Abstract Abu Marawat area in the Central Eastern Desert of Egypt is a very promising mineralization district located in the Golden Triangle area. The current study provides an integrated approach from multisource datasets including; remote sensing, airborne geophysical spectrometry and magnetic data supported by field studies and spectroscopic analyses for delineating potential mineralization localities. Several remote sensing techniques were adopted including; Band Ratios, Relative Band Depth, Mineralogical Indices, Spectral Angle Mapper, and Constrained Energy Minimization. These techniques showed that the alteration mineral assemblage is mainly, kaolinite, sericite, and iron oxides, with less abundant chlorite, epidote, and carbonates. In addition, the radiometry data were processed to map the localities with the highest possibility of potassic alteration abundance by integrating the potassium distribution, K/eTh ratio, and the F-parameter maps. The surface and subsurface linear structural features were also mapped using Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and aeromagnetic data, respectively. The surface linear structures were found exhibiting E-W and NE-SW trends, while, the subsurface structures showed dominant NW–SE trend. All the depicted fault trends match well with the local and regional geological and tectonic setting of the study area suggesting structural control on the mineralization in this area. Integration between the results obtained from both the remote sensing and the geophysical data was conducted by a GIS weighted overlay model. The obtained mineralization potentiality map highlights eight potential localities for mineralization. The accuracy of the adopted methodology was demonstrated through fieldwork and spectral analyses; several alteration indicators were observed, including quartz veins, iron oxides, kaolinite, malachite, montmorillonite, chlorite, talc, and sericite alteration indicator minerals. The adopted remote sensing-geophysical approach showed being very effective for mapping the hydrothermal gold-related alteration zones, and is recommended for other similar investigations.

Diabetes is a prevalent and serious metabolic disorder affecting millions globally, and it poses extensive health risks due to elevated blood glucose levels. One promising approach for managing diabetes is the inhibition of α-glucosidase, an enzyme that plays a crucial role in carbohydrate metabolism. Targeting α-glucosidase can help delay glucose absorption, thus controlling postprandial blood sugar spikes. Dihydropyrimidones, a core structural class present in various biologically active natural compounds, have been recognized for their diverse therapeutic potential, including anti-diabetic properties. In this study, we evaluated a library of previously synthesized 37 Dihydropyrimidone derivatives to assess their potential as α-glucosidase inhibitors. We identified 34 derivatives with significant inhibitory activity, exhibiting IC 50 values in the range of 5.30-56.72 µM. Among these, compounds 2, 4-7, 9-11, 13-16, 31, 32, and 33 demonstrated high potency, with IC 50 values below 20 µM; the most active compound, 5, achieved an IC 50 of 5.30 µM. A detailed kinetic study on compound 5 revealed a competitive inhibition mode with a Ki value of 16.10 ± 0.0075 µM. Additionally, cytotoxicity assays confirmed that compound 5 is non-toxic to BJ cell lines, underscoring its safety for therapeutic use. The computational studies further supported the inhibitory potential by illustrating key interactions and binding affinities between the Dihydropyrimidone derivatives and the α-glucosidase, highlighting these compounds as promising candidates for diabetes management., Competing Interests: Declarations. Digital quantification of gait can be used to measure aging- and disease-related decline in mobility. Gait performance also predicts prognosis, disease progression, and response to therapies. Most gait analysis systems require large amounts of space, resources, and expertise to implement and are not widely accessible. Thus, there is a need for a portable system that accurately characterizes gait. Here, depth video from two portable cameras accurately reconstructed gait metrics comparable to those reported by a pressure-sensitive walkway. 392 research participants walked across a four-meter pressure-sensitive walkway while depth video was recorded. Gait speed, cadence, and step and stride durations and lengths strongly correlated (r > 0.9) between modalities, with root-mean-squared-errors (RMSE) of 0.04 m/s, 2.3 steps/min, 0.03 s, and 0.05-0.08 m for speed, cadence, step/stride duration, and step/stride length, respectively. Step, stance, and double support durations (gait cycle percentage) significantly correlated (r > 0.6) between modalities, with 5% RMSE for step and stance and 10% RMSE for double support. In an exploratory analysis, gait speed from both modalities significantly related to healthy, mild, moderate, or severe categorizations of Charleson Comorbidity Indices (ANOVA, Tukey's HSD, p < 0.0125). Toxoplasma infection in humans is considered due to direct contact with infected cats. Toxoplasma infection (an endemic disease) has the potential to affect various organs and systems (brain, eyes, heart, lungs, liver, and lymph nodes). Bilinear incidence rate and constant population (birth rate is equal to death rate) are used in the literature to explain the dynamics of Toxoplasmosis disease transmission in humans and cats. The goal of this study is to consider the mathematical model of Toxoplasma disease with harmonic mean type incident rate and also consider that the population of humans and cats is not equal (birth rate and the death rate are not equal). In examining Toxoplasma transmission dynamics in humans and cats, harmonic mean incidence rates are better than bilinear incidence rates. The disease dynamics are first schematically illustrated, and then the law of mass action is applied to obtain nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Analysis of the boundedness, positivity, and equilibrium points of the system has been analyzed. The reproduction number is calculated using the next-generation matrix technique. The stability of disease-free and endemic equilibrium are analyzed. Sensitivity analysis is also done for reproduction number. Numerical simulation shows that the infection is spread in the population when the contact rate β h and β c increases while the infection is reduced when the recovery rate δ h increases. The effects and underlying mechanisms of gastrodin treatment on hypertensive vascular dysfunction and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) were determined in vitro and in vivo. Using a pharmacological target network interaction analysis, 151 common targets and a PPI network were identified containing the top 10 hub genes. Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) analysis identified the PI3K/AKT pathway as a significantly enriched pathway. Both spontaneous hypertensive rats (SHRs) and Wistar Kyoto rats were used to assess the therapeutic effects of gastrodin on hypertension. Gastrodin treatment of the SHRs resulted in a marked attenuation of elevated blood pressure, pulse wave velocity, and pathological changes in the abdominal aorta. Moreover, gastrodin treatment significantly inhibited cell growth and downregulated the expression of PCNA as well as the p-PI3K/PI3K and p-AKT/AKT levels in angiotensin II-stimulated VSMCs. Taken together, gastrodin treatment attenuates blood pressure elevation, vascular dysfunction, and proliferation of VSMCs and inhibits the activation of the PI3K/AKT pathway., (© 2023. Better electrical insulation and thermal properties of vegetable oil with nanoparticles are crucial for its uses as a replacement for conventional previous lubricants used in heavy and light industries for cutting and machining. In this study, a magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of a Brinkman-type nanofluid is used to investigate an infinite vertical plate with chemical reaction, heat radiation, and MHD flow. In order to improve the machining and cutting powers of regular vegetable oil, four distinct types of nanoparticles were selected to be the base fluid. The problem is modeled by coupled system partial differential equations (PDEs), and the results are generalized by the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional differential operator for the exponential non-singular kernel. In order to prepare nanofluids, four different types of nanoparticles, namely graphene oxide (GO), molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2 ), titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), and aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ) are suspended separately in vegetable oil. The results of skin friction, the Nusselt number, and the Sherwood number are computed in various tables. It is found that GO nanoparticles, (followed by MoS 2 , TiO 2 , and Al 2 O 3 ) are the materials that can heat transfer at the maximum rate. The heat transfer rate for GO is found to be the greatest with an enhancement up to 19.83% when 4% of nanoparticles are dispersed, followed by molybdenum disulfide at 16.96%, titanium dioxide at 16.25%, and alumina at 15.80%., (© 2023. Several scientists are interested in recent developments in nanotechnology and nanoscience. Grease is an essential component of many machines and engines because it helps keep them cool by reducing friction between their various elements. In sealed life applications including centralized lubrication systems, electrical motors, bearings, logging and mining machinery, truck wheel hubs, construction, landscaping, and gearboxes, greases are also utilized. Nanoparticles are added to convectional grease to improve its cooling and lubricating properties. More specifically, the current study goal is to investigate open channel flow while taking grease into account as a Maxwell fluid with MoS 2 nanoparticles suspended in it. The Caputo-Fabrizio time-fractional derivative is used to convert the issue from a linked classical order PDE to a local fractional model. To determine the precise solutions for the velocity, temperature, and concentration distributions, two integral transform techniques the finite Fourier sine and the Laplace transform technique are jointly utilized. The resultant answers are physically explored and displayed using various graphs. It is important to note that the fractional model, which offers a variety of integral curves, more accurately depicts the flow behavior than the classical model. Skin friction, the Nusselt number, and the Sherwood number are engineering-related numbers that are quantitatively determined and displayed in tabular form. The prime motive to conduct this communication is to explicate hydrothermal attributes of water by inducing new composition of nanoparticles termed as ternary particles. For this purpose, two differently natured groups one with lesser densities (Carbon nanotubes, Graphene and Aluminium oxide) and with higher densities (Copper oxide, Copper and Silver) are accounted. A 3D permeable surface is considered as a physical configuration of problem by providing dual stretching. Initially, mathematical structuring in dimensional representation expressing the constitutive relations for mass, momentum and energy conservation is manifested. Later on, a set of similar variables are executed to express attained coupled system into ordinary form. Numerical simulations are performed to find solution by employing shooting and RK-4 methods in conjunction. Description about change is displayed through graphical visualization. Subsequently, temperature distribution and heat flux coefficient against sundry variables are also measured and comprehensively discussed in pictorial and tabular format. Wall drag coefficients along (x, y) directions are also computed. It is inferred from the outcomes that velocity, temperature and concentration of base fluid is higher for ternary group 1 containing particles of low densities than for group 2 with more denser particles. It is also deduced that elevation in temperature of fluid is revealed against Soret number whereas contrary aspects is observed in view of concentration distribution. In this study we analyzed the flow, heat and mass transfer behavior of Casson nanofluid past an exponentially stretching surface under the impact of activation energy, Hall current, thermal radiation, heat source/sink, Brownian motion and thermophoresis. Transverse magnetic field with the assumption of small Reynolds number is implemented vertically. The governing partial nonlinear differential equations of the flow, heat and mass transfer are transformed into ordinary differential equations by using similarity transformation and solved numerically by using Matlab bvp4c package. The impact of each of the Hall current parameter, thermal radiation parameter, heat source/sink parameter, Brownian motion parameter, Prandtl number, thermophoresis parameter and magnetic parameter on velocity, concentration and temperature, is discussed through graphs. The skin friction coefficient along the x-and z-directions, the local Nusselt number and the Sherwood number are calculated numerically to look into the inside behavior of the emerging parameters. It is witnessed that the flow velocity is a diminishing function of the thermal radiation parameter and the behavior has observed in the case of Hall parameter. Hybrid Nano fluid has emerged to be an important field of study due to its better thermal performance compared to other Nano fluids. The problem of carbon nanotubes rotating between two stretchable discs while suspended in water is investigated in this research. Due to numerous uses of this problem, such as metal mining, drawing plastic films, and cooling continuous filaments, this problem is essential to industry. Considerations here include suction/injection, heat radiation, and the Darcy-Forchheimer scheme with convective boundary conditions. The partial differential equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations by using appropriate transformation. To examine the approximate solution validation, training and testing procedures are interpreted and the performance is verified through error histogram and mean square error results. To describe the behavior of flow quantities, several tabular and graphical representations of a variety of physical characteristics of importance are presented and discussed in detail. The impact of chemical reaction and activation energy plays a vital role in the analysis of fluid dynamics and its thermal properties. The application of the flow of fluid is significantly considered in nuclear reactors, automobiles, manufacturing setups, electronic appliances etc. This study explores the impacts of activation energy and chemical reaction on the magnetohydrodynamic Darcy-Forchheimer squeezed Casson fluid flow through a porous material across the horizontal channel where the two parallel plates are assumed to be in motion. By using similarity variables, partial differential equations are converted to ordinary differential equations. Numerical method is applied using MATLAB to solve the problems and acquire the data for velocity field, thermal distribution, and concentration distribution. The graphs indicate that fluid velocity and temperature increases as the plates are brought closer. In addition, there was a correlation between a rise in the Hartmann number and a decrease in the fluid's velocity because of the existence of strong Lorentz forces. The temperature and the concentration of the liquid will increase due to the Brownian motion. Automated multi-organ segmentation plays an essential part in the computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) of chest X-ray fluoroscopy. However, developing a CAD system for the anatomical structure segmentation remains challenging due to several indistinct structures, variations in the anatomical structure shape among different individuals, the presence of medical tools, such as pacemakers and catheters, and various artifacts in the chest radiographic images. In this paper, we propose a robust deep learning segmentation framework for the anatomical structure in chest radiographs that utilizes a dual encoder-decoder convolutional neural network (CNN). The first network in the dual encoder-decoder structure effectively utilizes a pre-trained VGG19 as an encoder for the segmentation task. The pre-trained encoder output is fed into the squeeze-and-excitation (SE) to boost the network's representation power, which enables it to perform dynamic channel-wise feature calibrations. The calibrated features are efficiently passed into the first decoder to generate the mask. We integrated the generated mask with the input image and passed it through a second encoder-decoder network with the recurrent residual blocks and an attention the gate module to capture the additional contextual features and improve the segmentation of the smaller regions. Three public chest X-ray datasets are used to evaluate the proposed method for multi-organs segmentation, such as the heart, lungs, and clavicles, and single-organ segmentation, which include only lungs. Highly efficient adsorbent was prepared for the removal of carbofuran and imidacloprid pesticides from wastewater. The silica monolith anchored graphene oxide composite was synthesized by the modified Fischer esterification protocol. The composite showed improved adsorption capacity for the removal of pesticides from wastewater. Graphene oxide was synthesized using the modified Hummer's method, while the silica monolith was prepared via sol-gel method. The composite was characterized via X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infra-red, Brunauer Emmett and Teller (BET/BJH) analysis, zeta potential, and FESEM imaging. Different adsorption parameters such as pH, contact time, adsorbate and adsorbent concentration, and temperature were optimized for the adsorption of pesticides. The equilibrium and kinetic models were applied to the adsorption process of the pesticides. Qe of the composite as found to be 342.46 mg g -1 for imidacloprid and 37.15 mg g -1 for carbofuran. The adsorption process followed the pseudo 2nd order kinetic model for carbofuran (R 2 ~0.9971) and imidacloprid (R 2 ~0.9967). The Freundlich isotherm best fitted to the adsorption data of the pesticides with R 2 value of 0.9956 for carbofuran and 0.95 for imidacloprid. Living organisms including fishes, microbes, and animals can live in extremely cold weather. To stay alive in cold environments, these species generate antifreeze proteins (AFPs), also referred to as ice-binding proteins. Moreover, AFPs are extensively utilized in many important fields including medical, agricultural, industrial, and biotechnological. Several predictors were constructed to identify AFPs. However, due to the sequence and structural heterogeneity of AFPs, correct identification is still a challenging task. It is highly desirable to develop a more promising predictor. In this research, a novel computational method, named AFP-LXGB has been proposed for prediction of AFPs more precisely. The information is explored by Dipeptide Composition (DPC), Grouped Amino Acid Composition (GAAC), Position Specific Scoring Matrix-Segmentation-Autocorrelation Transformation (Sg-PSSM-ACT), and Pseudo Position Specific Scoring Matrix Tri-Slicing (PseTS-PSSM). Keeping the benefits of ensemble learning, these feature sets are concatenated into different combinations. The best feature set is selected by Extremely Randomized Tree-Recursive Feature Elimination (ERT-RFE). The models are trained by Light eXtreme Gradient Boosting (LXGB), Random Forest (RF), and Extremely Randomized Tree (ERT). Among classifiers, LXGB has obtained the best prediction results. The novel method (AFP-LXGB) improved the accuracies by 3.70% and 4.09% than the best methods. The global consequences of Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been evident by several hundreds of demises of human beings; hence such plagues are significantly imperative to predict. For this purpose, the mathematical formulation has been proved to be one of the best tools for the assessment of present circumstances and future predictions. In this article, we propose a fractional epidemic model of coronavirus (COVID-19) with vaccination effects. An arbitrary order model of COVID-19 is analyzed through three different fractional operators namely, Caputo, Atangana-Baleanu-Caputo (ABC), and Caputo-Fabrizio (CF), respectively. The fractional dynamics are composed of the interaction among the human population and the external environmental factors of infected peoples. It gives an extra description of the situation of the epidemic. Both the classical and modern approaches have been tested for the proposed model. The qualitative analysis has been checked through the Banach fixed point theory in the sense of a fractional operator. The stability concept of Hyers-Ulam idea is derived. The Newton interpolation scheme is applied for numerical solutions and by assigning values to different parameters. The numerical works in this research verified the analytical results. Gold nanoparticles are commonly used as a tracer in laboratories. They are biocompatible and can transport heat energy to tumor cells via a variety of clinical techniques. As cancer cells are tiny, properly sized nanoparticles were introduced into the circulation for invasion. As a result, gold nanoparticles are highly effective. Therefore, the current research investigates the magnetohydrodynamic free convection flow of Casson nanofluid in an inclined channel. The blood is considered as a base fluid, and gold nanoparticles are assumed to be uniformly dispersed in it. The above flow regime is formulated in terms of partial differential equations. The system of derived equations with imposed boundary conditions is non-dimensionalized using appropriate dimensionless variables. Fourier's and Fick's laws are used to fractionalize the classical dimensionless model. The Laplace and Fourier sine transformations with a new transformation are used for the closed-form solutions of the considered problem. Finally, the results are expressed in terms of a specific function known as the Mittag-Leffler function. Various figures and tables present the effect of various physical parameters on the achieved results. Graphical results conclude that the fractional Casson fluid model described a more realistic aspect of the fluid velocity profile, temperature, and concentration profile than the classical Casson fluid model. The heat transfer rate and Sherwood number are calculated and presented in tabular form. Accurate identification of drug-targets in human body has great significance for designing novel drugs. Compared with traditional experimental methods, prediction of drug-targets via machine learning algorithms has enhanced the attention of many researchers due to fast and accurate prediction. In this study, we propose a machine learning-based method, namely XGB-DrugPred for accurate prediction of druggable proteins. The features from primary protein sequences are extracted by group dipeptide composition, reduced amino acid alphabet, and novel encoder pseudo amino acid composition segmentation. To select the best feature set, eXtreme Gradient Boosting-recursive feature elimination is implemented. The best feature set is provided to eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGB), Random Forest, and Extremely Randomized Tree classifiers for model training and prediction. The performance of these classifiers is evaluated by tenfold cross-validation. The paper aims to investigate the channel flow of second grade visco-elastic fluid generated due to an oscillating wall. The effect of heat and mass transfer has been taken into account. The phenomenon has been modelled in terms of PDEs. The constitutive equations are fractionalized by using the definition of the Caputo fractional operator with Fick's and Fourier's Laws. The system of fractional PDEs is non-dimensionalized by using appropriate dimensionless variables. The closed-form solutions of thermal and concentration boundary layers are obtained by using the Laplace and finite Fourier-Sine transforms, while the momentum equation is solved by a numerical approach by Zakian using [Formula: see text]. Furthermore, the parametric influence of various embedded physical parameters on momentum, temperature, and concentration distributions is depicted through various graphs. It is observed that the fractional approach is more convenient and realistic as compared to the classical approach. It is worth noting that the increasing values of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] retard the boundary layer profile. For instance, this behaviour of [Formula: see text] is significant where boundary control is necessary. That is, in the case of resonance, the physical solution may be obtained by adding the effect of MHD. The Reynolds number is useful in characterising the transport properties of a fluid or a particle travelling through a fluid. The Reynolds number is one of the main controlling parameters in all viscous flow. It determines whether the fluid flow is laminar or turbulent. The evolution of the rate of heat, mass transfer, and skin friction on the left plate with various physical parameters are presented in tables. These quantities are of high interest for engineers. This study aim to examine the channel flow of a couple stress Casson fluid. This physical phenomenon is derived in terms of partial differential equations. The subjected governing PDE's are non-dimensionalized with the help of dimensionless variables. The dimensionless classical model is generalized by transforming it to the time fractional model using Fick's and Fourier's Laws. The general fractional model is solved by applying the Laplace and Fourier integral transformation. Furthermore, the parametric influence of various physical parameters like Casson parameter, couple stress parameter, Grashof number, Schmidt number and Prandtl number on velocity, temperature, and concentration distributions is shown graphically and discussed. In recent years, the use of magnetic particles for biomedicine and clinical therapies has gained considerable attention. Unique features of magnetic particles have made it possible to apply them in medical techniques. These techniques not only provide minimal invasive diagnostic tools but also transport medicine within the cell. In recent years, MRI, drug supply to infected tissue, Hyperthermia are more enhanced by the use of magnetic particles. The present study aims to observe heat and mass transport through blood flow containing magnetic particles in a cylindrical tube. Furthermore, the magnetic field is applied vertically to blood flow direction. The Caputo time fractional derivative is used to model the problem. The obtained partial fractional derivatives are solved using Laplace transform and finite Hankel transform. Furthermore, the effect of various physical parameters of our interest has also been observed through various graphs. It has been noticed that the motion of blood and magnetic particles is decelerated when the particle mass parameter and the magnetic parameter are increased. Capillary endothelial cells of the human blood-brain barrier (BBB) express high levels of P-glycoprotein (P-gp, encoded by ABCB1) and ABCG2 (encoded by ABCG2). However, little information is available regarding ATP-binding cassette transporters expressed at the zebrafish BBB, which has emerged as a potential model system. We report the characterization and tissue localization of two genes that are similar to ABCB1, zebrafish abcb4 and abcb5. When stably expressed in HEK293 cells, both Abcb4 and Abcb5 conferred resistance to P-gp substrates; however, Abcb5 poorly transported doxorubicin and mitoxantrone compared to zebrafish Abcb4. Additionally, Abcb5 did not transport the fluorescent P-gp probes BODIPY-ethylenediamine or LDS 751, while they were transported by Abcb4. High-throughput screening of 90 human P-gp substrates confirmed that Abcb4 has an overlapping substrate specificity profile with P-gp. In the brain vasculature, RNAscope probes for abcb4 colocalized with staining by the P-gp antibody C219, while abcb5 was not detected. The abcb4 probe also colocalized with claudin-5 in brain endothelial cells. Abcb4 and Abcb5 had different tissue localizations in multiple zebrafish tissues, potentially indicating different functions. The data suggest that zebrafish Abcb4 functionally phenocopies P-gp and that the zebrafish may serve as a model to study the role of P-gp at the BBB., (© 2021. The Author(s).)

In the present article, we investigate the dual slip effect namely the velocity slip and thermal slip conditions on MHD flow past a thin needle. The entropy generation for the incompressible fluids that's water and acetone that flowing above the thin needle is discussed. The energy dissipating term and the magnetic effect is included in the axial direction. The leading partial differential equations are transformed to ODE by an appropriate similarity transformation and solved using a numerical technique that is the Quasilinearization method. The terms for the rate of entropy generation, the Bejan number, and the irreversibility distribution ratio are discussed. Each dimensionless number is shown with velocity slip and also with the magnetic parameter is presented in graphical form. In the result, we conclude that the entropy generation rate is increasing with the increase in thermal slip parameter also some increasing effect is found as the size of the needle increases., (© 2021. Shikonin and its derivatives are the main components of traditional Chinese medicine, Zicao. The pharmacological potential of shikonin and its derivatives have been extensively studied. Yet, less is known about the microbial assemblages associated with shikonin producing Borage plants. We studied microbial profiles of two Borage species, Echium plantagineum (EP) and Lithospermum erythrorhizon (LE), to identify the dynamics of microbial colonization pattern within three rhizo-compatments and two distinct soil types. Results of α and β-diversity via PacBio sequencing revealed significantly higher microbial richness and diversity in the natural soil along with a decreasing microbial gradient across rhizosphere to endosphere. Our results displayed genotype and soil type-dependent fine-tuning of microbial profiles. The host plant was found to exert effects on the physical and chemical properties of soil, resulting in reproducibly different micro-biota. Analysis of differentially abundant microbial OTUs displayed Planctomycetes and Bacteroidetes to be specifically enriched in EP and LE rhizosphere while endosphere was mostly prevailed by Cyanobacteria. Network analysis to unfold co-existing microbial species displayed different types of positive and negative interactions within different communities. The data provided here will help to identify microbes associated with different rhizo-compartments of potential host plants. In the future, this might be helpful for manipulating the keystone microbes for ecosystem functioning.

The investigation on metalenses have been rapidly developing, aiming to bring compact optical devices with superior properties to the market. Realizing miniature optics at the UV frequency range in particular has been challenging as the available transparent materials have limited range of dielectric constants. In this work we introduce a low absorption loss and low refractive index dielectric material magnesium oxide, MgO, as an ideal candidate for metalenses operating at UV frequencies. We theoretically investigate metalens designs capable of efficient focusing over a broad UV frequency range (200-400 nm). The presented metalenses are composed of sub-wavelength MgO nanoblocks, and characterized according to the geometric Pancharatnam-Berry phase method using FDTD method. The presented broadband metalenses can focus the incident UV light on tight focal spots (182 nm) with high numerical aperture ([Formula: see text]). The polarization conversion efficiency of the metalens unit cell and focusing efficiency of the total metalens are calculated to be as high as 94%, the best value reported in UV range so far. In addition, the metalens unit cell can be hybridized to enable lensing at multiple polarization states. The presented highly efficient MgO metalenses can play a vital role in the development of UV nanophotonic systems and could pave the way towards the world of miniaturization.

Viscoelastic fluid is an advanced fluid which exhibits both elastic and viscous properties. Whereas rotation of viscoelastic fluid is a very complex phenomenon and has an immense amount of applications in engineering and product making industries. Due to various applications in real life researchers are working to understand the rheology of viscoelastic fluids. Viscoelastic dusty fluids are used in gas cooling systems. In nuclear reactors, dusty fluids are used to lower the temperature of the system. Such fluids are also used in centrifugal separators, which separate solid particles from the liquid state, etc. Therefore, in the present study, viscoelastic dusty fluid is analyzed. More precisely free convective Couette flow under the influence of the transversely applied uniform magnetic field in a rotating frame is considered. The subject fluid is driven by the sine oscillations of the upper plate along with the effect of free convection. Due to rotation, the fluid and dust particles have complex velocities which is the sum of primary velocity and secondary velocity. The flow regime is modeled in terms of partial differential equations. To non-dimensionalize the system of governing equations, dimensionless variables have been derived through Buckingham-Pi theorem. The system of partial differential equations is solved through assumed periodic solutions (Poincare-Light Hill Technique). The expressions for skin friction (shear stresses at [Formula: see text]) and Nusselt number (the rate of heat transfer) are also calculated. Moreover, parametric influence on Nusselt number, and velocity profile of the fluid and the dust particles, is discussed. It is observed that increase in rotation parameter η causes retardation in the velocity of dust particles and the fluid. This is due to the fact that the increase in η enhances the Coriolis forces that are in fact inertial forces, causing a retardation in the velocity of the fluid phase and the dust phase.

This article is devoted to studying Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD)'s combined effect and porosity on the entropy generation in two incompressible Newtonian fluids over a thin needle moving in a parallel stream. Two Newtonian fluids (air and water) are taken into consideration in this study. The viscous dissipation term is involved in the energy equation. The assumption is that the free stream velocity is in the direction of the positive x-axis-(axial direction). The thin needle moves in the same or opposite direction of free stream velocity. The reduced similar governing equations are solved numerically with the help of shooting and the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. The expressions for dimensionless volumetric entropy generation rate and Bejan number are obtained through using similarity transformations. The effects of the magnetic parameter, porosity parameter, Eckert number, Bejan number, irreversibility parameter, Nusselt number, and skin friction are discussed graphically in detail for and taken as Newtonian fluids. The results are compared with published work and are found in excellent agreement.

Recently, novel coronavirus is a serious global issue and having a negative impact on the economy of the whole world. Like other countries, it also effected the economy and people of Pakistan. According to the publicly reported data, the first case of novel corona virus in Pakistan was reported on 27th February 2020. The aim of the present study is to describe the mathematical model and dynamics of COVID-19 in Pakistan. To investigate the spread of coronavirus in Pakistan, we develop the SEIR time fractional model with newly, developed fractional operator of Atangana-Baleanu. We present briefly the analysis of the given model and discuss its applications using world health organization (WHO) reported data for Pakistan. We consider the available infection cases from 19th March 2020, till 31st March 2020 and accordingly, various parameters are fitted or estimated. It is worth noting that we have calculated the basic reproduction number [Formula: see text] which shows that virus is spreading rapidly. Furthermore, stability analysis of the model at disease free equilibrium DFE and endemic equilibriums EE is performed to observe the dynamics and transmission of the model. Finally, the AB fractional model is solved numerically. To show the effect of the various embedded parameters like fractional parameter [Formula: see text] on the model, various graphs are plotted. It is worth noting that the base of our investigation, we have predicted the spread of disease for next 200 days.

In the United States, 5-12% of adults have at least one symptom of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, including TMJ osteoarthritis (TMJ-OA). However, there is no chondroprotective agent that is approved for clinical application. We showed that LOXL2 is elevated in the regenerative response during fracture healing in mice and has a critical role in chondrogenic differentiation. Indeed, LOXL2 is an anabolic effector that attenuates pro-inflammatory signaling in OA cartilage of the TMJ and knee joint, induces chondroprotective and regenerative responses, and attenuates NF-kB signaling. The specific goal of the study was to evaluate if adenoviral delivery of LOXL2 is anabolic to human and mouse TMJ condylar cartilage in vivo and evaluate the protective and anabolic effect on cartilage-specific factors. We employed two different models to assess TMJ-OA. In one model, clinical TMJ-OA cartilage from 5 different samples in TMJ-OA cartilage plugs were implanted subcutaneously in nude mice. Adenovirus LOXL2 -treated implants showed higher mRNA levels of LOXL2, ACAN, and other anabolic genes compared to the adenovirus-Empty-treated implants. Further characterization by RNA-seq analysis showed LOXL2 promotes proteoglycan networks and extracellular matrix in human TMJ-OA cartilage implants in vivo. In order to evaluate if LOXL2-induced functional and sex-linked differences, both male and female four-month-old chondrodysplasia (Cho/+) mice, which develop progressive TMJ-OA due to a point mutation in the Col11a1 gene, were subjected to intraperitoneal injection with Adv-RFP-LOXL2 every 2 weeks for 12 weeks. The data showed that adenovirus delivery of LOXL2 upregulated LOXL2 and aggrecan (Acan), whereas MMP13 expression was slightly downregulated. The fold change expression of Acan and Runx2 induced by Adv-RFP-LOXL2 was higher in females compared to males. Interestingly, Adv-RFP-LOXL2 injection significantly increased Rankl expression in male but there was no change in females, whereas VegfB gene expression was increased in females, but not in males, as compared to those injected with Adv-RFP-Empty in respective groups. Our findings indicate that LOXL2 can induce specifically the expression of Acan and other anabolic genes in two preclinical models in vivo. Further, LOXL2 has beneficial functions in human TMJ-OA cartilage implants and promotes gender-specific anabolic responses in Cho/+ mice with progressive TMJ-OA, suggesting its merit for further study as an anabolic therapy for TMJ-OA.

In the present study black tea extract (BTE) solution which is familiar for drinking was used to prepare cerium metal-complexes (Ce(III)-complex). The prepared Ce(III)-complex was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The results indicate that BTE solution is a novel green coordination chemistry approach for the synthesis of metal complexes. The outcomes signify that coordination occurs between cerium cations and polyphenols. The synthesis of metal-complexes with superior absorption performance in the visible region is a challenge for optoelectronic device applications. The suspended Ce(III)-complex in distilled water was mixed with poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) polymer to fabricate PVA/ Ce(III)-complex composites with controlled optical properties. The PVA/Ce(III)-complexes composite films were characterized by FTIR, XRD, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The XRD findings confirms the amorphous structure for the synthesized Ce(III)-complexes. The addition of Ce(III)-complex into the PVA host polymer led to the growth of polymer composites with controllable small optical band gaps. It is shown by the FTIR spectra of the composite films that the functional groups of the host PVA have a vigorous interaction with the Ce(III)-complex. The XRD deconvolution on PVA composites reveals the amorphous phase enlargement with increasing Ce(III)-complex concentration. It is indicated in the atomic force microscopy (AFM) that the surface roughness in the doped PVA films increases with the increase of the Ce(III)-complex. There is a decrease in absorption edge from 5.7 to 1.7 eV. It becomes possible to recognize the type of electron transition by studying both the Tauc's model and optical dielectric loss (ɛ i ) parameter.

The free convective unsteady fluctuating, MHD flow of electrically conducting viscoelastic dusty fluid in a channel-driven with the impact of oscillating pressure gradient and the motion of the upper plate has been studied in this article. The noteworthy heat generation/absorption has also taken into account, the heat generation established the mechanism of heat transfer by both the momentum of fluid and the motion of dust particle and absorption of heat by the dust particle is because of conduction. The coupled governing partial differential equations are reduced to the ordinary differential equation through the assumed periodic solutions. Analytical solutions for the velocity of the fluid as well as the velocity of dust particles and for energy equation of the fluid and for dust particles are obtained by using Poincare-Light Hill Perturbation Technique. The influence of various parameters of interest is discussed on the velocity and temperature profiles of the fluid and particles. The evolution of fluid-phase and dusty-phase with dual behavior of the magnetic parameter for both boundary layer and free stream velocities has been discussed. The boundary layer velocity decreased with an increase in magnetic parameter, while at the free stream flow, the result is quite opposite. The above result of magnetic field is worthwhile and can be used to control the boundary layer thickness. The current work also concludes that by increasing the Peclet number and concentration of the dust particles retards the boundary layer velocity. Furthermore, various physical parameters like coefficient of heat absorption, concentration of the dust particles, peclet number, magnetic parameter, and temperature relaxation time parameter retard the motion of dusty-phase, while Grashof number enhances the flow of dusty-phase. Other properties of fluid, which have great importance for engineers are, the rate of heat transfer and skin friction. It is shown in Table 1 that by increasing the value of Peclet number from 1 to 2 it increases the rate of heat transfer from 1.3263 to 1.3387. Furthermore, Table 2 shows that by increasing the concentration parameter from 2 to 4 the skin friction increases from 2.3872 to 4.7799.

This paper portrays the dynamics of pine wilt disease. The specific formula for reproduction number is accomplished. Global behavior is completely demonstrated on the basis of the basic reproduction number [Formula: see text]. The disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable for [Formula: see text] and in such a case, the endemic equilibrium does not exist. If [Formula: see text] exceeds one, the disease persists and the unique endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. Global stability of disease-free equilibrium is proved using a Lyapunov function. A graph-theoretic approach is applied to show the global stability of the unique endemic equilibrium. Sensitivity analysis has been established and control strategies have been designed on the basis of sensitivity analysis.

The aim of this article is to study the combined effects of heat generation and chemical reaction on magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) natural convection flow over a moving plate embedded in a porous medium. Natural convection is caused due to buoyancy forced which has been induced because of temperature and concentration gradients. The general condition of velocity has been considered on the plate surface with Newtonian heating and constant wall concentration. The effect of thermal radiation is also considered in the energy equation. The main objective here is to study the relative behavior of the magnetic field. That is the magnetic field shows two types of relative behavior. More exactly, when the magnetic field is fixed relative to the fluid (MFFRF) and the magnetic field is fixed relative to the plate (MFFRP). The general exact solution of the problem is determined by the Laplace transform method. Particular solutions for two special cases namely the plate with variable vibration and the plate with sine and cosine oscillations are also determined. Moreover, the solutions when ζ → ∞ for both cases i.e. MFFRF and MFFRP are also obtained as special cases. The velocity profile is presented in the form of mechanical, thermal and concentration components. Velocity obtained for oscillating plate condition is written in terms of steady-state and transient parts. Exact solutions obtained in this paper are interpreted graphically using computational software Mathcad-15 to examine the effects of various pertinent parameters such as Casson fluid parameter, the permeability of porous medium, chemical reaction parameter, heat generation parameter, buoyancy force parameter, magnetic parameter, and radiation parameter. Results for Sherwood number, skin-friction, and Nusselt number are numerically computed and discussed.

In the modern era, diathermic oils have been gotten the great attention from researchers due to its notable and momentous applications in engineering, mechanics and in the industrial field. The aim of this paper is to model the problem to augment the heat transfer rate of diathermic oils, specifically, Engine-oil (EO) and Kerosene-oil (KO) are taken. The present work is dedicated to examine the shape impacts of molybdenum-disulfide (MoS 2 ) nanoparticles in the free convection magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of Brinkman-type nanofluid in a rotating frame. The problem is modeled in terms of partial differential equations with oscillatory boundary conditions. The integer-order model is transformed to fractional-order model in time (Caputo-Fabrizio). The exact solutions are obtained using the Laplace transform technique. Figures are drawn to compare the different non-spherically shaped molybdenum-disulfide nanoparticles on secondary and primary velocities. The Nusselt number is computed in the tabular form and discussed in detail. It is worth noting that platelet and blade shape of MoS 2 nanoparticle has more tendency to improve the heat transfer rate of both fluids as compared to nanoparticles with brick and cylinder shapes. It is also shown that the rate of heat transfer enhances 13.51% by adding MoS 2 in engine oil which improved its lubrication properties.

Casson nanofluid, unsteady flow over an isothermal vertical plate with Newtonian heating (NH) is investigated. Sodium alginate (base fluid)is taken as counter example of Casson fluid. MHD and porosity effects are considered. Effects of thermal radiation along with heat generation are examined. Sodium alginate with Silver, Titanium oxide, Copper and Aluminum oxide are added as nano particles. Initial value problem with physical boundary condition is solved by using Laplace transform method. Exact results are obtained for temperature and velocity fields. Skin-friction and Nusselt number are calculated. The obtained results are analyzed graphically for emerging flow parameters and discussed. It is bring into being that temperature and velocity profile are decreasing with increasing nano particles volume fraction.

Different chitosan-titanium oxide (CS-TiO 2 -x, with x = TiO 2 loadings of 1, 5, 10,15 and 20 wt%) nanocomposite fibers were prepared and kept separately in each salt solution of CuSO 4 , CoNO 3 , AgNO 3 and NiSO 4 to adsorb Cu 2+ , Co 2+ , Ag + , and Ni + ions, respectively. The metal ions loaded onto CS-TiO 2 fibers were reduced to their respective zero-valent metal nanoparticles (ZV-MNPs) like Cu 0 , Co 0 , Ag 0 and Ni 0 by treating with NaBH 4 . The CS-TiO 2 fibers templated with various ZV-MNPs were characterized and investigated for their catalytic efficiency. Among all prepared ZV-MNPs, Cu 0 nanoparticles templated on CS-TiO 2 -15 fibers exhibited high catalytic efficiency for the reduction of dyes (methyl orange (MO), congo red (CR), methylene blue (MB) and acridine orange (AO)) and nitrophenols (4-nitrohphenol (4-NP), 2-nitrophenol (2-NP), 3-nitrophenol (3-NP) and 2,6-dinitrophenol (2,6-DNP)). Besides the good catalytic activities of Cu/CS-TiO 2 -15 fibers, it could be easily recovered by simply pulling the fiber from the reaction medium.

A simple, economically viable and fast method has been utilized for the preparation of highly active metal nanoparticles (MNPs) in coating layer of chitosan (CH) over cellulose microfibers of cotton cloth (CC). 2 wt% of CH solution was used for the coating of CC strips (CC-CH), and were kept in aqueous solutions of metal salts to adsorb metal ions. The CC-CH templated with metal ions were then treated with aqueous solution of NaBH 4 to reduce the metal ions into zero-valent metal nanoparticles (M 0 ). The CC-CH strips loaded with M 0 were characterized by XRD, XPS, ATR-FTIR, FE-SEM and TGA, which indicates the successful synthesis of MNPs by this method. The M 0 /CC-CH strips were used as an efficient catalyst for the model reduction reaction of nitrophenol and toxic organic dyes. Among all the prepaped samples, Fe/CC-CH showed good catalytic activity for 4-NP and Rh-B dye reduction in the presence of NaBH 4 with rate constants of 0.2937 min -1 and 0.3804 min -1 , respectively. Moreover Fe/CC-CH has good catalytic reduction ability for MO and MB having rate constants equal to 0.1698 and 0.2802 min -1 , respectively. Beside the good catalytic ability, it could be easily recoverable as compared to other available techniques. The recovery was completed by simply pulling the strip from the reaction matrix after completion of the reaction and can be used several times.

Adaptation to environmental changes is an important fitness trait for crop development. Photoperiod is an essential factor in seasonal control of flowering time. Sensing of day-length requires an interaction between the Photoperiod and the endogenous rhythms that is controlled by plant circadian clock. Thus, circadian clock is a critical regulator and internal molecular time-keeping mechanism, controlling key agricultural traits in crop plants such as the ability to adjust their growth and physiology to anticipate diurnal environmental changes. Here, we describe the gene Tomato Dof Daily Fluctuations 1 (TDDF1), which is involved in circadian regulation and stress resistance. Large daily oscillations in TDDF1 expression were retained after transferring to continuous dark (DD) or light (LL) conditions. Interestingly, overexpressing TDDF1 induce early flowering in tomato through up-regulation of the flowering-time control genes, moreover, by protein-protein interaction with the floral inducer SFT gene. Notably, overexpressing TDDF1 in tomato was associated with chlorophyll overaccumulation by up-regulating the related biosynthetic genes. TDDF1 expression results in improved drought, salt, various hormones stress tolerance alongwith resistance to late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans. This study can be a distinctive strategy to improve other economically important crops.

Glioma is a rare, but highly fatal, cancer that accounts for the majority of malignant primary brain tumors. Inherited predisposition to glioma has been consistently observed within non-syndromic families. Our previous studies, which involved non-parametric and parametric linkage analyses, both yielded significant linkage peaks on chromosome 17q. Here, we use data from next generation and Sanger sequencing to identify familial glioma candidate genes and variants on chromosome 17q for further investigation. We applied a filtering schema to narrow the original list of 4830 annotated variants down to 21 very rare (<0.1% frequency), non-synonymous variants. Our findings implicate the MYO19 and KIF18B genes and rare variants in SPAG9 and RUNDC1 as candidates worthy of further investigation. Burden testing and functional studies are planned.
