Nitrogen and phosphorus resorption (NRE and PRE) is a critical nutrient conservation mechanism maintaining plant growth in already disturbed barren ecosystems. The complexity of plant nutrient resorption variations in long-term grazing regions is regulated by plant traits, nutritional utilization strategies, and soil conditions following changes in grazing patterns. Therefore, a detailed investigation into their underlying mechanism is still required. Here we investigated leaf nutrient concentration and resorption in dominant species Cleistogenes songorica (C. squarrosa) and Stipa breviflora (S. breviflora) response to 15-years continuous grazing (moderate and heavy grazing) in desert steppe. Moderate grazing enhanced green leaf N and P content in C. songorica and partially increased N content in S. breviflora. Heavy grazing consistently increased N content in C. songorica, but its P content as well as N and P content in S. breviflora were largely stable. Moderate grazing enhanced NRE but unaffected PRE in both S. breviflora and C. songorica. Heavy grazing reduced NRE and PRE in C. songorica. Although soil variables (nutrients and moisture) did not affect foliar nutrients, it’s a key driver of nutrient resorption efficiency. Of all measured influence factors, soil moisture is the one most important and negatively correlated with NRE and PRE in S. breviflora. While it was not observed in C. songorica. In S. breviflora, its NRE was adversely linked with soil N, in addition, both NRE and PRE were positively associated with green leaf nutrients. Senesced leaf nutrients are the predominant factor influencing nutrient resorption efficiency in C. songorica, which were adversely associated. Overall, our results indicate significant variations in nutrient resorption efficiency patterns between the two dominant species due to divergent plant adaptation strategies to grazing and the local environment. To compare the therapeutic effect of less invasive surfactant administration (LISA) followed by synchronized nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation (SNIPPV) and traditional intubate-Surfactant-Extubate (InSurE) strategy for the treatment of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS). A single-center, non-randomized and single- blinded study Tertiary neonatal intensive care unit 89 infants enrolled were preterm with gestational age < 366/7 weeks and clinically diagnosed with neonatal RDS (NRDS) Interventions: 32 infants were assigned to the LISA + SNIPPV group and 57 infants to the InSurE + nCPAP group. No statistically significant differences were noted in the baseline characteristics of the enrolled infants. A lower proportion of infants developed BPD in the LISA + SNIPPV group compared to the InSurE + CPAP group [10 (31.25%) vs. 21 (36.84%), P > 0.05]; however, there was no statistically significant difference. The number needed to treat (NNT) with LISA + SNIPPV to prevent BPD development is 18. The mortality rate was not significant between our study arms [1 (3.13%) vs 2 (3.51%), P > 0.05]. There were no statistically significant differences in the durations (days) of MV [(12.18 ± 13.89) vs. (11.35 ± 11.61), P > 0.05], oxygen therapy [(35.03 ± 19.13) vs. (39.75 ± 17.91), P > 0.05] and re-intubation rates [(0.19 ± 0.40) vs. (0.21 ± 0.45), P > 0.05] between the two study groups. In terms of complications, the incidence of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) [24 (75.00%) vs. 27 (47.37%), P < 0.05] was higher and a lower rate of disturbed liver function [1 (3.23%) vs. 19 (33.33%), P < 0.05] were observed in the LISA + SNIPPV group. Acid–base imbalances were reportedly significantly higher in the InSurE group (P < 0.05). No significant differences in other complications were noted. In the interventional group, FiO2 requirements were significantly lower up until the 3rd week of treatment [FiO2 at day 0, (30.75 ± 4.78) vs. (34.66 ± 9.83), P < 0.05; FiO2 at day 21, (25.32 ± 3.74) vs. (29.11 ± 8.17), P < 0.05], as was RSS on days 2 [(0.77 ± 0.38) vs. (1.94 ± 0.75), P < 0.05] and 3 [(0.66 ± 0.33) vs. (1.89 ± 0.82), P < 0.05] after treatment. Additionally, infants in the standard group had a significantly prolonged hospital stay (days) [(45.97 ± 16.93) vs. (54.40 ± 16.26), P < 0.05]. The purpose is to solve the safety production and management problems of the gold Industrial Chain and give early warning of the safety situation of the gold Industrial Chain. According to the theory of industrial chain security governance and the basic situation of the gold Industrial Chain, this work establishes a gold Industrial Chain model based on smart blockchain and system dynamics (SD), and discusses the application of the gold Industrial Chain in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment. The overall goal of the application of IoT technology to the safety management of intelligent gold mines is to take the gold mine production demand as the driving force. The digitalization of production, electromechanical, safety, dispatching, and other information realizes intelligent digital perception, assists decision-making, guides the safety management of gold mining operations, continuously improves the operation efficiency of the gold mining industry, and drives the development of the industry. Finally, it takes the resource reserve of China's gold industry from 2011 to 2021 as the research data introduces the weighting method to assess the security situation of China's gold Industrial Chain from 2011 to 2021. The safety performance of China's environmental industry chain is evaluated through the detailed introduction of the basic information of the gold Industrial Chain. The result shows that the security situation of China's gold Industrial Chain from 2011 to 2021 shows an overall growth trend, 88.42% higher than in 2014. The security situation of China's gold Industrial Chain from 2011 to 2021 positively impacted the opening of the domestic gold market and entering the international gold market, improving the security level of China's gold Industrial Chain. In this work, a gold Industrial Chain security model based on smart blockchain and SD is established to solve the safety problem of the gold Industrial Chain, which can improve the safety level of the gold industry and promote its sustainable development. The carbon emissions trading system (CETS) is a helpful policy instrument for separating carbon emissions from economic expansion, and it significantly impacts energy efficiency (EE). This study uses 30 Chinese provinces from 2007 to 2020 as its research samples, and classifies energy efficiency into single-factor energy efficiency (SFE) and total-factor energy efficiency (TFE), using the difference-in-differences model to examine the effect and mechanism of the CETS on EE. As an additional tool to assess the efficacy of the CETS, the corresponding evolution of the rebound effect of energy-related carbon emissions (RECE) is also calculated. This study shows that the CETS can significantly improve EE in China's pilot provinces. The influence mechanism indicates that the effect of the CETS on EE is influenced by the level of government governance, green innovation, and industrial structure optimization. Further study finds that after the CETS was carried out, the RECE in pilot provinces was higher than that in non-pilot provinces, and 31.4% of carbon emissions reduced by EE improvement rebounded. Therefore, the CETS has yet to realize its full carbon reduction potential. The study offers specific policy proposals for the enhancement of China's CETS in light of the aforementioned findings. Diagnosis of pediatric paragonimiasis is difficult because of its non-specific clinical manifestations. We retrospectively reviewed the records of pediatric paragonimiasis in Children's Hospital of Fudan University from January 2011 to May 2019. The confirmed diagnosis of paragonimiasis was based on positive anti-parasite serological tests from the local Center for Disease Control (CDC). A total of 11 patients (mean age: 7.7 ± 3.1, male–female ratio: 7:4) diagnosed as paragonimiasis were included. 81.8% were from endemic areas such as Sichuan and Yunnan, and 36% had a clear history of raw crab or crayfish consumption. The characteristic clinical features of pediatric paragonimiasis were eosinophilia (100%), pleural effusion (81.8%), hepatomegaly (54.5%), ascites (54.5%), and subcutaneous nodules (45.5%). Misdiagnosed with other diseases including tuberculosis (18.2%), pneumonia (9.1%), intracranial space-occupying lesions (9.1%) and brain abcess (9.1%) led to rehospitalization and prolonged hospitalization. For treatment, a 3-day course of 150 mg/kg praziquantel (PZQ) didn't show ideal treatment effectivity and 63.6% needed more than one course of PZQ, while triclabendazole in a total dose of 10 mg/kg had a better efficacy to stubborn manifestations. This study indicated that pediatric paragonimiasis was often misdiagnosed, and the treatment with a 3-day course of 150 mg/kg PZQ had a high rate of failure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Magnetic anchor device based on the principle of magnet heteropolar attraction can assist laparoscopic surgery and reduce abdominal wall trauma. This study explored the feasibility of use of our self-designed magnetic anchor device for reduced-port laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) through animal experiments. Twelve experimental pigs (15–20 kg) were randomly divided into study group (magnetic anchor technique assisted 2-port LC, n = 6) and control group (conventional 3-port LC, n = 6). Operative time, intraoperative blood loss, and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. LC was successfully performed in all 12 pigs. There was no significant between-group difference with respect to operative time (study group: 35.83 ± 5.12 min; control group: 34.50 ± 5.13 min, P = 0.662) or intraoperative blood loss (< 50 mL per animal in both groups). In the experimental group, there was no malfunction of the magnetic anchoring device, the use process was smooth, and the tissue traction and surgical field exposure were satisfactory. There were no perioperative complications such as bile duct injury, bile leakage, or bleeding in both groups. We demonstrated the feasibility of use of the self-designed magnetic anchor device in reduced-port LC. The device has important clinical application value. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
