The principle scheme and the new type of measuring technique and equipment for deformation monitoring of soft soil foundation of underwater beach protection embankment was proposed in this paper, by considering the technical characteristics of deformation monitoring of this kind of soft soil foundation, to solve the problem of deformation monitoring of soft soil foundation of underwater beach protection embankment in Yangtze River deepwater channel. The deformation process and rules of the soft soil foundation under water during and after the construction period was obtained. According to the measured results, the settlement during the construction period accounted for 83 % of the total settlement, and the deep horizontal displacement during the construction period accounted for 78 % of the total deep horizontal displacement in the typical section riprap period. The riprap loading was the prime reason to the layered settlement and deep horizontal displacement of soft soil foundation under water. Based on the final settlement calculation result, the average consolidation degree of the typical monitoring section was 86.2 %. This paper studied the distribution characteristics of phosphorus contents of 107 flue-cured tobacco leaf samples from domestic main tobacco areas and Zimbabwe, and analyzed the relationships between phosphorus contents and routine chemical components. The results indicated that: CD the phosphorus content of domestic main tobacco areas ranged from 0.25% to 0.66% with the mean of (0.43 ±0.08) %, the phosphorus content of Zimbabwe ranged from 0.45% to 0.67% with the mean of (0.53 ± 0.05) %; (2) the order of the phosphorus contents in flue-cured tobacco leaves among different areas was Zimbabwe (0.53%) > Southeast tobacco area (0.49%) > the upper and middle Yangtze River tobacco area (0.45%) > Southwest tobacco area (0.42%) > the Yellow and Huai River tobacco area (0.41%) > North tobacco area (0.39%), and the differences among these areas reached extremely significant level; (3) the phosphorus contents increased with the rise of stalk position, and there was no significant difference among different positions; (4) the phosphorus content in flue-cured tobacco leaf had significant or extremely significant positive correlation with nicotine, potassium and chlorine contents, and had extremely negative correlation with total sugar, reducing sugar content and nitrogen/nicotine, sugar/nicotine, but had no significant correlation with total nitrogen and potassium/chlorine; (5) the clustering results based on the phosphorus contents and harmonic character evaluation of the chemical components at different phosphorus content levels showed that the flue-cured tobacco leaves with medium and high phosphorus content clusters had proper chemical components, better harmony among indexes and high available value. This paper defines transport superiority from three aspects: quality, quantity and advantage, which are respectively measured by highway network density, proximity to the transport arteries and location advantage degrees. The historical transmutation, spatiotemporal differentiation of the transport geographical pattern in Wuhan Urban Agglomeration, as well as the correlation between transport superiority and economic development level are analyzed quantitatively by applying GIS technology and mathematical model. A number of valuable implications have been drawn. First of all, the changes of historical prosperity and wane in Wuhan urban agglomeration region were closely related to the transport geographical pattern. The unique modern traffic geographical advantages bred the prosperity of Wuhan area, while the development of contemporary transportation technology resulted in the homogenized pattern of traffic superiority in China and thus the wane of Wuhan as the 'center' or 'terminal' of trade and transportation. Secondly, the regional comprehensive transport superiority of a layer structure, with that of the central city, Wuhan, being highest and those of the dies along the Yangtze River and the Wuhan--Jiujiang industrial belt decreasing gradually. Thirdly, the absolute and relative differences of the transport superiority in Wuhan Urban Agglomeration had enlarged from 1980 to 2010, showing a continuously strengthened trend of polarization. Fourthly, there is a significant coupling relationship between transport superiority and economic development level in Wuhan Urban Agglomeration, with a large percentage of population and industry of this area concentrating in the small number of counties with prominent transport superiority. The HJ- 1 satellite is a naive optical satellite, specializing in the environment and disaster monitoring, which has a high time and space resolution, and could be downloaded freely. So it's able to monitor the sediment concentration timely, continuously and accurately, and has a good application prospect for monitoring the second type inland water by remote sensing. This paper has taken the middle reaches of Yangtze River in Wuhan as the study area. A precise sediment concentration calculation model is developed, by making use of the first and third bands of CCD data in HJ-1 satellite. After this, it retrieves the sediment concentration in Wuhan reach, and gets its space distribution map on November 14th, 2008. The result has showed that the root mean square error (RMSE) of this model is 8. 84 mg/L, and the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) is 13. 6%. The sediment concentration in Yangtze river is higher than Han river near Wuhan city, and the concentration is higher near the central bar than other areas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Qipanzhou Yangtse River Bridge is of long span, light and soft structure. Its design and construction are extremely sensitive to strong wind. Therefore, an automatic observation station, Qipanzhou automatic weather station, is established near the bridge to observe the characteristics of the wind at the bridge. On the basis of the wind data observed at Qipanzhou weather station and data collected from Huangshi whether station from Feb. 2011 to Jan. 2012, the mean wind speed, extreme wind speed, extreme wind speed are analyzed in details in this paper. The results indicate: 1) most of the time, the monthly average wind speed, maximum wind speed and extreme wind speed at Qipanzhou weather station are larger than Huangshi weather station; 2) As the wind speed increases, the correlation between the daily maximum wind speed at bridge and Huangshi weather station decline gradually until irrelevant; 3) the predominate wind directions at Qipanzhou weather station are converging SSE and NW, in some degree different from those at Huangshi weather station, which are E and NW and non-converging. The Fuxing guan on Yuhuang Mountain, Hangzhou, was rebuilt by Jiang Yonglin from donations during the third year of Emperor Tongzhi (1854). From the late Qing dynasty (1840-1912) to the Republican period (1912-1949), the Fuxing guan flourished and as a site of a lot of chuanjie ... activities, became a famous Daoist temple in the area to the south of the Yangtze River. From the early 20th century to the early 1950s, Li Lishan was the master of the Fuxing guan. Li was very proficient in zhai-jiao ... ceremonies, medicines, wushu ... and shushu ..., and he established Daoist societies in Shanghai and Hangzhou. People esteemed him as a well-known Daoist of the Quanzhen ... Order. Li was also an activist, and kept close relationships with the key officials and influential business men of Shanghai. He initiated all kinds of charities, much appreciated among the masses. The Gardens & Landscapes Bureau took charge of the Fuxing guan in 1964, and relegated its case to the Daoist Society of Hangzhou in 2004. In recent years, the zhai-jiao activities and incense offerings at the Fuxing guan have been renewed, leading to a revival of Daoism on Yuhuang Mountain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
