Radio stations in the Saint Louis, Missouri market are either owned or heavily influenced by a religious organization. The three types of religious affiliations among the stations are: religious stations owned by non-religious organizations; religious stations owned by churches; and commercial stations owned by religious organizations. Most local religious radio stations do not have newscasts and analysis. Many stations air mild formats focusing on Bible stories and scripture reading. Stations that offer news and news analysis seem politically inflammatory especially when it comes to a woman's right to a safe and legal abortion.
