To analyze the influence of in-wheel motors’ eccentricity on the ride comfort of electric vehicles, a four degree-of-freedom vibration model of electric vehicles was established to consider the mass and excitation of in-wheel motors. The corresponding state equation and output vector expression were derived, and the ride comfort evaluation index was determined. The random road excitation of the front wheel was established by using the filtered white noise method. The random road excitation relationship between the rear wheel and the front wheel was obtained by combining the Laplace transformation and the fourth-order symmetric Pade approximation. The whole vertical excitation of a typical four-phase 8/6-pole switched reluctance motor was presented. The simulation of random road excitation and in-wheel motor excitation was realized, and the ride comfort simulation and comparison of four working conditions were carried out on a B-grade road. The results showed that in-wheel motors’ eccentricity has an important influence on the ride comfort of electric vehicles on random roads, and the negative effect of in-wheel motors’ eccentricity should be considered in the design of electric vehicles. The radial electromagnetic force of the pulse vibration acts as an excitation source on the stator tooth surface of a 12/8-pole single-winding bearingless switched reluctance motor wider with rotor tooth (BSRMWR) and transmits it to the stator yoke and the stator yoke, which causes a large vibration and noise and hinders its popularization and application. In view of this problem, this paper optimizes and improves the motor housing from the perspective of the body structure. Using the three-dimensional multiphysics finite element model, the electromagnetic-structure-vibration-sound field coupling model of BSRMWR is established. The radial electromagnetic force is obtained by transient analysis of the BSRMWR electromagnetic field. The modal strain energy method is applied to the shell of BSRMWR, and the motor shell structure has a large strain energy, which shows that the motor shell structure is weak. Based on this, the casing structure of the motor is optimized by the method of morphology optimization. The results show that the vibration and noise of the BSRMWR with the chassis structure optimized by the topography are significantly improved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
