A 17-year-old soldier's struggle to remember where he was on the afternoon a 14-year-old was murdered in Staffordshire, England, resulted in his being sentenced to life imprisonment for murder in 1972. Andrew Evans confessed after being injected with truth drugs but launched an appeal in Nov. 1997, having come to believe that the truth drugs helped convict an innocent teenager rather than revealed the truth. Evidence given while drugged has not been admissible in an English court of law since 1986. However truth drugs have led women to accuse their fathers of sexually abusing them.
