Abstract [Objective] The study aims to investigate the soil seed bank and seedling regeneration characteristics of Amygdalus ledebouriana in Xinjiang, and to explore the limiting factors affecting the population regeneration of A . ledebouriana. [Methods] A . ledebouriana in the Ta􀆳e Basin of Xinjiang was used as the research object, and the soil seed bank and seedling regeneration were studied by means of field plot investigation, soil sample collection, and seedling number and grade statistics under the mother plant. [Results] (1) The average density of seeds in the soil seed bank of A . ledebouriana was 96.45 m2. The complete seed density of the Tuoli population was the highest, and the density of seeds eaten by the Yumin population was the highest, while the insect-eaten seeds only appeared in the Tacheng population. (2) The seeds of A . ledebouriana were mainly distributed in the litter layer, accounting for 56.29% of the total seeds, S2 (0-5 cm) soil layer accounted for 29.07%, and S3 (5-10 cm) soil layer accounted for 14.65%. The horizontal diffusion distance of soil seeds was proportional to the slope of A . ledebouriana. (3) No seedlings were found in the investigated A . ledebouriana seedlings. Grade Ⅰ seedlings accounted for 51.12% of the total number of seedlings. A . ledebouriana seedlings were concentrated in the range of 50 cm from the base of the mother plant. [Conclusion] The distribution characteristics of soil seed bank of A . ledebouriana is near the mother plant and the surface, and the characteristics of seedling regeneration is also near the mother plant distribution. Under natural conditions, gnawed seeds, insect-infested seeds, and niche loss are the main reasons why A . ledebouriana seedlings cannot germinate and the regeneration of seedlings is limited.

Fresh hazelnuts were treated by 60Co-γ irradiation (0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1.00 kGy) and stored at (4.0 ± 0.5) ℃ for up to three months. Changes in physiological indexes and lipid nutrition were monitored during the storage period. The results showed that irradiation at a dose of 0.25–1.00 kGy delayed the decline in superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activity, and reduced the activity of polyphenol oxidase (PPO) in fresh hazelnuts. The irradiation dose of 0.50 kGy was the most effective, and at the end of storage, the respiratory intensity, malondialdehyde (MDA) content and lipoxygenase activity of the irradiated sample decreased by 25.81%, 18.50% and 4.18% compared with those of the non-irradiated one, respectively. However, irradiation had no significant effect on fatty acid composition and content, peroxide value (POV) or acid value (AV). Principal component analysis (PCA) performed on fresh hazelnuts stored for 90 d also showed that 0.50 kGy 60Co-γ irradiation imparted the best storage quality to fresh hazelnuts. These results suggest that 60Co-γ irradiation can delay the senescence and effectively extend the shelf life by affecting the postharvest physiology of fresh hazelnuts.

From January 2011 to January 2012, a monitoring was made on the soil respiration rate and its major affecting environmental factors along a gradient of water table (low, medium and high) in a reclaimed tidal wetland at the Dongtan of Chongming Island in the Yangtze Estuary of China. The annual soil respiration rate in the wetland with low, medium and high water table was 0. 75-11. 57, 0. 70-12. 61, and 0. 83-6. 67 μmol · m-2 · s-1, respectively. The soil respiration rate was the maximum in July and the minimum in January. The soil temperature in 0-5 cm layer was the key microclimate factor driving the soil respiration across the three gradients, which could explain more than 70% of the seasonal variation of soil respiration in the reclaimed tidal wetland by fitting an exponential model. No significant difference was observed in the temperature sensitivity of soil respiration (Q10 value) among the three gradients. The lowest soil respiration rate in the wetland with high water table was probably due to the lower soil temperature and the higher soil volumetric water content, whereas the higher soil respiration rate in the wetland with medium water table than with low water table could be caused by the lower soil electricity conductivity and bulk density and the higher aboveground biomass and live fine root density. To appropriately manipulate the water table in the reclaimed tidal wetland could decrease soil respiration rate and enhance the carbon sink function of this degraded wetland. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Semiotics not only runs parallel to other disciplines but also constitutes a theoretic tool for them. In order to understand the semiotieal methods of Russian poetic research, this article aims to analyze Uspenskij's theory of structural poetics, which is characterized by a focus on the text structure of points of view. Uspenskij integrated the features of the two schools of western modern semiotics. On the one hand, he emphasized the integrity and systematieity of the artistic text structure. On the other hand, he gave prominence to the dynamics and openness of the symbol system. He studied semantics, syntax and pragmaties in artistic text from the angle of viewpoint by applying Morris's classification of symbols. But Uspenskij's theory of structural poetics centers on the synchronic aspects of the structure of points of view at the expense of its diachronic dimensions, thus ignoring the influence of time on readers and the role readers play in constructing the text structure of points of view. Objective: To investigate the diversity and clinical effect of supraclavicular island flap in repairing the defect after head and neck tumor surgery. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 30 patients who received the repair of head and neck defects with supraclavicular island flaps at Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2017 to March 2023. The sites and types of defects, intraoperative blood loss, time of flaps preparation, areas of flaps, survival of the flaps and other complications were recorded. Results: A total of 30 patients were enrolled, including 26 males and 4 females, aged 36-82 years. Among them, 22 patients with hypopharyngeal partial defect were repaired （19 patients with ipsilateral defect and 3 patients with contralateral defect）. In addition, 2 patients were repaired with contralateral pectoralis major musculocutaneous flap around the hypopharynx, the neck skin defect was repaired in 2 patients, the parotid skin defect was repaired in 2 patients, the temporal bone skin defect was repaired in 1 patient, and the cervical esophageal defect was repaired in 1 patient. The average blood loss during the operation was 8 ml, and the average time was 32 min. The flap areas ranged from 5.0 cm×4.0 cm to 20.0 cm×8.0 cm. 27 of 30 flaps survived（90.0%）, and pharyngeal fistula occurred in 6 patients after operation（4 flaps survived after local dressing）. One patient was complicated with venous thrombosis（the flap necrosis after local dressing）. Shoulder and neck functions（lift, internal rotation and abduction） were not significantly affected in 29 patients, and the function of 1 patient with shoulder infection was not affected after treatment. Conclusion: Supraclavicular island flap is a highly vascularized axial fascial flap. It is easy to make, thin, and soft in texture, and can be used to repair different sites and types of postoperative head and neck tumor defects with a low donor site complication rate. This study aims to investigate the effect and mechanism of saikosaponin D on the proliferation, apoptosis, and autophagy of pancreatic cancer Panc-1 cells. The cell counting kit(CCK-8) was used to examine the effects of 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, and 28 μmol·L~(-1) saikosaponin D on the proliferation of Panc-1 cells. Three groups including the control(0 μmol·L~(-1)), low-concentration(10 μmol·L~(-1)) saikosaponin D, and high-concentration(16 μmol·L~(-1)) saikosaponin D groups were designed. The colony formation assay was employed to measure the effect of saikosaponin D on the colony formation rate of Panc-1 cells. The cells treated with saikosaponin D were stained with hematoxylin-eosin(HE), and the changes of cell morphology were observed. Hoechst 33258 fluorescent staining was used to detect the effect of saikosaponin D on the cell apoptosis. The autophagy staining assay kit with MDC was used to examine the effect of saikosaponin D on the autophagy of Panc-1 cells. Western blot and immunocytochemistry(ICC) were employed to examine the effect of saikosaponin D on the expression levels and distribution of B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2), Bcl-2-associated X protein(Bax), cysteine-aspartic acid protease-3(caspase-3), cleaved caspase-3, autophagy-associated protein Beclin1, microtubule-associated protein light chain 3(LC3), protein kinase B(Akt), phosphorylated protein kinase B(p-Akt), mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR), and phosphorylated mammalian target of rapamycin(p-mTOR). The results showed that compared with the control group, saikosaponin D decreased the proliferation rate of Panc-1 cells in a dose-dependent and time-dependent manner. The colony formation rate of the cells significantly decreased after saikosaponin D treatment. Compared with the control group, the cells treated with saikosaponin D became small, accompanied by the formation of apoptotic bodies. The saikosaponin D groups showed increased apoptosis rate and autophagic vesicle accumulation. Compared with the control group, saikosaponin D up-regulated the expression of Bax, cleaved caspase3, Beclin1, LC3Ⅱ/LC3Ⅰ and down-regulated the expression of Bcl-2, caspase-3, p-Akt/Akt, and p-mTOR/mTOR. In addition, these proteins mainly existed in the cytoplasm. In conclusion, saikosaponin D can inhibit the proliferation and induce the apoptosis and autophagy of Panc-1 cells via inhibiting the Akt/mTOR pathway.

This study aims to investigate the detoxification effects of different processing methods on the cardiotoxicity induced by radix Tripterygium wilfordii, and preliminarily explore the detoxification mechanism via the nuclear factor E2-related factor 2(Nrf2)/heme oxygenase 1(HO-1) pathway. The raw and processed products [stir-fried product, product stir-fried with Lysimachiae Herba(JQC), product stir-fried with Phaseoli Radiati Semen(LD), product stir-fried with Paeoniae Radix Alba(BS), product stir-fried with Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma(GC), and product stir-fried with vinegar(CZ)] of radix T. wilfordii were administrated to mice by gavage at a dose of 2 g·kg~(-1)(based on crude drugs) for 28 days. Twenty-four hours after the last administration, we measured the serum biochemical indexes of mice to evaluate the detoxification effect. Furthermore, we determined the expression of key proteins of Nrf2/HO-1 pathway in mouse heart tissue by Western blot and some oxidation/antioxidation-related indexes by corresponding kits to explore the detoxification mechanism. The administration of the raw product elevated the levels of serum creatine kinase, lactate dehydrogenase, and malondialdehyde, a product of cardiac lipid peroxidation(P<0.01), down-regulated the protein levels of Nrf2 and HO-1(P<0.01), and reduced the levels of total superoxide dismutase, glutathione, glutathione peroxidase, and glutathione S-transferase(P<0.01). However, after the administration of the products stir-fried with JQC, LD, BS, GC, and CZ, the abnormalities of the above indexes induced by the raw product were recovered(P<0.05 or P<0.01). In particular, the product stir-fried with JQC showed the best performance. Taken all together, the cardiotoxicity induced by radix T. wilfordii could be attenuated by stir-frying with JQC, LD, BS, GC, and CZ, and the stir-frying with JQC showed the best detoxification effect. The mechanism might be associated with the cardiac antioxidant defense and oxidative damage mitigation mediated by the up-regulated Nrf2.

In this study, the evidence mapping methodology was used to systematically retrieve and sort out the clinical research evidence of Chinese patent medicines in the treatment of tension-type headache(TTH), and to understand the distribution of evidence in this field and the basis and quality of evidence. Chinese and English articles on the 28 Chinese patent medicines for TTH, which were recorded in National Essential Medicines List(2018), Medicine Catalogue for National Basic Medical Insurance, Work Injury Insurance, and Maternity Insurance(2020), and Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020), were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Wanfang, VIP, China Biology Medicine disc(CBMdisc), PubMed, EMbase, and Cochrane Library from the establishment to June 2021, followed by descriptive analysis. Then, tables and bubble charts were plotted to analyze the distribution characteristics of evidence. A total of 129 eligible articles were yielded: 126 randomized/non-randomized controlled trials, and 3 systematic reviews. The functions, indications, and composition of the 28 medicines, as well as the proportion of related articles, publication trends, intervention measures, and outcome indicators were compared and analyzed. The results showed that the 28 Chinese patent medicines, composed of 128 Chinese medicinals, can be classified into six categories in terms of function: reinforcing healthy Qi, tranquilizing mind, dispelling stasis, regulating Qi, treating wind, and resuscitating. There are ongoing efforts to study the treatment of TTH with Chinese patent medicine in China, despite of little evidence. The clinical positioning of Chinese patent medicine for TTH is not clear, and clinical research fails to highlight the advantages of Chinese medicine. In addition, the outcome indicators have not been standardized and unified, and there is a lack of evidence on the long-term efficacy of Chinese patent medicine for TTH. This study is the first exploratory application of evidence maps to compare the characteristics and clinical research progress of 28 Chinese patent medicines for TTH, which can provide a reference for research on the optimization of Chinese medicine strategies for TTH.

On the basis of the previous work of the research group, the orthogonal design method was further used to optimize the processing technology for reducing toxicity of fried Tripterygium wilfordii in Lysimachia christinae Decoction. A total of 9 processed products of T.wilfordii in L.christinae decoction were prepared by four factors and three levels orthogonal design table. The contents of triptolide in T.wilfordii were determined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) before and after processing: 4.27, 3.92, 3.57, 2.75, 2.42, 2.66, 3.51, 1.87, 1.75, 2.03 μg·g~(-1). On this basis, the above processed products were orally given to mice for 28 days. 12 hours after the last administration, food fasting except water was provided, and 24 hours later, the eyeballs were taken for blood and liver tissue. Serum biochemical indexes, liver lipid peroxidation and antioxidant related indexes were detected by kit method. Twenty-eight days after oral administration of raw T.wilfordii, the levels of serum alanine aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), alkaline phosphatase(ALP) and liver malondialdehyde(MDA) in mice increased by 91%(P<0.01), 46%(P<0.05), 73%(P<0.01) and 99%(P<0.01), while the liver antioxidant indexes such as superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione(GSH), glutathione peroxidase(GPX) and glutathione-S transferase(GST) significantly decreased(P<0.01). After administration of the processed products, the above indexes were significantly reversed(P<0.01 or P<0.05). Especially, the processing conditions of A_3B_2C_1D_3 had the best detoxification effect on T.wilfordii, which decreased the high levels of AST, ALT, ALP and MDA by 49%(P<0.01), 32%(P<0.01), 42%(P<0.01), and 17%(P<0.05). Therefore, the best processing conditions for T.wilfordii in L.christinae decoction were A_3B_2C_1D_3, namely "15% mass fraction of L.christinae, 1 h moistening time, 160 ℃ frying temperature, and 9 min frying time".

Objective: To compare the clinical outcomes of hydraulic perfusion pump and traditional water fhushing in percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy., Methods: From January 2016 to December 2018, 72 patients with lumbar disc herniation failed to conservative treatment were enrolled in this study. The patients were divided into hydraulic perfusion pump group and traditional water flushing group, 36 cases in each group. There were no significant differences in gender, age, prominent segment, clinical classification, preoperative visual analogue scale (VAS) and Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA) score between two groups ( P >0.05). All operations were performed by the same surgeon, and the operations were completed by hydraulic perfusion pumpflushing or traditional water flushing assisted surgery. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, hospital stay were recorded;VAS and JOA scores were observed before and after operation;the incidences of postoperative complications were compared between two groups., Results: All the patients were followed up for 12 to 24 (15.7±5.1) months. Compared with the traditional water flushing group, the operation time of the hydraulic perfusion pump group was shorter [(65.5±21.3) min vs (74.8±19.9) min, t =9.465, P =0.003], and intraoperative blood loss was less [(21.2±12.9)ml vs (27.4± 14.1) ml, t =8.331, P =0.012], there was no statistical difference in hospital stay between two groups. Postoperative VAS scores at 1 day, 2 weeks and the final follow-up and postoperative JOA scores at the final follow-up of the two groups of patients improved compared with those before operation, but there was no significant difference between two groups ( P >0.05). In the traditional water flushing group, the intracranial hypertensionoccurred during operation and the operation time was forced to shorten in 5 cases, the nerve root adventitia injury in 4 cases, and the postoperative recurrence in 4 cases. No intracranial hypertension during operation was found in the hydraulic perfusion pump group, nerve root adventitia injury occurred in 1 case, postoperative recurrence in 2 cases. The incidence of complication of the hydraulic perfusion pump group was lower than that ofthe traditional water flushing group., Conclusion: Both hydraulic perfusion pump and traditional water flushing assisted percutaneous endoscopic lumbar disc herniation can achieve satisfactory clinical results, but the former has shorter operation time, clearer intraoperative vision, less bleeding, and fewer intraoperative and postoperative complications.

Anoectochilus roxburghii is a traditional Chinese medicine and natural health products. In the modern cultivation system, A. roxburghii is micropropagated in tissue culture, and the plants are transferred to soil cultivation for months. However, it remains unclear about the necessity of soil cultivation for the accumulation of health beneficial compounds. In this paper, we performed nontargeted metabolomic analysis using GC-TOF-MS and UPLC-Q-TOF-MS, on A. roxburghii plants at tissue culture stage or after 3 months of soil cultivation. The results showed that the primary metabolites such as alcohols and organic acids are abundant in the tissue culture plants. In contrast, polysaccharide, nucleoside, esters and secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, terpenoids were significantly accumulated in cultivated seedlings. Flavonoids and polysaccharides are considered as the principle effective components in A. roxburghii. Halon-1301 (CF3Br) can make Br radicals with UV radiation, which poses a great threat to the ozone layer in the atmosphere. Necessary methods should be taken for the degradation of the exhausts of Halon-1301. In this paper, density functional (DFT) theory at B3LYP/6-311G++(d,p) level are employed for the study of dissociation properties and spectra of Halon-1301 in external electric field, including bond length, total energy, HOMO-LUMO energy gap, infrared spectra and dissociation potential energy surface (PES). The obtained results show that, with gradually increasing the external field from 0 to 0.03 a.u. along the molecular axis Z (C—Br bond direction), the total energy decreases, while the dipole moment decreases at the beginning and then increases. With the climbing of the field, HOMO-LUMO energy gap increases, and C—Br bond length increases while C—F bond length decreases. The variations of vibrational frequency and intensity of molecular IR spectra in external electric field are also investigated. Further studies show that with increasing the external electric field from 0 to 0.03 a.u., the dissociation PES along C—Br bond becomes unbound with disappearing of the barrier for the dissociation. The external electric field of 0.03 a.u. is sufficient to induce the degradation of CF3Br with C—Br bond breaking. Such results provide an important reference for the degradation of Halons via the external electric field.

Objective: To deepen the understanding of clinical manifestations and treatment of patients with positive lupus anticoagulant (LAC)., Methods: The clinical data of 2 patients were analyzed and related literature were reviewed., Results: Case 1, a 31-year-old female, diagnosed as lupus anticoagulant positive, secondary to undifferentiated connective tissue disease, was presented with menorrhagia and thrombocytopenia. Anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) was positive 1:1000 (homogeneous type) with anti-double stranded DNA positive, and dRVVT LA1/LA2 was 3.4. Coagulation function was alleviated after treatment with glucocorticoid and total glucosides of paeony. Case 2, a 59-year-old female was presented with gingival bleeding, hematuria with the level of F II:C 13%. dRVVT LA1/LA2 was 2.0. Anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) was positive 1:1000 (type of cytoplasmic granule), anti-double stranded DNA was positive. The patient was diagnosed as hypoprothrombinemia-lupus anticoagulant syndrome (LAHS) and acquired coagulation factor deficiency. The signs of hemorrhage were alleviated after treatment with methylprednisolone 40 mg/day and cyclophosphamide, while the level of F II:C was below normal., Conclusion: Symptoms of patients with positive LAC are variable. The diagnosis relies on history of disease and laboratory test. Currently, there is no standardized treatment. Cases of LAHS should be thoroughly investigated for any known causes and related disorder.

Objective: To observe the influences of Panax notoginsenosid(a compound of Chinese Traditional Medicine) on the spontaneous contraction of small intestine smooth muscle of rabbits in vitro and explore the mechanism., Methods: The influences of Panax notoginsenosid on the spontaneous contraction of small intestine in intacted rabbits(male or female) after the isothermal perfuse of small intestine in vitro were observed. Bay K8644 and nitro-L-arginine methylester (L-NAME) were added to the normal Tyrode's solution respectively before Panax notoginsenosid. In the Ca2+ free Tyrode's solution, rynodine was added before Panax notoginsenosid. The mechanism of Panax notoginsenosid was studied., Results: Panax notoginsenosid reduced the amplitude of contraction of small intestine smooth muscle in rabbits in a does-depended manner. Bay K8644 and L-NAME could completely block the inhibition of Panax notoginsenosid on the contraction of small intestine smooth muscle. Panax notoginsenosid inhibited significantly the intracellular calcium-depended contraction induced by rynodine in the Ca2+ free Tyrode's solution., Conclusion: Panax notoginsenosid inhibits significantly the contraction of small intestine smooth muscle of rabbits in vitro. The mechanism may be related to increase NO concentration in small intestine smooth muscle so that inhibit extracellular Ca2+ inflowing via cell membrane and intracellular Ca2+ releasing via sarcoplasmic reticulum.

Objective: To analyze the prognosis of uncomplicated crown fractures and the related factors., Methods: Clinical data of uncomplicated crown fractures treated in Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Peking University School of Stomatology from 2000 to 2006 were collected, and the follow-up period was not shorter than six months. The following information was recorded, including patients' age and gender, type of injury, with or without luxation injury, location of injured tooth, stage of root development, time elapsed between the injury and the first dental care, emergency treatment or not, pulp healing. Logistic regression was used for statistical analysis., Results: The study comprised of 307 patients with 415 uncomplicated crown-fracture teeth. The frequency of pulp necrosis was significantly higher in crown-fracture teeth with luxation injuries (34.0%) than in crown-fracture teeth without luxation injuries (22.7%) (P < 0.05). Age of patients and type of injury were significantly related to pulp prognosis in crown-fracture teeth without luxation injuries. While stage of root development and type of injury were significantly related to pulp prognosis in crown-fracture teeth with luxation injuries., Conclusion: Luxation injuries was significantly related to the prognosis of uncomplicated crown-fracture teeth.

Objective: To evaluate the prognosis of luxated permanent teeth and analyze the associated factors of pulp healing after luxation injuries., Methods: The dental records of patients presented for treatment due to luxation injuries at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology from January 2000 to December 2006 were collected, and the follow-up period was not shorter than six months. The following information was recorded, age and gender; type of injury; location of injured tooth; stage of root development; time elapsed between the injury and the first dental care; emergency treatment or not; pulp healing. Logistic regression was used to compare qualitative data and determine the associated factors of pulp healing after luxation injuries., Results: The study was comprised of 157 patients with 238 luxated permanent teeth. The frequency of pulp necrosis was 16.0%, dental pulp calcification 2.1% and pulp survival 81.9%. The frequency of pulp necrosis was highest in intrusion (66.7%). The factors significantly affecting pulp healing were stage of root development and type of injury., Conclusions: The risk of pulp necrosis was greatest in intrusion. The stage of root development and the type of injury were significant factors related to pulp healing after luxation injuries.
