Abstract In this study, the activated carbon has been prepared from sawdust and this was done by carbonization of sawdust at temperature of 350º C for 3 hours, after that treated with KOH at various ratios ranging from (0.5:1), (1:1), (1:2), (KOH: Carbonized materials) using microwave radiation at power of (90, 180, 270, 360, 450, 540, 630, 720) watt and at period of (6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20) minutes, many tests have been conducted on of prepared activated carbon samples such as determining the activity of the samples through adsorption of iodine and methylene blue from aqueous media. The density, ash content and humidity were measured and all the properties were compared with commercial one from B.D.H.

This work presents a theoretical analysis for the prediction of refrigerant saturation temperature inside a typical solar two-phase loop. This loop may be incorporated in any solar heating system for transporting heat between the solar collector and storage tank. The procedure takes into account all influencing parameters such as:- solar irradiance, ambient temperature, heat transfer coefficients in the source (collector) and sink (condenser), collector fill ratio and the geometric parameters of the solar collector and condenser.The trend of change of saturation temperature was studied over a typical daytime period extending 8 hours. Mathematical models were formulated for the collector and condenser to take into account the most influencing parameters. The models are highly interrelated which required an iterative procedure. A computer program was built to implement the iterative procedure and simulate the change of saturation temperature during the studied period. The period was divided into small time intervals of 10 seconds.Results reveal a significant influence of condenser area, collector fill ratio and the working conditions on the calculated saturation temperature.

The Sense of Security faculty members in Jordanian Public Universities and its Relationship to their Job Performance from their Department Heads` Perspectiveabstract: This study aimed to identify the degree of the Sense of security among faculty members in Jordanian public universities, and clarify its relation to their job performance from their department heads` perspective. The study population consisted of (314) department heads, (85) of whome were selected randomly as study a sample. To achieve the goal of the study, a Sense of security questionnaire, and job performance questionnaire which were developed by the researcher were used. The results revealed that the degree of Sense of security by the participants was high (4.0505 out of 5). The job performance level for the board in their units was also high (3.77 out of 5). There was also a significant statically relation between sense of security and job performance (Coefficient = 0.54), Which is a significant statically relation.
