The article is an analysis of the complex position of the Catholic Church on the problem of environmental protection. The author follows the evolution of views, initially of contributory significance, as a result of the vision of man as God’s creation functioning in the world also created by God. A large part of the article addresses the doctrinal revolution of Pope Francis contained in the encyclical Laudato si’ and an attempt to answer the question: How did this happen?

The subject of the considerations presented in the article is the shape of modern regulations on the protection of agricultural land. The analysis is conducted primarily in the field of protective provisions regarding the so-called quantitative and qualitative protection of agricultural land, as well as economic instruments correlated with these provisions for the protection of agricultural land. Other regulatory areas, including predominantly the existing and discussed solutions of European Union law regarding closer linking of agricultural producer support instruments with requirements in the field of environmental protection, within the scope of the so-called conditionality and greening. The subject of the study is not only the analysis of traditional directions of agricultural land protection as a means of production in agriculture, but also an attempt to determine the areas and directions for further development of this regulation.

In view of growing threats in this respect, the protection of natural resources is undoubtedly becoming a serious challenge, both for the state and for each citizen. Therefore, this article is supposed to draw attention to the problem of searching for optimal instruments for the protection of these resources. This is about creating and developing appropriate standards in legal regulations regarding environmental protection, protection of nature, water, air, national and landscape parks, nature monuments, etc. as well as protection of natural resources in cities and human settlements. Undoubtedly, spatial planning is of paramount significance in this matter, in particular local spatial development plans and the appropriate instruments of action resulting from them. Their significance should be considered particularly important because they are generally applicable law as acts of local law.

The game shooting district lease contract is one of the instruments for environmental protection. As part of leased hunting districts, hunting clubs are obliged to conduct hunting economy. The structure of the provisions regulating the institution of the lease of hunting districts causes that doctrine and jurisprudence still have not developed a uniform concept regarding its legal nature.

Everyone has the right to health protection. If the activity conducted by an entity or a natural person exploiting the environment which poses a threat to the health and life of other persons, the Voivodeship Inspectorate of Environmental Protection shall decide to cease activity to the extent that is necessary to prevent the deterioration of the environment. Preventing exploitation of the environment by the subject, whose activities pose the threat to the health of other persons, is required to provide health security.

Everyone is guaranteed the right to health and mental health protection. With reference to the above, the activity carried out by the entity using the environment (or a natural person) that threatens life or health of people, should be withheld by an authority competent in the area of environmental protection, by an administrative decision, which refers to any negative activity causing such a threat.
