hours), midazolam (MD: 10.2; 95% CI: 7.7-12.7 hours) and propofol (MD: 3.4; 95% CI: 0.9-5.9 hours). Compared with dexmedetomidine, midazolam was associated with significantly increased risk of delirium (OR: 2.47; 95% CI: 1.17-5.19). Mercury and its compounds are known to be extremely toxic but widely distributed in environment. Although many works have been reported to efficiently detect mercury, development of simple and convenient sensors is still longed for quick analyzing mercury in water. In this work, a nanoscale metal-oxo cluster, (n-Bu4N)2[Mo5NaO13(OCH3)4(NO)], (MLPOM), organically-derivatized from monolacunary Lindqvist-type polyoxomolybdate, is found to specifically react with Hg2+ in methanol/water via structural transformation. The MLPOM methanol solution displays a color change from purple to brown within seconds after being mixed with an aqueous solution containing Hg2+. By comparing the structure of polyoxomolybdate before and after reaction, the color change is revealed to be the essentially structural transformation of MLPOM accelerated by Hg2+. Based on this discovery, MLPOM could be utilized as a colorimetric sensor to sense the existence of Hg2+, and a simple and label-free method is developed to selectively detect aqueous Hg2+. Raman spectroscopy has emerged as a promising tool for its noninvasive and nondestructive characterization of local chemical structures. However, spectrally overlapping components prevent the specific identification of hyperfine molecular information of different substances, because of limitations in the spectral resolving power. The challenge is to find a way of preserving scattered photons and retrieving hidden/buried Raman signatures to take full advantage of its chemical specificity. Here, we demonstrate a multichannel acquisition framework based on shift-excitation and slit-modulation, followed by mathematical post-processing, which enables a significant improvement in the spectral specificity of Raman characterization. The present technique, termed shift-excitation blind super-resolution Raman spectroscopy (SEBSR), uses multiple degraded spectra to beat the dispersion-loss trade-off and facilitate high-resolution applications. It overcomes a fundamental problem that has previously plagued high-resolution Raman spectroscopy: fine spectral resolution requires large dispersion, which is accompanied by extreme optical loss. Applicability is demonstrated by the perfect recovery of fine structure of the C-Cl bending mode as well as the clear discrimination of different polymorphs of mannitol. Due to its enhanced discrimination capability, this method offers a feasible route at encouraging a broader range of applications in analytical chemistry, materials and biomedicine. The impact of strong Programmed Death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression on the clinical outcomes of osimertinib in treatment naïve advanced Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR)-mutant Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) patients remains uncertain. We enrolled advanced NSCLC patients who harbored sensitizing EGFR mutation and were treated first-line with osimertinib between 2017 and 2021. The PD-L1 expression level was also tested. A total of 85 patients were included. The objective response rate to osimertinib was 78.9%, with the disease control rate being 90.8%. Median Progression-free Survival (PFS) was 22.1 months, while median Overall Survival (OS) was not reached (NR). Patients with the exon 19 deletion experienced better PFS than those with the exon 21 L858R mutation (NR vs 12.4 months, aHR 0.24 (95% CI, 0.10 to 0.57); p = 0.001). Seventy-one of these 85 patients had reported on their PD-L1 expression. Patients with a PD-L1 < 50% experienced longer PFS than patients with a PD-L1 ≧50% (26.5 vs 9.7 months, aHR 0.19 (95% CI, 0.06 to 0.67); p = 0.009). Additionally, patients with a PD-L1 < 50% experienced better OS than those with a PD-L1 ≧50% (NR vs 25.4 months, aHR 0.09 (95% CI, 0.01 to 0.70); p = 0.021). Strong expressions of PD-L1 in treatment naïve advanced EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients were associated with poor prognoses in those undergoing treatment with osimertinib as first-line therapy. In view of the problems of low straw decomposition rates and reduced soil fertility in southern Liaoning, China, we investigated the effects of no-tillage mode (NT), deep loosening + deep rotary tillage mode (PT), rotary tillage mode (RT) and the addition of decomposing agent (the next is called a decomposer) (NT + S, PT + S, RT + S) on the decomposition proportion of straw, respectively, by using the nylon net bag method in combination with 365-day field plot experiments. The decomposition rules of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin as well as the dynamics of soil organic carbon (SOC), soil microbial biomass carbon (MBC) and soil dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in straw returned to the field for 15, 35, 55, 75, 95, 145 and 365 days were analyzed. The results showed that in the short term, the decomposition of straw was better in both the rotray tillage and deep loosening + deep rotary modes than in the no-tillage mode, and the addition of decomposer significantly promoted the decomposition of straw and the release of carbon from straw, among them, the RT + S treatment had the highest straw decomposition proportion and carbon release proportion in all sampling periods. After a one year experimental cycle, the RT + S treatment showed the highest proportion of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin decomposition with 35.49%, 84.23% and 85.50%, respectively, and soil SOC, MBC and DOC contents were also higher than the other treatments with an increase of 2.30 g kg−1, 14.22 mg kg−1 and 25.10 mg kg−1, respectively, compared to the pre-experimental soil. Our results show that in the short term, to accelerate the decomposition rate of returned straw and increase the content of various forms of carbon in soil, rotary tillage can be used to return the straw to the field, while also spraying straw decomposer on its surface. This experiment used a new straw decomposer rich in a variety of microorganisms, combined with the comparison of a variety of straw return modes, and in-depth study of straw decomposition effects of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Thus, a scheme that can effectively improve the decomposition rate of straw and the content of various forms of organic carbon in soil within a short period of time was explored to provide theoretical support for the southern Liaoning. The impact of different first-line epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI)s to the clinical efficacy of osimertinib in EGFR-mutant non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with acquired T790M was still unclear. We enrolled 733 advanced EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients with gefitinib, erlotinib or afatinib as first-line EGFR-TKIs treatment for analysis. 373 patients received re-biopsies after progressive disease to first-line EGFR-TKIs treatment, and the total positive rate of T790M was 51.7%. 151 patients who harbored T790M received osimertinib as subsequent treatment. Among them, the median progression-free survival (PFS) of first-line EGFR-TKI (PFS1) was 14.0 months, and the median PFS of osimertinib (PFS2) was 10.1 months. The median PFS1 + PFS2 was 27.5 months, and the median overall survival from first-line EGFR-TKI was 61.3 months. Concerning different first-line EGFR-TKIs, the median PFS2 was 10.9 months in the gefitinib group, 10.0 months in the erlotinib group, and 6.7 months in the afatinib group (p = 0.534). The median PFS1 + PFS2 was 27.7 months, 26.8 months and 24.0 months in the gefitinib, erlotinib, and afatinib group, respectively (p = 0.575). In conclusion, both first-generation and second-generation EGFR-TKIs sequential osimertinib treatment provided good clinical efficacy in advanced EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients with acquired T790M mutation. It remains unclear how programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression interacts with anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) mutation, its variants, and the outcome of treatment. One hundred and twenty four out of 1255 patients (9.9%) were deemed ALK-positive by the Ventana IHC assay. PD-L1 status and ALK variants were available in 100 and 59 patients, respectively. PD-L1 positive (TPS ≥ 1%) and strong positive (TPS ≥ 50%) rate was 50% and 16%, respectively. A total of 64 variant types were detected in 59 patients. V1 (32.8%) and V3a/b (28.1%) were the most common variants. There was no significant association between ALK variants and the PD-L1 expression. The presence of V3a/b subtype independently predicted a worse overall survival in patients receiving ALK inhibitor(s) (aHR 5.10 [95% CI 1.22–21.25], P = 0.025) and platinum plus pemetrexed (aHR 9.62 [95% CI 1.90–48.80], P = 0.006). While incorporating ALK variants and PD-L1 expression together, patients with non-V3a/b/positive PD-L1 showed a trend towards longer OS. In conclusion, ALK-positive NSCLC patients possess a high PD-L1 expression rate. Acrylamide is an industrial chemical that has attracted considerable attention due to its presumed carcinogenic, neurotoxic, and cytotoxic effects. In this study we investigated possible acrylamide reproductive toxic effects in female mice. Mice were fed an acrylamide-containing diet for 6 weeks. Our results showed the following effects of an acrylamide-containing diet. (1) Ovary weights were reduced in acrylamide-treated mice and oocyte developmental competence was also reduced, as shown by reduced GVBD and polar body extrusion rates. (2) Acrylamide feeding resulted in aberrant oocyte cytoskeletons, as shown by an increased abnormal spindle rate and confirmed by disrupted γ-tubulin and p-MAPK localization. (3) Acrylamide feeding resulted in oxidative stress and oocyte early stage apoptosis, as shown by increased ROS levels and p-MAPK expression. (4) Fluorescence intensity analysis showed that DNA methylation levels were reduced in acrylamide-treated oocytes and histone methylation levels were also altered, as H3K9me2, H3K9me3, H3K4me2, and H3K27me3 levels were reduced after acrylamide treatment. (5) After acrylamide feeding, the litter sizes of acrylamide-treated mice were significantly smaller compared to thus of control mice. Thus, our results indicated that acrylamide might affect oocyte quality through its effects on cytoskeletal integrity, ROS generation, apoptosis induction, and epigenetic modifications. Zirconium dioxide provides an exceptional prototype material for studying the redistribution of the polaron holes and its magnetic coupling with their nearby anions owning to the difference oxygen binding behavior in the monoclinic phase. Here, we perform a comprehensive study of the p-electron magnetism in the nitrogen doped 2 × 2 × 2 monoclinic ZrO2 based on spin-polarized density functional theory. Nitrogen substitutions make the system display half-metallic properties, and the origin of room temperature ferromagnetism ascribes to the p-p coupling interaction between N 2p and the host 2p states. The charge density difference and Mülliken population analyses provide evidences of charge redistributions. Our results reveal that the polaron transfer may alter the magnetic properties and it is greatly facilitated ferromagnetic coupling if the polaron holes are localized around a single anion dopant. It is great of importance to better understand the effects of the long-term fertilization on crop yields, soil properties and nitrogen (N) use efficiency in a rotation cropping cultivation system under the conditions of frequent soil disturbance. Therefore, a long-term field experiment of 40 years under soybean-maize rotation was performed in a brown soil to investigate the effects of inorganic and organic fertilizers on crop yields, soil properties and nitrogen use efficiency. Equal amounts of 15N-labelled urea with 20.8% of atom were used and uniformly applied into the micro-plots of the treatments with N, NPK, M1NPK, M2NPK before soybean sowing, respectively. Analyses showed that a total of 18.3–32.5% of applied N fertilizer was taken up by crops in the first soybean growing season, and that the application of manure combining with chemical fertilizer M2NPK demonstrated the highest rate of 15N recovery and increased soil organic matter (SOM) and Olsen phosphorus (Olsen P), thereby sustaining a higher crop yield and alleviating soil acidification. Data also showed that no significant difference was observed in the 15N recovery from residue N in the second maize season plant despite of showing a lower 15N recovery compared with the first soybean season. The recovery rates of 15N in soils were ranged from 38.2 to 49.7% by the end of the second cropping season, and the residuals of 15N distribution in soil layers revealed significant differences. The M2NPK treatment demonstrated the highest residual amounts of 15N, and a total of 50% residual 15N were distributed in a soil layer of 0–20 cm. Our results showed that long-term application of organic fertilizers could effectively promote N use efficiency by increasing SOM and improving soil fertility, and thus leading to an increase in crop yields.
