Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) is generally added to the improve pregnancy outcomes of hormone replacement therapy cycles among patients with adenomyosis. We aimed to investigate whether adding GnRH-a can result in better pregnancy outcomes. This retrospective analysis included 341 patients with adenomyosis who underwent frozen embryo transfer (FET) after in vitro fertilization (IVF). The control group was treated only with hormone replacement therapy cycles to prepare the endometrium, and GnRH-a was added to the study group before hormone administration to adjust the menstruation cycle. Based on the similar baseline values and embryological data, there was no significant difference in the clinical pregnancy rates (40.63% vs. 42.54%, P = 0.72) and live birth rates (23.75% vs. 23.75%, P = 0.74) of the control and study groups. Other secondary outcomes, including the rates of clinical miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, preterm birth and term birth, were not significantly different between the two groups. Compared with the hormone replacement therapy cycle alone, GnRH-a downregulation based on a hormone replacement therapy cycle may not increase the rate of clinical pregnancy or live birth of IVF-ET with FET among infertile patients with adenomyosis. Recent studies have shown a correlation between high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and bone mineral density (BMD) in adults, but their relationship is unclear in adolescents. This study aimed to explore whether a correlation existed between them among adolescents aged 12–19. Data analyzed in our study was fetched from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database 2011–2018. The relationship between HDL-C level and total BMD value was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression models, fitted smoothing curves, and generalized additive models. 3770 participants participated in this analysis. After adjusting for all relevant covariates involved in this study, we found a negative correlation between HDL-C levels and total bone density in male adolescents.Furthermore, the stratified analysis showed that all covariables-adjusted models retained the negative correlation excepting female, black, or Mexican American subgroups. An inverted U-shaped curve represented the correlation of HDL-C and total BMD among adolescents aged 16 to 19, and the turning point was 1.06 mmol/L. After adjusting for all relevant covariates involved in this study, the study found a negative correlation between HDL-C levels and total BMD in male adolescents aged 12 to 19, particularly among those of races other than Black and Mexican. There was a saturation effect between HDL-C level and total BMD in 16–19-year-old adolescents. The turning point was 1.06 mmol/L. Susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) can be a useful tool to depict vascular structures in brain tumors as well as micro-bleedings, which represent tumor invasion to blood vessels and could also be representative of tumoral angiogenesis. In this study, we investigated the relationship between SWI features and glioma grades, and the expression of key molecular markers isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1), O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT), and 1p19q. The gliomas were graded according to the intratumoral susceptibility signals (ITSS). We used the Mann-Whitney test to analyze the relationship between ITSS grades and the pathological level and status of these markers. Additionally, the area under the curve (AUC) was used to determine the predictive value of glioma SWI characteristics for the molecular marker status. In these cases, the ITSS grades of low-grade gliomas (LGG) were significantly lower than those of high-grade gliomas (HGG). Similarly, the ITSS grades of gliomas with IDH1 mutations and MGMT methylation were significantly lower than those of gliomas with Wild-type IDH1 and unmethylated MGMT. However, ITSS grades showed no relationship with 1p19q deletion status, while they did show significant predictive ability for glioma grade, IDH1 mutation, and MGMT methylation. These findings indicate an association between some molecular markers and cerebral microbleeds in gliomas, providing a new avenue for non-invasive prediction of molecular genetics in gliomas and an important basis for preoperative personalized surgical treatment based on molecular pathology. Waterlogging has been suggested to affect carbon (C) turnover in wetlands, but how it affects C allocation and stocks remains unclear in alpine wetlands. Using in situ 13CO2 pulse labelling, we investigated C allocation in both waterlogged and non-waterlogged sites in the Zoigê wetlands on the Tibetan Plateau in August 2011. More than 50% of total 13C fixed by photosynthesis was lost via shoot respiration. Shoots recovered about 19% of total 13C fixed by photosynthesis at both sites. Only about 26% of total fixed 13C was translocated into the belowground pools. Soil organic C pool accounted for 19% and roots recovered about 5-7% of total fixed 13C at both sites. Waterlogging significantly reduced soil respiration and very little 13C was lost via soil respiration in the alpine wetlands compared to that in grasslands. We conclude that waterlogging did not significantly alter C allocations among the C pools except the 13CO2 efflux derived from soil respiration and that shoots made similar contributions to C sequestration as the belowground parts in the Zoigê alpine wetlands. Therefore, changes in waterlogging due to climate change will not affect C assimilate partitioning but soil C efflux. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
