1. Visual research of the dispersion of modified fluorescent silica microspheres in silicone rubber.

- Abstract
The visualization analysis of dispersion state of the filler m silicone rubber was based on the fluorescent labeling and the laser scanning confocal microscope. The fluorescent silica microspheres were modified by different silane coupling agents, and the contact angle analysis, thermogravimetnc analysis and fluorescence spectroscopy were used to describe its surface properties. Both hydrophobic effect and bound rubber content of modified fluorescent silica microspheres are KH-570>KH-560>KH-550. Visual analysis results show that the aver- age size of aggregates and network connectivity of KH-570 modified fluorescent silica microspheres were 2.61 ̡m and 47%, KH-560 modified it were 2.95 /im and 43% and KH-550 modified it were 3.32 f(m and 41 %. The visual analysis method of the modified fluorescent SiO
2 microsphere is beneficial to observe the dispersion state of it m the silicone rubber, and this method can statistically analyze the particle size of the modified fluorescent SiO2 microsphere aggregates.
