We designed a biocompatible carrier prepared by ultrasonication of vegetable oils in a protein aqueous solution for controlled dual release of hydrophobic drugs. Tetracycline as antibiotics was encapsulated into micro-organogels that were embedded into PAA matrix with flurbiprofen anti-inflammatory agents. Due to high affinity of PAA to water, flurbiprofen in PAA matrix could rapidly diffuse out from the film, while tetracycline was slowly released from the micro-organogels owing to thermo-responsive rigid core, providing selective staggered dual release of drugs.
