A total of 3 607 surface soil samples in the cultivated land of Quanzhou City were collected and analyzed. The spatial distribution of available boron content in the cultivated soil and its influencing factors were studied by u- sing the statistical analysis method. The results showed that: the content of available boron in the cultivated soil of Quanzhou City was relatively deficient on the whole. The content of available boron ranged from 0.01 to 1.90 mg ⋅ kg-1, and the average content of available boron in the soil was 0.33 mg ⋅ kg-1. The content of available boron in 79.5% of cultivated soil was at a low or very low level. The land use types, soil types, altitude, soil physical and chemical properties had different effects on the content of available boron in soil. The content of available boron in soil varied greatly, and the content of available boron in the high altitude area was significantly lower than that in the low altitude area. Boron was generally deficient in the cultivated soil in Quanzhou City, so it was necessary to apply boron fertilizer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The increasing use of nitrogen fertilizers exerts extreme pressure on the environment (e.g., greenhouse gas emissions, GHGs) for winter wheat-summer maize rotation systems in the North China Plain. The application of controlled-release fertilizers is considered as an effective measure to improve crop yield and nitrogen fertilizer utilization efficiency. To explore the impact of one-time fertilization of controlled-release blended fertilizer on crop yield and GHGs of a wheat-maize rotation system, field experiments were carried out in Dezhou Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Park from 2020 to 2022. Five treatments were established for both winter wheat and summer maize, including no nitrogen control (CK), farmers' conventional nitrogen application (FFP), optimized nitrogen application (OPT), CRU1 (the blending ratio of coated urea and traditional urea on winter wheat and summer maize was 5:5 and 3:7, respectively), and CRU2 (the blending ratio of coated urea and traditional urea on winter wheat and summer maize was 7:3 and 5:5, respectively). The differences in yield, nitrogen fertilizer utilization efficiency, fertilization economic benefits, and GHGs among different treatments were compared and analyzed. The results showed that nitrogen application significantly increased the single season and annual crop yields of the wheat-maize rotation system ( P < 0.05). Compared with those of FFP, the CRU1 and CRU2 treatments increased the yields of summer maize by 0.4% to 5.6%, winter wheat by -5.4% to 4.1%, and annual yields by -1.1% to 3.9% ( P > 0.05). N recovery efficiency (NRE), N agronomic efficiency (NAE), and N partial factor productivity (NPFP) were increased by -8.6%-43.4%, 2.05-6.24 kg·kg -1 , and 4.24-10.13 kg·kg -1 , respectively. Annual net income increased by 0.2% to 6.3%. Nitrogen application significantly increased the annual emissions of soil N 2 O and CO 2 in the rotation system ( P < 0.05) but had no effect on the annual emissions of CH 4 (except for in the FFP treatment in the first year). The annual total N 2 O emissions under the CRU1 and CRU2 treatments were significantly reduced by 23.4% to 30.2% compared to those under the FFP treatment ( P < 0.05). Additionally, nitrogen application significantly increased the annual global warming potential (GWP) of the rotation system ( P < 0.05), but the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions was reduced due to the increase in crop yields. Compared with that under FFP, the annual GWP under the CRU1 and CRU2 treatments decreased by 9.6% to 11.5% ( P < 0.05), and the annual GHGs decreased by 11.2% to 13.8% ( P > 0.05). In summary, the one-time application of controlled-release blended fertilizer had a positive role in improving crop yield and economic benefits, reducing nitrogen fertilizer input and labor costs, and GHGs, which is an effective nitrogen fertilizer management measure to promote cleaner production of food crops in the North China Plain.

To elucidate the agronomic and environmental effects of single basal application of controlled-release blended fertilizer in summer maize, and optimize management measures of nitrogen fertilizer for grain production in North China Plain, we conducted a field experiment in Dezhou Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Park in Shandong Province. There were four treatments: CK (no N fertilizer), FFP (farmer's fertilizing practice, 240 kg N·hm -2 ), OPT (optimized nitrogen application, 210 kg N·hm -2 ), and CRBF (controlled-release blended fertilizer with single basal application, 210 kg N·hm -2 ). We compared maize yield and reactive nitrogen loss, and quantitatively evaluated the carbon and nitrogen footprints by using life cycle assessment method. The results showed that nitrogen application significantly increased summer maize yield. Compared with FFP, OPT and CRBF increased summer corn yield by 0.7% and 2.9%, respectively, decreased the total amount of ammonia volatilization, N 2 O emission, and nitrate leaching by 13.0% and 72.7%, 13.3% and 37.5%, 20.5% and 23.5% respectively. Compared with CK, nitrogen application significantly increased the global warming potential (GWP) of summer maize production. Compared with FFP, GWP and greenhouse gas emission intensity of OPT decreased by 3.8% and 4.2%, while the reduction of CRBF were 8.7% and 12.0%, respectively. Compared with CK, nitrogen application significantly increased the carbon and nitrogen footprint of summer maize production. The production and transportation of nitrogen fertilizer and soil greenhouse gas emission were the main contributing factors of the carbon footprint, with contribution rates of 54%-60% and 24%-31%, respectively. Nitrate leaching was the main contributing factor of nitrogen footprint, with contribution rate of 57%-94%. Compared with FFP, the carbon and nitrogen footprints of OPT and CRBF were reduced by 11.0% and 16.5%, 19.6% and 28.4%, respectively. Considering the yield, reactive nitrogen loss and carbon and nitrogen footprint, we recommended the single basal application of controlled-release blended fertilizer as an effective nitrogen fertilizer management measure to promote grain clean production in the North China Plain.

We explored the effects of addition of sorghum stubble rhizosphere soil on the growth of continuous cropping cucumber and rhizosphere microbial community in a pot experiment. The diffe-rences in soil bacterial and fungal community composition were analyzed with fluorescence quantitative PCR and high-throughput sequencing technology. There were four treatments: CK (no fertilization), T 1 (fertilizer only), T 2 (optimized fertilization), and T 3 (optimized fertilization + rhizosphere soil of sorghum stubble). The results showed that compared with other treatments, T 3 promoted the growth and development of cucumber, and increased the abundance of 16S rRNA and ITS rRNA genes in soil. Compared with the T 1 treatment, T 2 and T 3 significantly increased the richness and diversity of bacterial communities. There was no significant difference in fungal community richness and diversity among different treatments. Adding rhizosphere soil of sorghum stubble changed the composition of bacterial and fungal communities at both phylum and genus levels. For bacteria, it increased the abundances of Acidobacteria and Bacteroides, but decreased that of Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Nitrospira and Bacillus. For fungi, it increased the abundance of Basidiomycota, Trichoderma and Pseudurotium , but decreased that of Fusarium and Metarhizium . Results of redundancy analysis showed that soil nitrate and organic matter were the key factors affecting the difference of bacterial and fungal community composition, respectively. In conclusion, addition of sorghum stubble rhizosphere soil improved the total abundance of soil microorganisms and bacterial diversity for continuous cropping cucumber. It increased the abundance of beneficial bacteria Trichoderma , reduced that of pathogenic Fusarium , and maintained the survival rate of cucumber, thus provided a feasible solution for alleviating the barriers for the continuous cropping of cucumber.

Objective: To investigate the effect of β-arrestin1 gene on senescence of T-ALL cells and its possible mechanism., Methods: The bone marrow specimens of T-ALL patients and controls were collected, the expression of β-arrestin1 and β-arrestin1 in the T-ALL patients was detected by RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively, and the relation of β-arrestin1 expression with the clinical pathologic characteristics and the prognosis of T-ALL patients was analyzed statistically. The stable Jurkat cell line with knocked down or overexpressed β-arrestin1 was constructed, the CCK method was used to detect the Jurkat cell number, the β-gal staining was used to analyze the effect of β-arrestin1 on senescence of Jurkat cells, the cross analysis of RNA-Seg data and KEGG data was performed for screening the possible signaling pathway, and Western blot was performed for varifying the key sites of signaling pathway., Results: The β-arrestin1 expression in specimens of T-ALL patients decreased (P＜0.01), moreover the β-arrestin1 expression negatively related with peripheral blood cell number (r=-0.601), the blasts in peripheral blood (r=-0.516) and extramedullary infiltration (r=-0.359), while positively related with the response to chemotherapy (r=0.393). The detection of stable Jurkat cell line with knocked-down and overexpressed β-arrestin1 found that the β-arrestin 1 could decrease the Jurkat cell number and accelarate the senescence of Jurkat cells (P＜0.05). The cross analysis of RNA-Seg data and KEGG data showed that the senescence of T-ALL cells may be regulated via RAS-P16-PRb-E2F1 by β-arrestin 1. Western bolt confirmed that β-arrestin1 promoted the expression of Ras and p16, and decreased the expression of pRB and E2F1 (P＜0.05)., Conclusions: β-arrestin1 accelerates the senescence of Jurkat cells via Ras-p16-pRb-E2F1, and delays the progression in T-ALL, which may provide a new hypothesis for the pathogenesis of T-ALL.

Three monitoring plots were established in the Yangming Mountains mossy dwarf forest concentration zone in the Yangmingshan National Nature Reserve in Hunan Province in 2005. The changes of species composition and diversity during 2005-2016 were analyzed from species numerical characteristics, species importance value, diameter class structure, height structure, and species diversity. The results showed that from 2005 to 2016, the individual number for ≥1.0 cm diameter at ground height (DGH) in tree layer decreased by 30.9%. Viburnum dilatatum decreased greatest with 98.6%, and Rhododendron fortunei decreased least with 1.8%. Species richness was increased, and evenness was decreased. Except for R. fortunei, the importance values of all the species decreased significantly after ten years, indicating that R. fortunei was the dominant species in the dwarf forest. The diameter-class distribution of species in the dwarf forest was arranged at 1 cm level. The density of small-diameter (1 cm≤DGH＜6 cm) species was higher, but that of medium-diameter (6 cm≤DGH＜15 cm) and large-diameter (15 cm≤DGH) was lower. The diameter-class distribution of R. fortunei exhibited a reversed 'J' shape, and the height of community increased from 2005 to 2016, indicating the population had a stable and well-developing trend. The other species were poorly renewed and their diameter-class structure was irregular. Generally, the Patrick and Menhinick richness indices and the Simpson index were increased, and the Shannon and Pielou indices were decreased during the ten years.

Objective: To explore the key genes in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) using bioinformatics method to better understand the pathogenic mechanisms of T-ALL., Methods: The gene expression profiles of GSE14317 were obtained from Gene Expression Omnibus database. The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in T-ALL were analyzed using R package Limma. The online analysis tool DAVID was used to perform the functional and pathway enrichment analysis. The protein-protein interaction network was constructed by STRING and visualized by Cytoscape. Based on the JASPAR database, the transcription factors (TFs) of the hub genes were obtained. RT-PCR was used to test the mRNA expression level of the key genes., Results: A total of 1443 DEGs were identified, including 800 up-regulated genes and 643 down-regulated genes. These DEGs were significantly enriched in the cell cycle, hematopoietic cell lineage, cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction and T cell receptor signaling pathway. The top 10 hub genes identified from the PPI networks included CDK1, PIK3R1, CCNB1, CCNA2, CDC20, JUN, GNG11, PLK1, PCNA and CCNB2, which were enriched in chemokine signaling pathway, ubiquition mediated proteolysis and cell cycle. In the TF-target gene network, 42 differentially expressed TFs were identified, among which ELF5, HIC2 and MEISI had binding sites with 9 of the candidate hub genes. RT-PCR showed that the mRNA expression level of all the candidate hub genes except for GNG11 were consistent with the gene expression profiles., Conclusion: The hub genes CDK1, PIK3R1, CCNB1, CCNA2, CDC20, JUN, PLK1, PCNA, CCNB2, ELF5, HIC2 and MEISI participate in the occurrence of T-ALL. Our finding provides new insights into the pathogenesis of T-ALL.

Background: The behavior of mentors impacts the quality and experience of nursing students who are studying in clinical placement. Accurately assessing the behavior of mentors is fundamental to training, regulating, guiding, and improving their behavior and quality of teaching., Purpose: To test the validity and reliability of the Clinical Nursing Mentors' Behavior Scale (CNMBS) among mentors., Methods: This study included three stages. During the first stage, seven Chinese experts were invited to evaluate content validity. During the second stage, the test-retest reliability was examined with 63 mentors. During the third stage, a cross-sectional study was conducted. Seven hundred and sixty-six nursing mentors from five hospitals in Beijing, Shenzhen, and Sichuan completed the survey either online or in hard copy form. The data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using item analysis, construct validity, internal consistency and discriminant validity, with the results used to determine the psychometric characteristics of the CNMBS., Results: The content validity index for the CNMBS was .91. The intra-class correlation coefficient was .89; the range of the item discrimination critical ratio was 9.42-22.43 (p < .001), and the item-total correlation was .35- .70 (p < .001). The three factors of "guiding personal growth", "promoting professional development", and "providing psychosocial support" and a total of 23 items were identified, with item factor loadings ranging from .51 to .79. The three factors explained 50.99% of total variance. The internal consistency of the CNMBS earned a Cronbach's α coefficient of .92, while those of the three subscales were .89, .86 and .75, respectively., Conclusions: The Clinical Nursing Mentors' Behavior Scale demonstrated high validity and reliability, supporting the CNMBS as a valid tool for assessing the teaching behavior of mentors.

Objective: To explore the early rehabilitation effect of acupuncture on brain arousal in severe craniocerebral injury., Methods: One hundred and two cases of severe craniocerebral injury were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 51 cases in each one. Based on the conventional nursing care in neurological external medicine, in observation group, acupuncture was applied at Shuigou (GV 26), Neiguan (PC 6) and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) mainly. In control group, functional electric stimulation was applied at stimulate the affected muscles of the upper limbs. Thirty days later, the lucid rate from coma, lucid interval and clinical efficacy were compared between two groups. RESULTS; The lucid rate from coma was 82.4% (42/51) in observation group, which was higher than 56.9% (29/51) in control group (P < 0.01). The lucid interval in observation group was shortened remarkably as compared with control group (P < 0.01), and the clinical efficacy was superior apparently to that in control group (P < 0.01)., Conclusion: On the basis of conventional treatment, acupuncture intervention at early stage can accelerate the recovery of brain arousal function in patients with severe craniocerebral injury.

Objective: To observe the effect of intrauterine hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection on peripheral blood mononuclear cells function of secreting interferon-gamma and interleukin-4., Methods: Pregnant women were systematically screened for HBsAg and HBeAg when attending the antenatal clinic at the Qinhuangdao Maternal and Child Health Hospital. Totally 67 pairs of mothers and infants were enrolled into this study after obtaining the women's consent. Venous blood samples were collected from the infants within 6 hours after birth and before HBIG injection and HBVac immunization. Blood sample was taken from the mother at or after the time when the infant was born. HBV DNA in plasma and PBMC from mothers and their newborns were examined using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). According to HBV DNA in PBMC of newborns, they were divided into two groups. The PBMCs isolated from newborn were cultured with purified HBsAg or phytohemagglutinin (PHA). The supernatant interleukin-4 and interferon-gamma level was measured by using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)., Results: In 19 newborns PBMC was positive for HBV DNA. Maternal PBMC HBV DNA positivity was associated with high rate of intrauterine HBV infection in the infants (chi2 = 7.58, P < 0.01). Compared with the infants whose PBMC HBV DNA was negative, the infants with PBMC positive for HBV DNA expressed a lower level interferon-gamma secretion after purified HBsAg stimulation (t = 4.71, P < 0.01), however, no significant difference was seen after PHA stimulation (t = 1.21, P > 0.05). The supernatant IL-4 level detected after stimulation with purified HBsAg was higher in the newborns whose PBMC HBV DNA was positive as compared with those negative for PBMC HBV DNA (t = -8.51, P < 0.05). The level of IL-4 did not show any significant difference after stimulation with PHA between the PBMC HBV DNA negative and positive groups (t = -2.40, P > 0.05)., Conclusion: Infection with HBV of maternal PBMC is responsible for perinatal newborn's PBMC HBV infection and it may be an important route of HBV vertical transmission. Infants whose mothers were positive for HBsAg, HBeAg and HBV DNA were at extraordinarily high risk for hepatitis B virus infection. PBMC infected with HBV could influence the status of humoral and cellular immunity resulting in persistent HBV infection and recurrent mother to infant transmission of HBV. Low responses of interferon-gamma and high interleukin-4 transcription upon specific stimulation exist in infants whose PBMC were positive for HBV DNA in uterus may contribute to immune tolerance to HBV.

A molecular spectroscopic investigation of the interaction of phenacyl thiazolium bromide (PTB) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) or human serum albumin (HSA) is reported employing fluorescence quenching techniques. It is determined that the maximal excitation wavelength is 280 nm for BSA solution, and 290 nm for HAS solution. When PTB was added into these solutions gradually, the emission peaks were decreased obviously, which are typical quenching phenomena. The results obtained reveal that there is a medium-intensity binding affinity for PTB with HSA and BSA. At 15 degrees C, the binding constants of PTB and BSA (HSA) are 3.66 x 10(3) and 3.83 x 10(3), and the numbers of binding sites are 1.02 and 1.06 respectively. At 37 degrees C, the binding constants of PTB and BSA (HSA) are 3.58 x 10(3) and 3.35 x 10(3), and the numbers of binding sites are 0.95 and 0.87 respectively. According to the thermodynamic parameters, the main sort of the binding force between the drug and BSA or HSA was electrostatic force. Based on the Föster non-radiation energy transfer theory, it could be acquired that the distance between BSA or HSA and PTB is 7.5 or 7.9 nm. According to the crystal structure of serum albumin, it can be speculated that subdomain II A was the binding sites for the interaction of PTB and serum albumin, which is the region near Try214.

Objective: Interleukin-4 plays a key role in the development of asthma. Overseas studies have shown that Q576R polymorphism in the interleukin-4 receptor (IL-4R) gene is related to asthma as well as increased serum IgE levels. This study was designed to investigate the association of Q576R polymorphism in IL-4R gene with childhood asthma and serum IgE levels., Methods: The polymorphism of IL-4R Q576R was determined by PCR/RFLP and serum total IgE level was measured using ELISA in 94 children with asthma. Sixty-eight healthy children served as controls., Results: The distribution frequency of heterozygous genotype Q576R (41%) and mutant allele R576 (26%) was significantly higher in children with asthma than that of controls (16% each) (P < 0.01; P < 0.05). The total serum IgE level between patients with genotype Q576R and Q576Q was not significantly different (225.78 +/- 51.43 IU/mL vs 163.24 +/- 31.32 IU/mL, P> 0.05)., Conclusions: The mutant R576 allele of IL-4R may be one of the candidate genes for susceptibility to asthma. Allele R576 of IL-4R is related to asthma but is irrelevant to the total serum IgE level in children with asthma.

Objective: Infants less than 35 weeks of gestational age are susceptible to peri-/intraventricular hemorrhage (PIVH). This may be due in part to low concentrations of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors. This study was conducted to determine the umbilical cord blood activities of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors II, VII, IX and X in premature infants to understand whether preterm infants have absence status of these factors the changes of theses factors' activities in premature infants' umbilical blood after vitamin K(1) was given to mothers antenatally and the preventing effectiveness of PIVH after maternal antenatal supplement of vitamin K(1)., Methods: Pregnant women in preterm labor at less than 35 weeks of gestational age were randomly selected to receive antenatal vitamin K(1) intramuscular or intravenous injections 10 mg per day for 2 to 7 days (vitamin K(1) group), or no vitamin K(1) treatment (control group). Dexamethone was antenatally given to both groups of pregnant women routinely. Vitamin K(1) group had 44 infants and the control group had 133 infants. During the same period, thirty full-term neonates' cord blood samples were obtained to determine theses factors to compare with those from the premature infants. The cranial ultrasound was performed by a same physician to understand whether the neonates were complicated with PIVH and its severity., Results: The levels of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors in umbilical blood in control group were significantly lower than those in full-term infants' cord blood (P < 0.05). However, in vitamin K(1) group, supplement of vitamin K(1) antenatally could significantly increase activities of factors II, VII and X in preterm infants' cord blood (P < 0.05). The total occurrence rates of PIVH in vitamin K(1) group and control group were 31.8% and 52.6%, respectively, (P = 0.017), and the frequency of severe PIVH in vitamin K(1) group and control group was 2.3% and 12.0%, respectively (P = 0.057)., Conclusion: Preterm infants have absence status of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors. Administration of vitamin K(1) to pregnant women at less than 35 weeks of gestational age resulted in significantly improved activities of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors II, VII, and X, and a significantly decreased frequency of PIVH and less severe hemorrhage in preterm infants.

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility, clinical effect and safety of vaginal myomectomy., Method: From January 2002 to April 2004, 45 cases treated by vaginal myomectomy were analyzed as the study group, and 45 cases treated by abdominal myomectomy during the same period in our hospital were selected as the control group. Effects of operation and recovery of two groups were compared., Results: There were no significant differences in the mean operating time, blood loss during operation between the study group, (76 +/- 21) minutes, (414 +/- 73) ml and the control group, (72 +/- 26) minutes, (404 +/- 68) ml. In the study group, the mean recovery time of bowel function (18 +/- 9) hours and average postoperative hospital stay (4.8 +/- 0.6) days were shorter than in the control group (31 +/- 8) hours, (7.8 +/- 0.4) days. For two groups menorrhagia were relieved after 6.8 months' follow-up, patients in the study group recovered more rapidly and felt more satisfactory with the effect of operation than patients in the control group., Conclusion: Vaginal myomectomy can be performed in selected patients with minimum operative injury, low complications and good short-time effect compared with abdominal myomectomy.
