Abstract

Species diversity and distribution pattern of marine mammals of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman - Iranian Waters. This coastal marine mammal species is vulnerable to fishingrelated incidental mortality, which impacts the population throughout its range (Jefferson & Wang, [9]). The Indo-Pacific Finless Porpoise, I Neophocaena phocaenoides i (G. Cuvier, 1829) is an elusive species of marine mammal under the Family Phocoenidae, inhabiting shallow coastal waters ranging from the Arabian Peninsular to Taiwan (Jefferson & Wang, [9]; Lin et al., [10]).
