Since plant diseases occurring during the growth process are a significant factor leading to the decline in both yield and quality, the classification and detection of plant leaf diseases, followed by timely prevention and control measures, are crucial for safeguarding plant productivity and quality. As the traditional convolutional neural network structure cannot effectively recognize similar plant leaf diseases, in order to more accurately identify the diseases on plant leaves, this paper proposes an effective plant disease image recognition method aECA-ResNet34. This method is based on ResNet34, and in the first and the last layers of this network, respectively, we add this paper's improved aECAnet with the symmetric structure. aECA-ResNet34 is compared with different plant disease classification models on the peanut dataset constructed in this paper and the open-source PlantVillage dataset. The experimental results show that the aECA-ResNet34 model proposed in this paper has higher accuracy, better performance, and better robustness. This paper describes a solution for the image density classification problem (DCP) using an entirely distributed system with only local processing of information named cellular automata (CA). The proposed solution uses two cellular automata's features, density conserving and translation of the information stored in the cellular automata's cells through the lattice, in order to obtain the solution for the density classification problem. The motivation for choosing a bio-inspired technique based on CA for solving the DCP is to investigate the principles of self-organizing decentralized computation and to assess the capabilities of CA to achieve such computation, which is applicable to many real-world decentralized problems that require a decision to be taken by majority voting, such as multi-agent holonic systems, collaborative robots, drones' fleet, image analysis, traffic optimization, forming and then separating clusters with different values. The entire application is coded using the C# programming language, and the obtained results and comparisons between different cellular automata configurations are also discussed in this research. Ground-glass nodules (GGN) are the main manifestation of early lung cancer, and accurate and efficient identification of ground-glass pulmonary nodules is of great significance for the treatment of lung diseases. In response to the problem of traditional machine learning requiring manual feature extraction, and most deep learning models applied to 2D image classification, this paper proposes a Transformer-based recognition model for ground-glass nodules from the view of global 3D asymmetry feature representation. Firstly, a 3D convolutional neural network is used as the backbone to extract the features of the three-dimensional CT-image block of pulmonary nodules automatically; secondly, positional encoding information is added to the extracted feature map and input into the Transformer encoder layer for further extraction of global 3D asymmetry features, which can preserve more spatial information and obtain higher-order asymmetry feature representation; finally, the extracted asymmetry features are entered into a support vector machine or ELM-KNN model to further improve the recognition ability of the model. The experimental results show that the recognition accuracy of the proposed method reaches 95.89%, which is 4.79, 2.05, 4.11, and 2.74 percentage points higher than the common deep learning models of AlexNet, DenseNet121, GoogLeNet, and VGG19, respectively; compared with the latest models proposed in the field of pulmonary nodule classification, the accuracy has been improved by 2.05, 2.05, and 0.68 percentage points, respectively, which can effectively improve the recognition accuracy of ground-glass nodules. Methods such as transfer learning and attention mechanisms play an important role in small-sample image classification tasks. However, the conventional transfer method retains too much prior knowledge of the source domain and cannot learn the feature information of the target domain well. At the same time, it is difficult for the neural network model to find discriminative features and locate key feature regions, and it is easily interfered with by information such as complex backgrounds. Spiders usually appear symmetrical, but they are not perfectly symmetrical. How to accurately classify spider images depends on how to make the model focus on the key features for recognizing spiders in these symmetrical and asymmetrical regions. In view of the above problems, in this paper, we propose ECSM-ResNet-50, a model for small-sample spider image classification. The model fuses channel and spatial information and pays attention to the correlation between different locations in the input data. The Efficient Channel Attention (ECA) mechanism and the spatial attention mechanism were added to the model, and the self-attention mechanism was added to the end of the model. ECSM-ResNet-50 was constructed and trained on a small-sample spider data set (SPIDER9-IMAGE) using a layer-by-layer fine-tuning transfer learning strategy. Compared with ResNet-50, ECSM-ResNet-50 improved the average accuracy of nine species of spider recognition by 1.57% to 90.25%. This study contributes to the field of small-sample image recognition. Deep neural networks have achieved remarkable success in various fields of artificial intelligence. However, these models, which contain a large number of parameters, are widely distributed and disseminated by researchers, engineers, and even unauthorized users. Except for intelligent tasks, typically overparameterized deep neural networks have become new digital covers for data hiding, which may pose significant security challenges to AI systems. To address this issue, this paper proposes a symmetric steganalysis scheme specifically designed for neural networks trained for image classification tasks. The proposed method focuses on detecting the presence of additional data without access to the internal structure or parameters of the host network. It employs a well-designed method based on histogram distribution to find the optimal decision threshold, with a symmetric determining rule where the original networks and stego networks undergo two highly symmetrical flows to generate the classification labels; the method has been shown to be practical and effective. SVM and ensemble classifiers were chosen as the binary classifier for their applicability to feature vectors output from neural networks based on different datasets and network structures. This scheme is the first of its kind, focusing on steganalysis for neural networks based on the distribution of network output, compared to conventional digital media such as images, audio, and video. Hyperspectral image (HSI) analysis has become one of the most active topics in the field of remote sensing, which could provide powerful assistance for sensing a larger-scale environment. Nevertheless, a large number of high-correlation and redundancy bands in HSI data provide a massive challenge for image recognition and classification. Hybrid Rice Optimization (HRO) is a novel meta-heuristic, and its population is approximately divided into three groups with an equal number of individuals according to self-equilibrium and symmetry, which has been successfully applied in band selection. However, there are some limitations of primary HRO with respect to the local search for better solutions and this may result in overlooking a promising solution. Therefore, a modified HRO (MHRO) based on an opposition-based-learning (OBL) strategy and differential evolution (DE) operators is proposed for band selection in this paper. Firstly, OBL is adopted in the initialization phase of MHRO to increase the diversity of the population. Then, the exploitation ability is enhanced by embedding DE operators into the search process at each iteration. Experimental results verify that the proposed method shows superiority in both the classification accuracy and selected number of bands compared to other algorithms involved in the paper. Low-light images are obtained in dark environments or in environments where there is insufficient light. Because of this, low-light images have low intensity values and dimmed features, making it difficult to directly apply computer vision or image recognition software to them. Therefore, to use computer vision processing on low-light images, an image improvement procedure is needed. There have been many studies on how to enhance low-light images. However, some of the existing methods create artifact and distortion effects in the resulting images. To improve low-light images, their contrast should be stretched naturally according to their features. This paper proposes the use of a low-light image enhancement method utilizing an image-adaptive mask that is composed of an image-adaptive ellipse. As a result, the low-light regions of the image are stretched and the bright regions are enhanced in a way that appears natural by an image-adaptive mask. Moreover, images that have been enhanced using the proposed method are color balanced, as this method has a color compensation effect due to the use of an image-adaptive mask. As a result, the improved image can better reflect the image's subject, such as a sunset, and appears natural. However, when low-light images are stretched, the noise elements are also enhanced, causing part of the enhanced image to look dim and hazy. To tackle this issue, this paper proposes the use of guided image filtering based on using triple terms for the image-adaptive value. The critical component of HCI is face recognition technology. Emotional computing heavily relies on the identification of facial emotions. Applications for emotion-driven face animation and dynamic assessment are numerous (FER). Universities have started to support real-world face expression recognition research as a result. Short video clips are continually uploaded and shared online, building up a library of videos on various topics. The enormous amount of movie data appeals to system engineers and researchers of autonomous emotion mining and sentiment analysis. The main idea is that categorizing things may be done by looking at how individuals feel about specific issues. People might choose to have a basic or complex facial appearance. People worldwide continually express their feelings through their faces, whether they are happy, sad, or uncertain. An online user can visually express themselves through a video's editing, music, and subtitles. Additionally, before the video data can be used, noise in the data must frequently be eliminated. Automatically figuring out how someone feels in a video is a challenging task that will only get harder over time. Therefore, this paper aims to show how facial recognition video analysis can be used to show how sentiment analysis can help with business growth and essential decision-making. To determine how people are affected by reviewers' writing, we use a technique for deciding emotions in this analysis. The feelings in movies are assessed using machine learning algorithms to categorize them. A lightweight machine learning algorithm is proposed to help in Aspect-oriented emotion classification for movie reviews. Moreover, to analyze real and published datasets, experimental results are compared with different Machine Learning algorithms, i.e., Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, and CNN. The proposed approach obtained 84.72 accuracy and 79.24 sensitivity. Furthermore, the method has a specificity of 90.64 and a precision of 90.2. Thus, the proposed method significantly increases the accuracy and sensitivity of the emotion detection system from facial feature recognition. Our proposed algorithm has shown contribution to detect datasets of different emotions with symmetric characteristics and symmetrically-designed facial image recognition tasks. It is critical for intelligent vehicles to be capable of monitoring the health and well-being of the drivers they transport on a continuous basis. This is especially true in the case of autonomous vehicles. To address the issue, an automatic system is developed for driver's real emotion recognizer (DRER) using deep learning. The emotional values of drivers in indoor vehicles are symmetrically mapped to image design in order to investigate the characteristics of abstract expressions, expression design principles, and an experimental evaluation is conducted based on existing research on the design of driver facial expressions for intelligent products. By substituting a custom-created CNN features learning block with the base 11 layers CNN model in this paper for the development of an improved faster R-CNN face detector that detects the driver's face at a high frame per second (FPS). Transfer learning is performed in the NasNet large CNN model in order to recognize the driver's various emotions. Additionally, a custom driver emotion recognition image dataset is being developed as part of this research task. The proposed model, which is a combination of an improved faster R-CNN and transfer learning in NasNet-Large CNN architecture for DER based on facial images, enables greater accuracy than previously possible for DER based on facial images. The proposed model outperforms some recently updated state-of-the-art techniques in terms of accuracy. We have witnessed the impact of ML in disease diagnosis, image recognition and classification, and many more related fields. Healthcare is a sensitive field related to people's lives in which decisions need to be carefully taken based on solid evidence. However, most ML models are complex, i.e., black-box, meaning they do not provide insights into how the problems are solved or why such decisions are proposed. This lack of interpretability is the main reason why some ML models are not widely used yet in real environments such as healthcare. Therefore, it would be beneficial if ML models could provide explanations allowing physicians to make data-driven decisions that lead to higher quality service. Recently, several efforts have been made in proposing interpretable machine learning models to become more convenient and applicable in real environments. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive survey and symmetry phenomena of IML models and their applications in healthcare. The fundamental characteristics, theoretical underpinnings needed to develop IML, and taxonomy for IML are presented. Several examples of how they are applied in healthcare are investigated to encourage and facilitate the use of IML models in healthcare. Deep neural networks (DNNs) have become the de facto standard for image recognition tasks, and their applications with respect to plant diseases have also obtained remarkable results. However, the large number of parameters and high computational complexities of these network models make them difficult to deploy on farms in remote areas. In this paper, focusing on the problems of resource constraints and plant diseases, we propose a DNN-based compression method. In order to reduce computational burden, this method uses lightweight fully connected layers to accelerate reasoning, pruning to remove redundant parameters and reduce multiply–accumulate operations, knowledge distillation instead of retraining to restore the lost accuracy, and then quantization to compress the size of the model further. After compressing the mainstream VGGNet and AlexNet models, the compressed versions are applied to the Plant Village dataset of plant disease images, and a performance comparison of the models before and after compression is obtained to verify the proposed method. The results show that the model can be compressed to 0.04 Mb with an accuracy of 97.09%. This experiment also proves the effectiveness of knowledge distillation during the pruning process, and compressed models are more efficient than prevalent lightweight models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
