Crystalline polymers have attracted significant interest in recent years due to their enhanced mechanical and thermal properties. As one type of organic-inorganic hybrid polymer crystals, polysilsesquioxane can be synthesized by large-scale and inexpensive so-gel processes with two precursors. In this paper, both octylene-bridged and hexylene-bridged PSQ crystals are characterized with infrared spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography to reveal their super high crystallinity. To study the thermal transport in these unique polymer crystals, we use a suspended micro thermal device to examine their thermal properties from 20 K to 320 K, and demonstrate their tunable thermal conductivity by varying the length of alkyl chains. We also conduct non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations to study the phonon behaviors across the hydrogen bond interface. The simulation results demonstrate good agreement with the experimental results regarding both the value and trend of the PSQ thermal conductivity. Furthermore, from the simulation, we find that the anharmonic phonon scattering and interfacial anharmnic coupling effects across the hydrogen bond interface may explain the experimentally observed thermal properties.

Based on the dual response of RhB@UiO-67 (1:6) to Cu2+ and Fe3+, a proportional fluorescent probe with (I392/I581) as the output signal was developed to recognize Cu2+ and Fe3+. Developing highly sensitive and selective trace metal ions probes is crucial to human health and ecological sustainability. In this work, a series of ratio fluorescent probes (RhB@UiO-67) were successfully synthesized using a one-pot method to enable fluorescence sensing of Cu2+ and Fe3+ at low concentrations. The proportional fluorescent probe RhB@UiO-67 (1:6) exhibited simultaneous quenching of Cu2+ and Fe3+, which was found to be of interest. Furthermore, the limits of detection (LODs) for Cu2+ and Fe3+ were determined to be 2.76 μM and 0.76 μM, respectively, for RhB@UiO-67 (1:6). These values were significantly superior to those reported for previous sensors, indicating the probe's effectiveness in detecting Cu2+ and Fe3+ in an ethanol medium. Additionally, RhB@UiO-67 (1:6) demonstrated exceptional immunity and reproducibility towards Cu2+ and Fe3+. The observed fluorescence quenching of Cu2+ and Fe3+ was primarily attributed to the mechanisms of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET), photoinduced electron transfer (PET), and competitive absorption (CA). To investigate whether the combination scheme of deep learning score (DL-score) and radiomics can improve preoperative diagnosis in the presence of micropapillary/solid (MPP/SOL) patterns in lung adenocarcinoma (ADC). A retrospective cohort of 514 confirmed pathologically lung ADC in 512 patients after surgery was enrolled. The clinicoradiographic model (model 1) and radiomics model (model 2) were developed with logistic regression. The deep learning model (model 3) was constructed based on the deep learning score (DL-score). The combine model (model 4) was based on DL-score and R-score and clinicoradiographic variables. The performance of these models was evaluated with area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and compared using DeLong's test internally and externally. The prediction nomogram was plotted, and clinical utility depicted with decision curve. The performance of model 1, model 2, model 3 and model 4 was supported by AUCs of 0.848, 0.896, 0.906, 0.921 in the Internal validation set, that of 0.700, 0.801, 0.730, 0.827 in external validation set, respectively. These models existed statistical significance in internal validation (model 4 vs model 3, P = 0.016; model 4 vs model 1, P = 0.009, respectively) and external validation (model 4 vs model 2, P = 0.036; model 4 vs model 3, P = 0.047; model 4 vs model 1, P = 0.016, respectively). The decision curve analysis (DCA) demonstrated that model 4 predicting the lung ADC with MPP/SOL structure would be more beneficial than the model 1and model 3 but comparable with the model 2. The combined model can improve preoperative diagnosis in the presence of MPP/SOL pattern in lung ADC in clinical practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Nb 2 O 5 is added to a borosilicate sealing system to improve the thermo-mechanical stability of the sealing interface between the glass and Fe-Cr metallic interconnect (Crofer 22APU) in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). The thermo-mechanical stability of the glass/metal interface is evaluated experimentally as well as by using a finite element analysis (FEA) method. The sealing glass doped with 4 mol.% Nb 2 O 5 shows the best thermo-mechanical stability, and the sealing couple of Crofer 22APU/glass/GDC (Gd 0.2 Ce 0.8 O 1.9 ) remains intact after 50 thermal cycles. In addition, all sealing couples show good joining after being held at 750 °C for 1000 h. Moreover, the possible mechanism on the thermo-mechanical stability of sealing interface is investigated in terms of stress-based and energy-based perspectives.

In this study, the effects of apple pomace (AP) addition (0%, 5%, 10%, and 20% on a dry weight basis, named as control, AP1, AP2, and AP3) and citric acid (CA) addition on nitrogen conservation were investigated during aerobic composting of pig manure. Gaseous emissions of NH 3 and N 2 O were inhibited by AP and CA addition, with AP's effect greater. The inhibition improved with increasing AP addition. The AP3 treatment was the most effective on NH 3 adsorption and transformation to [Formula: see text]-N, improved with subsequent transformation to [Formula: see text]-N, and inhibition of N 2 O and [Formula: see text] production. Compared with control, AP3 showed the highest inhibition of accumulated NH 3 and N 2 O emission, by 57% and 24%, respectively, and with a 19% increase of total Kjeldahl nitrogen in the compost. The further pot experiment proved the application of the AP amendment compost could improve the yield and trace element nutrient accumulation in Chinese cabbage when planted in a typical Zn-deficient soil. This study illustrates that AP application benefits both compost nitrogen conservation and fertilizer quality.
