In this work, the $$\gamma p\rightarrow \phi (1680) p$$ γ p → ϕ ( 1680 ) p reaction is systematically studied based on the two gluon exchange model and the pomeron model. The calculation results show that the total cross section of $$\phi (1680)$$ ϕ ( 1680 ) photoproduction can reach more than 80 nb near the center-of-mass energy $$W=4$$ W = 4 GeV, so it is suggested that JLab and other experiments carry out relevant measurements. Moreover, under the framework of the vector meson dominance assumption, the scattering length of $$\phi (1680)$$ ϕ ( 1680 ) and proton interaction is estimated as $$0.07\pm 0.01$$ 0.07 ± 0.01 fm from the cross sections predicted by the theoretical models, which is on the same order of magnitude as the $$\phi (1020)$$ ϕ ( 1020 ) -p scattering length. In addition, the total cross section, number of events and rapidity distribution of $$\phi (1680)$$ ϕ ( 1680 ) production are predicted at Electron-Ion colliders (EICs) and ultra-peripheral collisions (UPCs) by using eSTARlight and STARlight code. The study of $$\phi (1680)$$ ϕ ( 1680 ) and relevant properties is of enlightening significance in better understanding the strangeonium family spectrum, and provides necessary data support for the future experiment of EICs and UPCs.

The exclusive $J/\Psi$ and $\Upsilon$ photoproduction in fixed - target collisions at the LHC and $ep(A)$ collisions at the Electron ion collider in China (EicC) is investigated considering different models for the treatment of the vector meson production at low energies, close to the threshold. Results for the total cross sections and associated distributions are presented. We predict a large number of $J/\Psi$ events at the LHC in the rapidity range covered by the LHCb detector. For the EicC, our predictions point out that a detailed analysis of the near threshold $J/\Psi$ and $\Upsilon$ photoproduction is feasible. Moreover, our results indicate that the modeling of the near threshold vector meson production can be constrained by future experimental analyzes at the LHC and EicC., Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures, 2 tables. The near-threshold photo-productions of heavy quarkonia are important ways to test the QCD-inspired models and to constrain the gluon distribution of nucleon in the large x region. Investigating the various models, we choose a photon–gluon fusion model and a pomeron exchange model for $$\hbox {J}/\varPsi $$J/Ψ photo-production near threshold, emphasising on the explanation of the recent experimental measurement by GlueX at JLab. We find that these two models are not only valid in a wide range of the center-of-mass energy of $$\gamma $$γ and proton, but also can be generalized to describe the $$\varUpsilon \hbox {(1S)}$$Υ(1S) photo-production. Using these two models, we predict the electro-production cross-sections of $$\varUpsilon \hbox {(1S)}$$Υ(1S) at EicC to be 48 fb to 85 fb at the center-of-mass energy of 16.75 GeV.

The coherent cross section of $J/\psi$, $\rho$, $\phi$ are computed in dipole model in the ultraperipheral PbPb collisions, the IP-Sat and IIM model are applied in the calculation of the differential cross section of the dipole scattering off the nucleon, three kinds of forward vector meson wave functions are used in the overlap. The prediction of $J/\psi$ and $\rho$ is compared with the experimental data of the ALICE Collaboration, and the prediction of $\phi$ is also given in this paper.
