The cotton feeding mechanism of SAURER blowing - carding system is introduced. Accordingly, the influence of output speed, cylinder speed, taker-in speed, cylinder and taker-in speed ratio, flat speed and gauge, front upper cover plate gauge of the JSC326 card on the spinning quality was tested. Principle and influence factor of smooth and cleaning spinning technology are introduced. Smooth and cleaning spinning technology about 18 tex cotton/wood fiber/cashmere/spun silk dyed yarn is detailed analyzed from several aspects, such as performance of raw material, spinning process, technology points and so on. Drawing process is carried out with cotton and spun silk sliver, wood fiber sliver and cashmere sliver. The main influencing factors of yarn quality by smooth and cleaning spinning technology is analyzed. Performance testing about spun yarn indicated that hairiness and evenness was improved. In order to evaluate spinning performance of the Australian long staple (ALS) cotton and to benchmark leading Chinese spinning mills, spinning trials of a new CSIRO bred Australian long staple (ALS) were carried out in collaboration with six leading Chinese spinning mills. The results showed large variation in yarn quality across the six participating mills. Thus, Cottonspec, a yarn quality prediction program developed by CSIRO, was used to benchmark mill's spinning performance using a yarn quality index, defined as the ratio between measured and predicted yarn quality. The results demonstrated that Cottonspec works very well for good spinning mills employing best management practices in terms of quality control. For these mills, prediction errors were within 2% for yarn evenness and 3% for yarn tenacity. Through production practice, studying of reducing rate of cashmere in flat strips of carding process. Using different exposed wire height, flat clothing point density, experimental tests of carding white cashmere which washed and opening. The results show that, low height of the wire can reduce rate of cashmere in flat strips, reduce cashmere loss of about 50%, to increase the ability of removing kemp and impurities, improved carding machine production and quality. By using Model YG172 hairiness tester, the hairiness of the cotton yarn samples which were spun by using respectively pin-type licker-in and saw-tooth licker-in at four different speeds were tested. The test results show that when the pin-type licker-in operated at the speed of 700 r/min, it is in favor of reducing hairiness, while the hairiness was effectively reduced when the saw-tooth licker-in operated at 1,100 r/min, and the saw-tooth licker-in is better than pin-type licker-in in term of reducing hairiness.
