- Abstract
To improve the flexibility and reliability of a control system, using distributed component technology this paper proposed a flexible manufacturing cell (FMC) control system architecture and a control software framework, which are adaptable to component design and distributed & hierarchical control. Furthermore, it described a new approach for component based distributed & hierarchical control software. Using object-oriented unified modeling language visible method, the component-based control system was designed. To verify the component based FMC distributed c% hierarchical control software provided with the characteristics or reliability, maintainability and reusability etc. , the component-based control software was implemented in Orbix 2. 3c communicational platform and VC++ 6. 0 programming environment, and tested in connection with the physical FMC shop at the Wuxi Professional Institute.
