1. An isolated bladder endometriosis misdiagnosed as a bladder tumor

Abstract

Urinary bladder endometriosis as a part of deep infiltrating pelvic endometriosis is well known, but isolated bladder involvement is very rare. A 36-year-old woman, who had two cesarean sections, was complaining of dysuria, frequency and burning micturition. MRI showed a tissular mass probably originating from the cervix and suggestive of a sarcoma. Cystoscopy identified a nodular bluish retro trigonal mass, which was completely resected. Histopathological examination was consistent with a bladder endometrioma. The patient had a conservative treatment based on estrogen-progesterone combination. After three months’ follow-up, ultrasound and cystoscopy were performed showing no signs of recurrence.

Abstract

Paratesticular liposarcomas are relatively common sarcomas in the paratesticular region, however, the myxoid variant is considered very rare. Due to the infrequency of this malignant disease, no standard treatment would be available. Multiple treatments have reported in literature with different results. Herein, we presented a case of paratesticular myxoid liposarcoma in a 67-year-old man originating from the right paratesticular soft tissue. Malakoplakia is a rare inflammatory condition that can affect many organ systems, including genitourinary tract, it is associated with impaired immune function. It is characterized by distinctive Michaelis-Gutmann bodies. Very rare cases have been reported to present as a locally advanced renal mass.

Abstract

An intrauterine device (IUD) perforating the uterus and bladder and creating a nidus for stone formation is rarely described in the international literature. A 50-year-old woman was referred to our department for 6 months history of suprapubic pain and pollakiuria without fever. Ultrasound, X-ray examination and abdominopelvic scanner confirmed an IUD perforating the uterus and the bladder. The stone on the perforating ectopic IUD was successfully removed with YAG Holmium Laser and the IUD was extracted without complications with the aid of a transurethral resectoscope.

Abstract

Schwannoma is a benign nerve tumor composed of cells of the schwann nerve sheath. Only about twenty cases have been reported in the literature to our knowledge. We report an isolated case of schwannoma of the penis in a 56-year-old man who presented a nodule of the penis in the balanopreputial groove that had been progressively increasing in size for three years. Anatomopathological and immunohistochemical criteria allowed for a positive diagnosis. Treatment consisted of surgical excision followed by rigorous surveillance.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the most important infectious diseases, particularly in the world. Amongst the genitourinary organs, prostatic TB is less common. We report an 68 year old patient, immunocompetent who presented obstructive and irritative symptoms of the lower urinary tract. A history of pulmonary tuberculosis was not present. The digital rectal examination was suspicious and PSA was a normal. The biopsy results did not reveal any malignant lesions but the transurethral resection of the prostate performed for voiding purposes showed prostatic tuberculosis. A very good clinical and biological improvement was observed after chemotherapy anti-tuberculosis.

Abstract

Hydatid disease is a parasitic infestation that is endemic in many sheep and cattle-raising geographic areas including Mediterranean countries. Primary retro vesical hydatid cyst is a very rare entity. It can be revealed by urinary and gynecological signs. We reported a case of a retro vesical hydatid cyst in a 67-years old woman revealed by an acute urinary retention.
