French Shanghai Daily (Le Journal de Shanghai) was founded in 1927 by Jean Fontenoy, the special commissioner of Agency Havas. It was funded by the French Chamber of Commerce. It was published for more than ten years and sold thousands of copies daily. French Shanghai Daily was not only circulated in the French concession of Shanghai, but also distributed to other French colonies. It was the most important French newspaper published in Republican China. French Shanghai Daily was rich in content and had a variety of columns. In addition to world news and financial information, it also included literature and art columns on weekends, serializing world literary masterpieces. From January 1934 to the end of that year, the newspaper's weekend supplement added a column entitled "Today's Chinese Literature" (La littérature chinoise d'aujourd'hui), which published the French translation of works by Lu Xun, Guo Moruo, Chen Weimo, Wang Duqing, Rou Shi and other Chinese writers. These works were translated by Xu Zhongnian, a scholar who studied in France, who was responsible for the "Chinese Literature" column for La Nouvelle Revue Française in Paris. How did Xu Zhongnian translate modern Chinese literary works to readers in French Shanghai Daily? What were his translation strategies and achievements? And what kind of role did Xu play during the process of modern Chinese literature entering the world literary space? Although Xu Zhongnian's translation practice was not entirely unnoticed by scholars, his translation and introduction of modern Chinese literature in the French Shanghai Daily has attracted relatively little attention. Borrowing the point of view of the making of world literature, this paper examines the cultural connotation of Xu Zhongnian's transcultural translation practices during the early republic period. Research on the cross-domain flow pattern of agricultural virtual water can reveal the deeper relationship between trade and regional water shortage, which is of great significance for ensuring food security, optimizing water resources allocation, and promoting high-quality regional development. As the largest urban agglomerations in China, the Yangtze River Delta has frequent internal resource flows and close agricultural trade with other domestic regions. But it also faces risks such as water shortage. Taking the Yangtze River Delta as an example, this paper constructs the input-output model of water resources expansion to calculate the agricultural virtual water flow momentum, and combined with the virtual water balance state and water resources pressure state, the influence of the virtual water flow relationship driven by agricultural products trade in domestic urban agglomeration is explored. The results show that: from the state of regional water resources, the pressure state of water resources in the Yangtze River Delta is relatively high, and the water use contradiction is prominent. The state of virtual water balance is highly dependent on the inflow of virtual water from outside the region. From the perspective of time, since the new normal of economy, the Yangtze River Delta has always shown a state of net agricultural virtual water input, with the input of virtual water resources on the whole showing an upward trend, while the self-sufficiency rate of virtual water shows a downward trend and then an upward trend. Before and after the structural reform of agricultural supply side, the flow structure of agricultural virtual water in the Yangtze River Delta has changed, and Jiangsu Province has replaced Anhui Province as the most important source of virtual water in Shanghai. From the spatial dimension, the virtual water flow in the Yangtze River Delta presents a chain structure of "Anhui-Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai". The Yangtze River Delta and the rest of the country show a virtual water flow feature of "one-way flow in the north and two-way interaction in the south". Finally, based on the perspective of virtual water strategy implementation, relevant policy suggestions are put forward from the perspectives of guiding the orderly flow of resource elements within the region, perfecting the value realization mechanism of ecological products and improving the inter-regional trade structure, so as to provide references for adjusting and optimizing the regional agricultural production and trade pattern and promoting the construction of urban agglomeration in harmony between people and water. This paper focuses on the role and transitions of urban waterfronts in Shanghai during the last decade when their mainly industrial functions made place for leisure and real estate. An analysis is made how promises and ambitions behind this massive urban regeneration project are translated into realities on the ground, while focusing on the new relationship to the water. The paper explains how in the context of extreme urban pressure well-manicured new urban watersides offer attraction but also sometimes clash with their usability and ambitions. Rural field is the carrier and container to map the human social and cultural value, which is not only the concrete physical field, but also the "generator" of rural feelings. This paper follows a series of activities, such as "Modern Field" 2022 New Shanghai Village Aesthetic Education Exhibition and Forum, to explore the "rural readability" from the perspective of artistic intervention. And starting from the four themes of "returning to the field", "returning home", "returning to art" and "returning to the heart", it attempts to hold the new Shanghai banner to intervene in rural construction, restore nostalgia memory, coordinate aesthetic education matrix, promote industrial incubation, and reshape the core of the villagers-to-build. Guoluo is a typical Tibetan plateau grassland pastoral culture, with the intangible cultural heritage item of distinctive ethnic characteristics. This paper introduces the practical ways of helping Guoluo's poverty alleviation by Shanghai from four aspects: teaching, fostering and researching the local intangible cultural heritage; revitalizing traditional handicraft; providing market platform and multi-party cooperation in order to create an "external support" for Guoluo's cultural development. According to the existing layout principle of large turnout balise, the problem of train crossing turnout overspeed will occur in specific operation scenarios. Firstly, this paper makes a theoretical analysis on the risks in both the tight tracking operation mode and the changing operation mode of receiving route, and concludes that the risks of train crossing turnout overspeed in the above two scenarios endanger the driving safety. Then the composition of balise message information is analyzed, and the protection strategy of timely stopping and sending large turnout message, and the optimal setting scheme of large turnout balise group position are adopted, which realizes the protection of train overspeed crossing in the above operation scenarios. Finally, the above methods are used to compare the train operation curves in different operation scenarios based on Longcheng railway station of Shanghai-Chongqing- Chengdu High-speed Railway. The results show that the protection strategy of stopping message in time prevents the risk that the follow-up tracking train may overspeed at 160 km/ h in the tight tracking mode. After the setting location of large turnout transponder group is moved to the inside of U2S section, the train can cross the turnout laterally at the speed of no more than 80 km/ h in the changing mode of receiving route. In order to fully understand the current situation of water resources utilization in the cities in the Taihu Basin under the background of the most stringent water resources management system, this paper summarizes the existing problems, and explores the future development direction of sustainable water resources. Based on the perspective of water footprint, it studies the utilization of water resources in the Taihu Basin and eight cities including Shanghai in the basin from 2015 to 2019, combined with the LMDI (Lograrithmic Mean Divisia Index Method) model to analyze the driving effect of population, wealth, and technical level on the changing in water footprint, and build an evaluation index system for the sustainable use of water resources.The results show that the total water footprint of the Taihu Basin has been declining in the past five years, the industrial and agricultural water footprints have been declining, and the domestic water footprint has been rising. Among the cities, Shanghai has the largest total water footprint and Jiaxing has the smallest. Technical level factors have the greatest impact on water footprint change, and population factors have the least impact. The degree of affluence and population are positively driven, and the technical level is negatively driven. The water footprint structure of the Taihu Basin is relatively stable, Shanghai and Suzhou are highly dependent on external water resources. The overall water footprint benefit continues to increase, with significant differences among cities in each indicator the ecological security situation of the water footprint is not optimistic, but it has shown a continuous improvement in the past three years. The research results indicate that in the future, cities in the Taihu Basin should increase investment in water-saving technologies, techniques and equipment when formulating and adjusting water resources management policies, promote the efficient development and utilization of agricultural and industrial water, strengthen the management of domestic water quotas, and pay attention to the pressure of population growth on water resources, continuously improve the utilization rate of water resources, and realize the sustainable use of regional water resources. Scholars have long been interested in Shanghai's modern literary circle of the 1930s, often referred to as the "Shanghai school--aesthetic literature" to emphasize its affiliation with 19th-century European aesthetics. What kind of aesthetics was then being embraced by intellectuals and artists in 1930s Shanghai? Here I will examine a French novel translated at this time in Shanghai. "Mademoiselle de Maupin," written by Théophile Gautier (1811-1872), is a representative and influential masterpiece of French literary aesthetics, whose famous preface preached the doctrine of "Art for art's sake". The Chinese translation of this romance is rendered by Lin Weiyin (1899-1982), a member of the prominent Green club in in 1930s Shanghai. Lin's essay, entitled "life for art's sake," was published in the journal Green (Lu), and his novel "Madame de Salon" (Huatingfuren) are both seen as works which were inspired by Gautier's novel. By comparing and examining Mademoiselle de Maupin, Lin Weiyin's translated version, and his novel, this paper attempts to present some differences between the aesthetic writings of Shanghai writers of the 1930s and 19th-century French and English aesthetics. In his fiction Lin attempted to promote his ideas concerning the modern woman, and the plot of his novel concerns the conflict between a modern woman and traditional marriage values, at the time a sensational theme in China and one attractive to popular readers. In effect, the anti-morality and anti-utilitarianism aims of 19th century European aesthetics, art and literature had been transplanted to become the 1930s "Shanghai school," which tended to advocate greater individual freedom and greater openness with regard to the body and the sensual as well as intellectual and artistic life. This paper then seeks to explore what Lin's "life for art's sake" manifesto really meant, and to compare it with the more widespread "art for life's sake" trend of that period in China.
