Only God is Holy (Ex 19, 5), but He made holiness a gift for His people. The Church assumed this gift and mission by motivating its members to seek the holiness inherent to their nature. It does so through the cult of saints, already present in the first centuries of the Church, as well as through the profession of faith in the Communio Sanctorum of the Apostolic Creed. The Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium of Vatican II develops the theme of the Communion of Saints, although it does not present it in these terms. With this he wishes to recall the unity of the Church – pilgrim, in need of purification and heavenly – and the universal vocation to holiness of every baptized person. By presenting the saints as brothers and benefactors, the Constitution invites the faithful to commune with the saints through prayer and intercession, as well as through the example of so many men and women who configured their lives to Christ. This research seeks to present elements for the evangelizing action of the Church in Ecclesial Missionary Communities in the light of Pope Francis' pneumatology, in order to contribute to confronting the generational rupture in the transmission of the faith. It is intended to reflect on the relevance of encouraging evangelizers who live holiness in the Spirit and incarnate, inspired by the reception of the Second Vatican Council, in the apostolic exhortations Evangelli Gaudium and Gaudete et Exsultate of Pope Francis and in the General Guidelines of the Evangelizing Action of the Church of Brazil proposals by the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil for 2019-2023, which are in force until 2025. A cultura digital representa nos tempos hodiernos um desafio para o ser e o agir da Igreja: para cumprir sua missão de anunciar a mensagem do Evangelho a toda criatura (Mc 16,15), ela precisa habitar a “infosfera” (uma evolução dos conceitos “continente digital” e “ciberespaço”) e realizar a infopastoral. As novas tecnologias geram uma mudança na forma como nos relacionamos em sociedade e criam padrões de comportamentos complexos que moldam o ser humano, inserido em uma dinâmica de vida “onlife”. A pandemia de COVID-19 explicitou essa realidade, trazendo-nos, de forma inesperada, o que se considerava “o futuro”. A necessidade do distanciamento social levou a Igreja a utilizar mais amplamente as tecnologias digitais para manter a unidade pastoral e possibilitar aos fiéis a continuidade da experiência da fé, agora em novo ambiente, não físico. A partir da pesquisa e análise bibliográficas, do magistério do Papa Francisco, de autores e pesquisadores da Teologia, da Comunicação, da Sociologia e da Tecnologia, este artigo pretende apresentar perspectivas para uma pastoral na sociedade da informação. A questão norteadora desta reflexão é a interlocução entre o Evangelho e a cultura digital. Concluímos que, para que essa interlocução aconteça, faz-se necessário iniciar um processo de conversão pastoral, com reconhecimento da cultura digital, aprendizado de sua linguagem e corresponsabilidade evangelizadora de todo o povo de Deus

The present research aims to analyze the ecclesial experience of Saint Teresa of Jesus, her painful experience and the ecclesial context marked by the Protestant Reformation. Then, her mystical itinerary is discussed, in which it is noticed that her ecclesial consciousness is expanding to the point of understanding herself as a daughter of the Church. The aim of this study is to analyze, above all, the eminently Christological character of Teresian ecclesiology. Theme developed in a lecture at the Seminar "Women in Christianity" that presents the intuition and charismatic realization of Blessed James Alberione, founder of the Pauline Sisters in the Church, at the beginning of the 20th century, with the mission of proclamation, communication of the Gospel through the means of social communication, equating oral preaching with written preaching. The ecclesial aggiornament intended by the Second Vatican Council deepens the church’s self-awareness in being a servant of humanity. This new posture allows the Church to approach and dialogue with contemporary society. The present research intends to approach, briefly, the conciliar and post-conciliar impulse in the relationship between the church magisterium and the natural sciences. For this, the pre-conciliar scenario is covered based on some official pronouncements of the ecclesial magisterium, which reflect a paradoxical posture of distrust and openness. Then, the focus is the Second Vatican Council, especially Gaudium et Spes, which recognizes the autonomy of earthly realities as a paradigm of the relationship between the church’s magisterium and the natural sciences. Este artigo analisa quatro princípios fundamentais encontrados em Atos dos Apóstolos 2,42. Observase que a prática destes princípios contribui para que a igreja cumpra com equilíbrio sua missão e propósito. Os princípios apresentados são: doutrina bíblica, comunhão, partir do pão e oração. Igrejas estagnadas ou em declínio geralmente deixaram de ter estes princípios como centrais em suas práticas. Este artigo demonstra que a prática destes princípios permeia toda historia bíblica e tem sido a marca das reuniões cristãs. Entretanto resgatar a prática destes princípios apenas por imitação tentando transpor para este momento da história seria um anacronismo estéril. Contudo estudá-los como meio de haurir conteúdo e métodos adaptados a este tempo constitui um facilitador para o crescimento da igreja local e para o avanço no trabalho missionário. E por fim é apresentada uma síntese bíblica da importância da prática desses princípios fundamentais para que uma igreja local seja saudável

Against the backdrop of the debates on the appropriate understanding of the Reformation in the context of the 500 year anniversary of the Reformation the attempt is made to elaborate the continuing promise of the Reformation with regard to the understanding of justice and freedom. The view of justice as a creative gift and the understanding of freedom as promise presuppose that the character of the Reformation can be understood as the reconfiguration of the traditional theological authorities. The understanding of reality as rooted in the creative justice of God who alone is free because God is his own future is applied in the Lutheran art of making distinctions which relate God's creative being and action to the created being and action of humans. The continuing promise of the Reformation is the discovery of this unconditional promise and of the way it is witnessed in the Church. The etymological analysis of the word "layman" opens several possibilities for the understanding of the Christian's role within the Church and the efforts made in the last decades for create a theology of the laity. The usage of word "layman" throughout history, inside and outside the Christian ambience, displays a rich ambiguity. O autor faz uma análise do documento O sensus fidei na vida da Igreja da Comissão Teológica Internacional do ponto de vista da Liturgia. Por isso, em primeiro lugar, analisa a relação entre ambos para, em seguida, mostrar como a liturgia pode ser fonte para o sensus fidei. Por fim, faz algumas considerações sobre alguns aspectos práticos da vida pastoral da Igreja

Este texto tem como objetivo oferecer um subsídio que reforce Champagnat e Vianney como educadores do povo, colegas e santos, além de aprofundar os estudos sobre a influência do contexto histórico-político-religioso-econômico e social nas iniciativas de ambos. Este artigo trata da identificação da abordagem do laicato feita pela Comissão Teológica Internacional em seu último documento intitulado “O senso da fé na vida da Igreja”. O documento, como tal, não é focado em debates históricos e teológicos em torno do laicato, que serão considerados no horizonte teológico do Concílio Vaticano II e, mais especificamente, no conjunto de reflexões sobre o sensus fidei. Essa definição, no entanto, não impede à Comissão Teológica Internacional de reafirmar a necessidade de novos modelos e metodologias nas relações entre leigos e hierarquia da Igreja em todo o posicionamento e maturidade eclesial na verdade da fé. E, nesse contexto, retomando os vários elementos e conteúdos que se referem à identidade e missão dos leigos na Igreja, particularmente em face dos desafios do anúncio do Evangelho hoje

The article collects and presents texts of the "Voice of the Pastor", by Dom Vicente Scherer, published in radio and newspapers of Porto Alegre, in order to make known the participation of the metropolitan archbishop of Porto Alegre in the Medellín Conference in 1968. In the various interventions, the future Cardinal leads to an interpretation focused on the most original aspects of Medellín, while emphasizing its novelty and taking care of the risks of inadequate interpretations of the documents. This leads the archbishop to discern, stimulate effective action, without radicalism of ideologies, especially in relation to the search for social changes with the use of violence. A anomalia das divisões entre os cristãos está no fato de que comunidades cristãs (Igrejas e comunidades eclesiais) separadas da Igreja Católica institucional ainda fazem parte da sacramentalidade da Igreja de Cristo. Como instituições religiosas diversas, tais igrejas e comunidades eclesiais estão fora da Igreja Católica, mas sua sacramentalidade salvífica permanece a mesma do sujeito singular no qual persiste a Igreja de Cristo desde o início. Onde quer que exista eclesialidade aí há mediação participada na subsistência da Igreja que ocorre somente na Igreja Católica. O Concílio Vaticano II afirma que a Igreja fundada por Cristo como instituição visível subsiste na Igreja Católica num modo que é próprio e único, que quer dizer plenamente, e que Igrejas separadas e comunidades participam nesta eclesialidade total. Por isso é importante a ideia da participação como é aplicada à Eclesiologia

O presente artigo intenta perquirir a eclesiologia patrística que brota da compreensão da Igreja como unitate Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti. Para tanto, percorrer-se-á alguns padres da Igreja, vislumbrando a teologia simbólica dos mesmos no que concerne à imagem de Igreja como comunhão. O objetivo deste estudo é identificar as principais características do ensinamento do Concílio Vaticano II sobre a fórmula extra Ecclesiam nulla salus. Após uma breve introdução, os números 14-16 da Lumen gentium são analisados, tentando entender o sentido em que os termos “ecclesia”, “salus” e “extra Ecclesiam” são utilizados. A conclusão salienta a importância hermenêutica do contexto em que a fórmula tem sido usada em diferentes períodos da história, e o valor forte concedido pelo Conselho para a dimensão cristológica da Igreja na História da Salvação

O tema central deste estudo é o da “comunhão de igrejas”. O conceito de “comunhão de igrejas” tem sido tratado, nas últimas duas décadas, no âmbito ecumênico, como instrumento para obter critérios novos para a unidade da Igreja. O artigo faz uma abordagem da eclesiologia ecumênica, surgida para refletir a dimensão ecumênica da eclesiologia. O artigo discute a validade exegética e hermenêutica da expressão “Igreja Samaritana”, usada no documento de Aparecida, e sua recepção. Inicia por lembrar o significado do gênero literário das parábolas nos evangelhos, para, depois, considerar o contexto e o texto da parábola do “bom” samaritano de Lc 10,29-37 e concluir que a aplicação à Igreja só pode acontecer como intenção de fazer o bem mediante projetos sociais e comunitários correspondentes

This article deals with the identification of approaches to the laity made by the International Theological Commission in its latest document entitled "Il sensus fidei nella vita della Chiesa". The document, as such, is not focused on historical and theological debates around the laity, which will be considered in the theological horizon of Vatican II and, more specifically, in the set of reflections on the sensus fidei. This definition, however, does not prevent the International Theological Commission to reaffirm the need for new models and methodologies in relations between laity and Church hierarchy throughout the positioning and ecclesial maturity at the truth of faith. And in this context, resuming the various elements and content referred to the identity and mission of the laity in the Church, particularly in the face of the challenges of proclaiming the Gospel today. The migration is as old as humanity. It can take several directions throughout history. However it will always be a stand out of the family relationships, of the birthplace, of the culture and language and even the way of living the faith. The transmission of the Christian message is expressed in a variety of expressions, in the liturgy, the spiritual traditions, theological statements and the legal order. East and West expressed the divine mysteries, through different methods and approaches. The II Vatican Council, through the Unitatis redintegratio decree, recognizes this as legitimate diversity. There is no opposition between faith and pluralism, when grounded in the mystery of Christ. The theological formulas have as na object the specific qualification of a particular theology, the certainty about the proposed truth. The criterion is the faith of the Church, because in it the divine revelation is guarded, transmitted and interpreted. Therefore, the theological issues are also ecclesiological. The unity and diversity of faith and formulas are related to the sacramental life and the sacramental right, questions about the woman, the sacred ministry and the diaconate were also considered, as a permanent ministry. The fecundity of the plurallity of doctrines, symbols, eituals, disciplines and institutions must be the expression of the unique apostolic Tradition, so that there are no critical injuries in the Church. The purpose of this study is to identify the main features of the teaching of Vatican Council II on the formula extra Ecclesiam nulla salus. After a brief introduction, numbers 14-16 of Lumen Gentium are analysed, trying to understand the sense in which the terms "ecclesia", "salus" and "extra Ecclesiam" are used. The conclusion stresses the hermeneutical importance of the context in which the formula has been used in different periods of history, and the strong value accorded by the Council to the christological dimension of the Church in the History of Salvation. This article purports to present some reflections on the thought of the Magisterium with respect to the consecrated religious life in the Church. A theme that may be very common to this magazine. For the Magisterium it is a subject of Paramount importance. Especially after the II Vatican Council, it was approached in a relevant way for the significant contribution of religious life devoted to the Church. The text, by the complexity of the subject cannot address in detail each of the documents. It only analyses what they all have in common, i.e., the consecrated religious life, by its nature, is inserted into the Church, helping with its presence and mission for the good of the people of God. The role of the Holy Spirit in the Church received a fundamental clarification during the II Vatican Council. In this study, the main renovated aspects are indicated, among which Paraclete's structuring role as a leader, together with Christ, in the sacramentum salutis. In this way, one can try to find a better solution to the question of the relationship between charisma and institution in the Church, which has frequently been the target of very different readings, which vevertheless are still capable of an enrichment. The presentation of the doctrine of Congar on the relationship between the Spirit and the Church, very different before and after the Council assembly, shows in an exemplary way the slowness of the reception and the ways found by a theologian who became interested in the subject "charisma-institution". The article presents an approach to ecumenical ecclesiology, which appeared to reflect the ecumenical dimension of Ecclesiology. The author approaches the subject in five steps: the need for an ecumenical ecclesiology, ecumenism as "formal principle" of ecclesiology and the sources and methods of ecumenical ecclesiology. He concludes with the study of "authority, God's gift to the Church", where the question of authority, the Episcopal ministry as service to the unit and the Petrine ministry as confirmation of the unit, are discussed. The author discusses the possibilities and limits of an ecumenical ecclesiology, considering it can only be possible if the starting point is the sacrament of Baptism and not a sacramental ecclesiology, based on the Bishop consecrated in the apostolic succession, as the Catholic and Orthodox Churches profess. He begins by exposing the relationship between understanding the Evangelical Church as a true church and its relation to ecumenism. Next, he shows that the Catholic Church, in adopting an inclusive attitude, overcame ecclesiological exclusiveness. He also recognizes in Baptism the basic bond of unity between the Churches. This article analyses the Church as granter of God's mercy in the world, especially by means of the reconciliation sacrament; her Christ gives the power to forgive the sins. This sacrament makes possible the sinner's reconciliation with God and with the Church whose member he is. In the sacrament of reconciliation the Christian wounded by the sin lives the hope of pardon which brings interior renovation in his relations and true peace.
