In view of the strict compatibility constraint requirements of C-band satellite navigation signals, continuous phase modulation based on prolate spheroidal wave functions (CPM-PSWF) is exploratorily applied to C-band navigation. After analyzing the influence of key parameters on the power spectrum characteristics of CPM-PSWF signal, four CPM-PSWF sub-families are initially screened as candidate navigation igneous for C-band, and their navigation performance indicators are also evaluated. On the basis of weighing the spectrum compatibility of the C-band signal and various navigation performance indicators, it is proposed to use the CPM-PSWF signal with "QM2PSWF (10) C=6" and h=0. 5 as the C-band navigation signal of the BeiDou system. The research shows that compared with the current C-band non-CPM-PSWF candidate navigation signal, the proposed CPM-PSWF signal spectrum leakage is less, the out-of-band attenuation is faster, and the code tracking accuracy and anti-multi-path performance are more competitive.
