This article is devoted not only to how language, traditions and the past can serve as a creative resource for the creative activity of youth, but also about the ways music becomes a tool for social memory development by youth at the level of everyday life. In this article we want to consider how the historical memory of modern youth is actualized through cultural practices and interests. Actualization should be understood on the one hand, as referring to the themes of the past, not only to legitimize certain decisions of the state, social movements and public persons, but also to justify, with the help of the past, a certain assessment of current events and incitement to action. Also, a significant layer of research draws attention to the creation of symbolic objects (including music) to demonstrate the specific content of historical representations of various groups and those remembering practices that are relevant to them. Moreover, the level of these practices can be both organized, associated with the actions of formal institutions (the World Forum of Tatar Youth, for example), and relate to direct interaction between people at the everyday level - in our study the thing is about the latter.

The relevance of the topic is determined by the necessity of further research of cultural and spiritual traditions in India, for the study of the history of Islam spread and establishment, and for development of the Sufi doctrine formation theory. Taking into account the local history aspect of the topic, we note that now we are seeing a gradual restoration of Sufism in Tatarstan. It is a reference to the past of Sufism in the region, an appeal to the religious heritage of the Tatar people. The leading approach to the study of this topic is the theoretical and conceptual, historical and scholarly understanding of continuity in the sequential study of this topic. This article aims to achieve the following aims: the analysis and evaluation of Sufism as a constituent of Indian culture, aimed at ensuring the implementation of modern ethical and aesthetic concepts of Sunni Islam, their transformation in the mass consciousness of the Muslim peoples of India. The main results of this study are the identification and development of the accumulated material on the stated topic, and further development of its theoretical and practical bases. Referring to centuries of experience and traditions of Islam, it is important to turn to the study of the history and philosophy of Sufism in the Indian subcontinent.

The problems of word formation intensively studied during all periods of the development of linguistics have not lost their relevance at the present time, since word formation is the most important means of replenishing the vocabulary of the language. The vocabulary of the language is in a state of almost continuous development, reflecting the changes that happen in all areas of people’s lives and activities. The continuous process of creating new words in a language is a complex cognitive process that takes place under the influence of extralinguistic factors, nevertheless it follows the existing prototypes used by analogy in accordance with structural models. Speaking of the word formation model, we mean a certain set structure that has a generalized categorical meaning and develops a number of other hierarchically related lexical meanings, implying not only a structure, but also certain semantics. The word-formation model is at the beginning of the word-forming process, determining how the initial elements of the language build a new name. Of particular interest for research in this regard are the derived words that are formed from the stems with semantics of quantity. As is known, the names of numerals are not formed from other parts of speech, but they themselves freely participate in the word-formation of nouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs and other parts of speech. In Tatar linguistics there are practically no special studies concerning the numerals as a nominative base of the Tatar language system. The need to study the names of numerals as an independent motivational unit of language determines the relevance of this work. The results of the research can be used to work out lecture courses in general linguistics, lexicology, morphology, word formation of the Tatar language.

The article investigates the state and dynamics of the national development and international relations in the course of 28 years in Tatarstan. It touches upon different and sometimes contradictory points of view on these processes. The article also represents the dynamics of the changes in the evaluation of these matters. Besides it studies the dynamics of opinions on issues related to the status of Tatarstan, the use of Tatar and Russian languages, etc. Methods of a longitudinal research allow making a comparative analysis of the empirical data that have been accumulating for several decades since 1989. The last empirical survey was conducted by us in 2017. This survey of Naberezhnye Chelny residents aged over 18 was carried out according to a stratified (regionalized) sample (n = 650), and ensured representativeness.

The relevance of this paper is due to the multicultural nature of the Russian state and the significant role of religion in the contemporary socio-cultural and political processes taking place in the country. The knowledge and analysis of the history of the relationship between government and religion in Russia in general and in its individual regions will undoubtedly contribute to a more objective understanding of the fundamental aspects of the contemporary religious situation in Russia, since many problems in this field are now, in many cases, conditioned by a certain specificity or distortions in the state's policy toward religion - in the past. In this regard, the chronological scope of the research - the ambiguous and in many respects contradictory period of the Khrushchev's "thaw" - has a great scientific and applied interest in the problems under study. The administrative and geographic scope of the study is limited to the territory of the Tatar ASSR - a region traditionally formed as multi-confessional. At the same time, the processes that took place in the religious sphere of the Tatar ASSR in many respects were characteristic of many other multicultural regions of the Soviet state. The objective of the paper is to identify the factors that conditioned the survival and functioning of religious associations of the republic under the dominating atheistic ideology and strengthening of the anti-religious administrative pressure of the state in the contradictory period of the Khrushchev's "thaw".

The problems of interdependence of linguocognitive and linguoculturological advanced the cognitive approach in language learning to the forefront. Considering linguistic and extralinguistic knowledge as a comprehensive whole conditioned by correlation between language, thinking, world image, national and cultural peculiarities and human world. In the 21 st century each language is like a determining feature of a man, which serves the purposes of communication and is the store of information, accumulated by speech community, as well as fountain of national originality and cultural values. It is the language that is a means of knowing the language speaker, approach to his consciousness, to the discrete units–concepts, national lexemes, language units. One cognizes the linguistic world image and national picture of the world through the linguistic categories. In connection with the above-mentioned, we are interested in analyzing a linguistic category / a concept that expresses the semantic category such as wish/desire in the Tatar language. In the process of studying the linguistic category “wish” and revealing the linguistic means in Tatar, we have found that “wish” acquires a variety of means of linguistic representation – lexically full-value units, syntactic word-combinations, morphological categories and others. For that reason, a diversity of means allowed of our believing that the representation of the structure of linguistic category “wish/desire” in the Tatar language as a functional-semantic field of desire is perspective.

Studying the Tatar piano repertoire as element of national musical traditions is an important factor of ethnocultural development of the future music teachers of Tatarstan in the course of vocational training in higher education institution. It is caused inexhaustible by opportunities of ethnomusical heritage in formation of the personality, need of development in students of professionally significant ethnopsychological qualities, readiness for the solution of musical and educational tasks on the basis of the Tatar national culture. Disclosure of potential of the Tatar piano music in ethnocultural development of future music teachers became a research objective. On the basis of synthesis of experience of musical and performing training of future music teachers - students of Leo Tolstoy Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Kazan Federal University, the performing analysis of the Tatar piano music, authors submit compositions in which found the brightest embodiment of tradition of the Tatar folk art. It is shown that, working on piano works, students learn deep moral and esthetic meaning of the Tatar folklore. They develop ethnocultural ideas of love, family values, gratitude to parents and respect of seniors, devotion to traditions of a sort, the importance of family education. Performance of songs always opened the emotional world of the person, reflected his intimate thoughts and experiences connected with hard destiny, aspiration fortunately and belief in the best. The deep moral and esthetic meaning of the Tatar folklore embodied by means of expression of piano music is shown in article; musical contents of works of the Tatar composers, their variety and opportunities in ethnocultural development of future music teachers reveal.

The article is devoted to the study of structure and activity of the network of centers of Tatar virtual Institute of Kayum Nasyri, created on the basis of Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication after Leo Tolstoy of Kazan Federal University. The aim of the Institute of Kayum Nasyri is the desire to become a world brand in its field. In this context, the Institute relies on the experience of such world-known educational centers as the British Council, the Institute named after Goethe, Cervantes Institute, Confucius Institute and Institute by Yunus Emre. The Institute's activities are associated with the development of collaboration in the field of education, support, promotion and development of the Tatar language and culture in the regions of the Russian Federation, countries of near and far abroad. There are 7 educational-cultural centers in the Institute at this moment. Each center is supplied with educational, informative literature and fiction, as well as the video-conferencing system for training, conferences and events online. The Institute of Kayum Nasyri is named after the famous Tatar educator. As a fervent supporter of friendship between Russian and Tatar people, he was the first of the educators to acquaintance the Tatars with the Russian history and culture in their native language, translated into the Tatar language many textbooks on geography, physics, mathematics, etc. Kayum Nasyri at the time, made the Russian-Tatar dictionary, was the author of a textbook of Russian grammar for the Tatars, as well as of the significant works in the field of the Tatar linguistics.

This research, from an identification position in it art and style features, analyzes prosaic works of Marat Kabirov ("The mystery of yellow houses", "Goes the ghost", "A name of your angel") who represents the intellectual direction in modern Tatar literature. The subject of studying of scientific work is made by esthetic specifics of this direction of the Tatar prose, art and style features of works, representative from the point of view of the characteristic of intellectualization in national historic-literary process as qualitatively new literary phenomenon in the Tatar prose of the end of 20 - the beginnings of the 21 century. Modern literary critics mark out the most general property of all intellectual texts as belonging to modernist and postmodern literary tradition", inter-text, literary and historical hints, metaphoricalness, etc. In the analyzed M. Kabirov's works not separate images, not separate lines become metaphors, but the work in general is a difficult, polysynthetic, multiple-valued metaphor, a metaphor symbol. In these works readers gradually become as if accomplices of the event, "move" in the text of a plot as equals with the author and heroes, that there is a dialogue mode of reading of the work as one of indicators of intellectualization of prose.

In this article, an essay is considered as a journalistic genre in the context of modern Tatar journalism. Using the example of works by contemporary authors in the Tatar-speaking periodicals of Russia, the main genre and the semantic features of this genre are studied. An essay is a publicistic form to reflect on the topical issues of Russian reality. The reproduction of a fact is not so important for an essay. An important role is played by the description of the author's impressions, reflections and emotions. The periodical press has many materials in the Tatar language in which the author's opinion, author's principle and subjective opinion are strongly expressed. In fact, during the last decades of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century there was a surge of essays in modern journalism. Due to some political events in Russia during the early 90s of the twentieth century, it was possible to express their thoughts and speak on the urgent problems in society openly in comparison with the Soviet reality. The object of research is essayism as a kind of journalistic creativity, the subject of the study is the essay genre in Tatar journalism. The empirical basis of the work consisted of the essays from Tatar journalists, publicists and writers. Provided that the personality of an author is one of the effectiveness factors concerning the publications in the genre of essay, the essayization of texts in Tatar journalism will be increased in the future.

The article studies the functional and typological features of woman magazine published in the city of Kazan of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia). The magazine "Syuyumbike" is the only woman magazine for the Tatars, the people of the Turkic ethnos living in the central regions of the European part of Russia. The Tatars make up 3.87% of population in Russia. "Syuyumbike", as the magazine with a century-old history, spreads throughout Russia. Besides it is read by Tatars, compactly residing in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the USA, Finland and Australia. In Soviet times, the circulation reached half a million copies, and it makes only 10 thousand at present, one fifth of which is distributed outside of Tatarstan. Despite the fact that the publishers of the magazine do not share their readers on the basis of gender, the main character of the magazine is a woman, an active member of modern society. The magazine, being the platform for the exchange of opinions among the representatives of Tatar nation from all over the world, serves to search for the solutions to various problems of our time. The identification of typological features makes it possible to determine the place of publication in the media system, it has an undeniable significance for the further development of newspaper and magazine market in the national languages of Russia. After the historical development analysis and the analysis of the magazine "Syuyumbike" current state, the authors made conclusions about the trends and the prospects of its further development.

This paper considers the proverbs of the Tatar language with a numeral component «бер» / “ber” (one). Reasoning from the meaning of the numerals used in the introduced phraseological units, conditional semantic groups have been formed. In the course of the analysis, we have identified two large semantic groups: “Greed” and “Character traits”, and the subgroups within these two large groups. As a result of the analysis, it has been found that the combination with the noun «бертиен» (one kopeck) is used together with the words having a negative connotation. In most of the examples given, the character traits are rendered in combination of the numerals with the noun («бертиен» (one penny), «беркашыксу» (a spoonful of water), and the negative connotation of the proverbs is conveyed by means of the words with negative meanings such as «сусалмас» (someone will not give water); «каратиргә төшеп сатулашу» (bargain to all of a sweat), etc. The results of this work can be used in further studies of the semantics of numerals used in proverbial sayings; in formulating a classification of phraseological units with a numeral component; for comparative-contrastive analysis of the translations of set expressions from one language to another.

Wishes are an important category of speech etiquette, whose significance in society culture and life is undeniable. The purpose of this article is to compare the main ways of wishes in two completely different linguistic cultures. The main research methods include comparative, definitional, component and contextual analysis and ethnic-linguistic-culturological one. In the process of the study, we came to the conclusion that one of the few units of speech etiquette can function in parallel with many other phenomena of speech etiquette, such as greeting, farewell, congratulation, condolence, gratitude, advice, etc. Despite the fact that wishes are a natural norm of communication, they have a huge force of influence on a person, as they are aimed on the creation of a good mood for an interlocutor. In Tatar and English, wishes have different forms of use, which characterizes them as the most common unit of speech etiquette. Wishes are chosen by a speaker with an emphasis on the generally accepted value system, on the idea of a value system of a listener, as well as his own ideas about what is good or bad, pleasant or unpleasant for an addressee. The materials of this article can be used in the practice of intercultural communication, in the translation process of teaching English to a Tatar language audience at higher education institutions and schools in order to develop intercultural communication among learners.

The history of the World Culture is a demonstration of the "war" between the two opposites: on the one hand, we see a trend towards unification of all aspects of life on a global scale, and on the other, there is a clear confrontation between different groups of mankind. Of the many causes of the disunity of the people, the authors' focus at the opposition "friend – foe" as a metaphysical principle of formation of social space wasn't chosen by accident. The fact is that any culture, in principle, is dichotomous, and the opposition "friend – foe" is the fullest incarnation of this dichotomy. As a universal principle of the formation and functioning of the cultures, it originally manifests itself in every one of them. And, as the authors of the study suggest: this opposition could either "work" in general on the cross-cultural cooperation and unity or be one of the confrontation sources. The main result of the study is that history has prepared and put forward the Tartars for carrying out a special mission, to unite peoples and cultures. But the revolutionary social upheavals that take place in the modern world pose a threat (in the circumstances of forced migration of peoples, the growth of national consciousness of the former Soviet Union space, and especially in the face of Islamic fundamentalism) on fulfilling this function.

The relevance of the problem under study is caused by multi-confessional character of Russian society and the need of power to take into account the specific features of each confession in its religious policy. In order to understand the essential characteristics of contemporary issues in the state-confessional and inter-confessional relations the events and the processes taking place in the atheist Soviet past should be examined carefully. The purpose of the article is to study the specifics of the relationship between the authorities and associations of Evangelical Christians-Baptists during 1960s – 1980s, using the example of such a multi-confessional region as Tatarstan. The leading approach to the study of this problem was the civilizational approach, which enabled a comprehensive study of the object under study. The main results of the study are the studying of Tatar ASSR Baptist association forms and ways in the context of Soviet political and legal realities. The materials of the article can be useful in the preparation of educational literature, as well as in the practical activities of state structures implementing the policy in the spiritual sphere.

The article deals with the works of Turkic writers, including Tatar and Turkmen, in which a close interaction is clearly manifested at the synchronic and diachronic levels. Using the example of such works as the heroic epos "Manas", "Kitaby Dede Korkut" of Oguzes, as well as the poems of "Kissa-i Yusuf" by Kul Gali, the works of Turkmen writers Berdy Kerbabaev, Makhtumkuli, Zahir Bigiyev, Shakir Muhammadov, the literary and cultural interrelations of the Turkic peoples are revealed. The Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli is among them. There is information about the distribution of his works among the Tatars in manuscripts, some works were published in pre-revolutionary Tatar publications. The article deals with the history of creation, study, analysis and publication of the poems by Makhtumkuli in Tatar and Turkmen languages. Some of Mahtumkuli's works are in the library collections of Kazan, St. Petersburg, Ufa, as well as in private collections. Thus, the article concludes that despite the national differences of the Turkic peoples, they are united by common literary roots, common goals and interests, moral, spiritual and cultural values. The fact that the literature of the Turkic peoples is characterized by an abundance of authors and works, a variety of genres and poetic forms, ideological and thematic riches and a high artistic level is confirmed once again.
