Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursors with different orientation behaviors were prepared by changing the coagulation bath conditions such as concentration and temperature. The orientation structure of the PAN precursor was determined by the method of sound velocity. X-ray diffraction and optical microscopy were used to investigate the crystalline structure and morphological characterization of nascent fiber, and the correlation between orientation of precursor and structure of nascent fiber was established. The molecular chain orientation ability “a” was defined as the slope of the logarithmic fitting curve of the degree of orientation varying with the drafting ratio, and the relationship between “a” and the crystallinity of nascent fiber was studied. The results show that the higher crystallinity nascent fiber has, the lower drawing ability PAN precursor has, and the higher degree of orientation has under the same drafting ratios. The maximum drafting factor of polyacrylonitrile precursor is significantly affected by radial structure of nascent fiber, it reaches the local maximum when the coagulation bath concentration is 74%. The fiber with high solvent content has higher molecular chain orientation ability than the fiber with low solvent content. The molecular chain orientation ability of precursor increases with the crystallinity of nascent fiber.

[Objective] The study aims to reveal the pollination Ottelia acuminata and O. acuminata var. crispa, elucidate the factors affecting successful pollination, and provide theoretical and technical guidance for hybrid breeding between the two species. [Methods] Using O. acuminata and O. acuminata var. crispa as subjects, by observing their flowering dynamics, insect visitation behaviors, and measuring pollen viability, stigma receptivity, and hybrid compatibility index, the study investigated their pollination characteristics and hybrid compatibility. [Results] The flowering dynamics of O. acuminata and O. acuminata var. crispa were fundamentally similar, with each flower lasting 7-11 h. The main pollinating insects include Episyrphus balteatus and Apis cerana. The vitality of the pollen and the receptivity of the stigma both showed an initial increase followed by a decrease. The peak pollen viabilities for O. acuminata and O. acuminata var. crispa were 88.27% and 88.34%, respectively, and the stigmas were all the highest at anthesis Ⅱ. The fruit set rates for direct and reciprocal crosses were 85.71% and 91.33%, respectively, with hybrid compatibility indices both greater than 53. The average number of seeds per fruit for self-pollination were 54 and 69, respectively, and for direct and reciprocal crosses, 73 and 71, respectively. The seed germination rates for self-pollination were 71.7% and 27.3%, respectively, and for direct and reciprocal crosses, 22.6% and 19.7%, respectively. [Conclusion] The flowering dynamics of O. acuminata and O. acuminata var. crispa are fundamentally similar, with each having a short flowering period. There are fewer types of pollinating insects, which affects sexual reproduction, yet there is no significant evidence of hybrid incompatibility.

Objective: To explore the preventive effect of Lactobacillus paracasei FZU103 (LP-FZU103) on alcoholic liver injury (ALI). Methods: Altogether 36 specific pathogen free- (SPF-) grade ICR mice were randomly divided into three groups: control, model and experimental (LP-FZU103 intervention). After the six-week experiment, body mass, organ coefficients, serum and liver biochemical indexes, liver histopathology and inflammatory cytokines, the transcription of liver function-related genes and intestinal flora composition were measured. Results: Compared with the model group, intervention of LP-FZU103 improved the organ coefficients and pathological liver damage in ALI mice, significantly reduced the levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) as well as the activity of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in the serum, increased the serum concentration of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), significantly increased the activity of catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the content of glutathione (GSH) in the liver, and decreased MDA content and interleukin-6 (IL-6), interferon-γ (IFN-γ) levels in the liver. Moreover, LP-FZU103 intervention significantly up-regulated the mRNA expression level of the lipid metabolism-related gene Ldlr and down-regulated the mRNA expression level of Acc1, Hmgcr and Cd36 as well as increased the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus johnsonii, Lactobacillus reuteri and Lactobacillus paracasei in the gut of mice. Conclusion: LP-FZU103 intervention can prevent and control the occurrence of alcoholic liver injury in mice, which is closely related to the improved intestinal flora and liver metabolic function.

Dissolved organic matter (DOM), the most active type of soil organic matter, plays a key role in soil biogeochemical cycling. Therefore, exploring the source, composition, environmental response, and accumulation mechanism of DOM during vegetation succession has great significance for predicting soil carbon cycling. In this study, DOM was extracted from topsoil and subsoil at plots after 12, 30, 40, 50, 80, and 120 years of primary succession along the Hailuogou Glacier retreat area. The concentrations and spectral characteristics of DOM were analyzed via a combination of elemental analysis, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, and three-dimensional fluorescence excitation-emission matrix spectroscopy. The results showed that concentrations of soil dissolved organic carbon and dissolved organic nitrogen of both topsoil and subsoil increased significantly during vegetation succession. Along the chronosequence, the protein-like components and optical indices were significantly enhanced, humic-like components and the optical indices decreased, the aromaticity degree of DOM increased first and then decreased. Soil pH and NH4+-N content explained 62.2% of the total variation of surface soil DOM components, while soil moisture and pH explained 64.3% of that of subsurface soil DOM, indicating that environmental conditions were key factors affecting the concentrations and composition of soil DOM in the Hailuogou Glacier retreat area. The aroma components of white tea from the new tea strain ‘Baiyun 0492’ (also known as Baiyun Tezaocha) and ‘Fuyun 6’ as a control were analyzed and compared by headspace solid-phase microextraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) in an effort to identify the characteristic aroma components of ‘Baiyun 0492’ white tea. A total of 928 aroma compounds were detected in six white tea samples (of three different grades for each type), and nonyl acetate, contributing to floral and fruity aromas, might be an aroma compound unique to ‘Baiyun 0492’ tea. The results of relative odor activity value (ROAV) analysis showed that β-ionone, linalyl acetate, linalool, (Z)-decan-2-enal, damascenone, neral and citral were the key aroma components in both white teas. Based on orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA), the contents of linalool, methyl benzoate, hotrienol, nonyl acetate, 3,7-dimethy-6-actenoic acid and geranyl formate in ‘Baiyun 0492’ tea were significantly higher than those in ‘Fuyun 6’ tea (variable important in the projection (VIP) >1, P < 0.05). Linalsol and methyl benzoate were important aroma compounds of ‘Baiyun 0492’ white tea, responsible for pekoe-like, fruity and floral aromas. This study is helpful for a comprehensive understanding of the aroma characteristics of ‘Baiyun 0492’ white tea, and provides a scientific basis for the research and development of ‘Baiyun 0492’ white tea products with distinctive personality.

Circular RNA (circRNA) is involved in tumor progression. CircPVT1 is an oncogene that is abnormally expressed and correlated with a variety of tumors. It can regulate tumors' malignant behavior and affect the survival and prognosis of patients. This article reviews research on the regulatory roles of circPVT1 in tumors to provide references for accurate treatment.

Under the guidance of China′s ecological civilization policy, while the utilization of industrial water has been improved, the total wastewater discharge still cannot be neglected. Therefore, zero liquid discharge (ZLD) of industrial wastewater has been highlighted as an essential path to realize the utilization of waste. However, waste salt and high-concentration brine are generated during the zero liquid discharge process. The disposal of waste salt is challenging in China, and there is little progress in its utilization, which has become one of the bottlenecks restricting the ZLD process. Compared with the conventional process employing pure salt, the ionic membrane-based Chlor-alkali system using industrial waste salt would be influenced by the presence of impurity components in the feed, which may lead to new challenges such as membrane fouling. To address the limitations, this review paper will introduce the principle and process of recycling waste salt in the ionic membrane-based Chlor-alkali industry, discuss the process mechanism and characterization methods of membrane fouling caused by anions/cations and dissolved organic matter, put forward reasonable countermeasures such as feed control, membrane cleaning and process optimization, and explore future research prospects on adjustment of the feed water quality and the development of high-performance cation exchange membranes. This review aims to promote the development and application of waste salt recycling technology in the process of zero liquid discharge of industrial wastewater.

To help to bring about “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”， the traditional power system with fossil energy as its mainstay will be transformed into a new power system dominated by new energy. Zhejiang province， against such a background， has seen rapid growth in the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation. Due to the randomness and fluctuation of photovoltaic power generation， high-proportion photovoltaic power has imposed new impact and challenges on the dispatch and operation of power system. Therefore， based on the existing research on the impact of photovoltaic power generation integration on power system， this paper summarizes and analyzes the impact of photovoltaic power generation on the balance of power generation and consumption in Zhejiang power grid， and the countermeasures as well. First， based on the characteristics of Zhejiang power grid， this paper analyzes the impact of high-proportion photovoltaic power integration on Zhejiang power grid from three aspects： typical load curve， power supply， and photovoltaic power generation support. Then， on the basis of the known impact， the relevant challenges are summarized on the short-term and medium and long-term time scales. Finally， a solution that can adapt to the effective consumption of photovoltaics and ensure the balance of the power system with the integration of high-proportion photovoltaic power in the future is proposed.

To solve the problems of low efficiency and more redundant messages in unstructured P2P network resources search, this paper proposed an ant colony optimization based on interest factor(IACO). It gave full consideration to the effects of node value of resources search. It introduced node interest factor into traditional ant colony algorithm to adjust the weight relationship of node value and pheromones dynamically in the forward probability calculation, and effectively guided the generation of resources query path. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the success significantly rate and to a certain extent can reduce the amount of redundant messages in the network at the same time. A fixed structure and multi-population GEP algorithm(FSMGEP) was proposed based on the traditional gene expression programming (GEP) theory. The linear string structure with fixed length was used in the description of the individual, which decreased the computation complexity. The collaborative evolutionary thought of multi-population was introduced in the FSMGEP to improve the diversity of the individuals. And the hillclimbing algorithm was utilized to optimize the parameters, which improved the accuracy and efficiency of the FSMGEP. The light interference methane detector has many advantages, such as high stability, wide measurement range, etc. However, the artificial reading and low level of automation make it no communication ability with monitoring system. To solve this problem,the authors made an improvement based on the measurement of interferogram intensity. The optical configuration was modified to guarantee the one-to-one relationship between the intensity of interferogram and the methane volume fraction. The authors used photoelectric elements to capture the interferogram and calculated the methane volume fraction with the variation of interferogram intensity. Given that the zero-drift error was affected by environmental factors, the authors modeled the relationship between pressure and measurement error by theoretical analysis, which was used to compensate the measurement error. Then the relationship between temperature and measurement error was experimentally determined. The authors thus obtained the temperature compensation model by linear interpolation. The effectiveness of compensation models and the stability of designed system were verified by accuracy test, pneumatic test, temperature test and long-term stability test. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second most common cancer worldwide and the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths in men. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), with its high sensitivity and specificity in detecting PCa, is currently the most widely used imaging technique for tumor localization and staging. MRI plays a significant role in risk stratification of patients with neoplasm, surveillance of low-risk patients, and monitoring of recurrence after treatment. Radiomics is an emerging and promising tool that allows quantitative assessment of tumors in images by converting digital images into mineable high-dimensional data. Imaging histology aims to increase the number of features that can be used to detect PCa, avoid unnecessary biopsies, determine tumor aggressiveness and monitor recurrence after treatment. Artificial intelligence integration of imaging histology data, including those of different imaging modalities (e.g., PET-CT) as well as other clinical and histopathological data, can improve the prediction of tumor aggressiveness and guide clinical decision-making and patient management. The aim of this review is to present current research applications of AI-assisted radiomics in PCa MRI images.

Hard capsules of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) have different degrees of hygroscopicity, which affects the stability and efficacy of drugs. In this paper, 30 kinds of commercially available TCM capsules were used as the research object. The hygroscopicity curves of capsule contents, capsule shells, and capsules were tested respectively, and the first-order kinetic equation was used for fitting. The results show that during the 24 h hygroscopicity process, the capsule shell can reduce the weight gain caused by the hygroscopicity of the contents by 0.80%-53.0% and the hygroscopicity rate of the capsule contents by 1.74%-91.3%, indicating that the capsule shell has a strong delay effect on the hygroscopicity of the contents of the TCM capsules. Seven physical parameters of the contents of 30 kinds of TCM capsules were determined, and 14 prescription process-related parameters were sorted out. A partial least squares model for predicting the hygroscopicity rate of the contents of TCM capsules(with shell) for 24 h was established. It is found that the hygroscopicity rate of the capsule shell is positively correlated with the hygroscopicity of the contents of TCM capsules(with shell), suggesting that the capsule shell with a low hygroscopicity rate is helpful for moisture prevention. In addition, the pre-treatment process route of the preparation and the type of molding raw materials affect the hygroscopicity. A larger proportion of the extract in the capsule content and a smaller proportion of the fine powder of the decoction pieces indicate stronger hygroscopicity of the capsule content. The 24 h hygroscopicity rate of 15% was used as the classification node of hygroscopicity strength, and the hygroscopicity rate constant of 0.58 was used as the classification node of hygroscopicity speed. The classification system of hygroscopicity behaviors of TCM capsules was established: the varieties with strong and fast hygroscopicity accounted for about 6.67%, while those with strong and slow hygroscopicity accounted for about 33.3%; the varieties with weak and fast hygroscopicity accounted for about 26.7%, while those with weak and slow hygroscopicity accounted for about 33.3%. The classification system is helpful to quantify and compare the hygroscopicity behavior of different TCM capsules and provides a reference for the quality improvement, moisture prevention technologies, and material research of TCM capsules.

In the new stage for intelligent manufacturing of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) from pilot demonstration to in-depth application and comprehensive promotion, how to raise the degree of intelligence for the process quality control system has become the bottleneck of the development of TCM production process control technology. This article has sorted out 226 TCM intelligent manufacturing projects that have been approved by the national and provincial governments since the implementation of the &quot;Made in China 2025&quot; plan and 145 related pharmaceutical enterprises. Then, the patents applied by these pharmaceutical enterprises were thoroughly retrieved, and 135 patents in terms of intelligent quality control technology in the production process were found. The technical details about intelligent quality control at both the unit levels such as cultivation, processing of crude herbs, preparation pretreatment, pharmaceutical preparations, and the production workshop level were reviewed from three aspects, i.e., intelligent quality sensing, intelligent process cognition, and intelligent process control. The results showed that intelligent quality control technologies have been preliminarily applied to the whole process of TCM production. The intelligence control of the extraction and concentration processes and the intelligent sensing of critical quality attributes are currently the focus of pharmaceutical enterprises. However, there is a lack of process cognitive patent technology for the TCM manufacturing process, which fails to meet the requirements of closed-loop integration of intelligent sensing and intelligent control technologies. It is suggested that in the future, with the help of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods, the process cognitive bottleneck of TCM production can be overcome, and the holistic quality formation mechanisms of TCM products can be elucidated. Moreover, key technologies for system integration and intelligent equipment are expected to be innovated and accelerated to enhance the quality uniformity and manufacturing reliability of TCM.

In this paper, 50 batches of representative traditional Chinese medicine tablets were selected and the disintegration time was examined with the method in Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The disintegration time and disintegration phenomenon were recorded, and the dissolution behaviors of water-soluble and ultraviolet-absorbent components during the disintegration process of tablets were characterized by self-control method. The results revealed that coating type and raw material type influenced the disintegration time of tablets. It was found that only 4% of traditional Chinese medicine tablets had obvious fragmentation during the disintegration process, while 96% of traditional Chinese medicine tablets showed gradual dissolution or dispersion. Furthermore, according to the disintegration speed, disintegration phenomenon, and whether the cumulative dissolution of measured components was &gt; 90% at complete disintegration, a disintegration behavior classification system(DBCS) was created for the regular-release traditional Chinese medicine tablets. As a result, the disintegration behaviors of 50 batches of traditional Chinese medicine tablets were classified into four categories, i.e. ⅠA&#95;2, ⅠB&#95;1, ⅡB&#95;1, and ⅡB&#95;2. traditional Chinese medicine tablets(Class I) with disintegration time ≤ 30 min were defined to be rapid in disintegration, which can be the objective of optimization or improvement of Chinese herbal extract(semi extract) tablets. Different drug release models were used to fit the dissolution curve of traditional Chinese medicine tablets with gradual dissolution or dispersion phenomenon(i.e. Type B tablets). The results showed that the dissolution curves of water-soluble components in the disintegration process conformed to the zero order kinetics and the Ritger-Peppas model. It could be inferred that the disintegration mechanisms of type B tablets were a combination of dissolution controlled and swelling controlled mechanisms. This study contributes to understanding the disintegration behavior of traditional Chinese medicine tablets, and provides a reference for the design and improvement of disintegration performance of traditional Chinese medicine tablets.

The pharmaceutical manufacturing model is gradually changing from intermittent manufacturing to continuous manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing. This paper briefly reviewed the supervision and research progress in continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing in China and abroad and described the definition and advantages of continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing. The continuous manufacturing of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) at the current stage was summarized in the following three terms: the enhancement of the continuity of intermittent manufacturing operations, the integration of continuous equipment to improve physical continuity between units, and the application of advanced process control strategies to improve process continuity. To achieve continuous manufacturing of TCM, the corresponding key technologies, such as material property characterization, process modeling and simulation, process analysis technology, and system integration, were analyzed from the process and equipment, respectively. It was proposed that the continuous manufacturing equipment system should have the characteristics of high speed, high response, and high reliability, &quot;three high(H~3)&quot; for short. Considering the characteristics and current situation of TCM manufacturing, based on the two dimensions of product quality control and production efficiency, a maturity assessment model for continuous manufacturing of TCM, consisting of operation continuity, equipment continuity, process continuity, and quality control continuity, was proposed to provide references for the application of continuous manufacturing technology for TCM. The implementation of continuous manufacturing or the application of key continuous manufacturing technologies in TCM can help to systematically integrate advanced pharmaceutical technology elements and promote the uniformity of TCM quality and the improvement of production efficiency.

Objective: To evaluate the biomechanical stability of elastic intramedullary nail in the treatment of pubic ramus fractures by finite element analysis, and to compare the stability of elastic intramedullary nail with cannulated screw intramedullary fixation., Methods: The CT data of the pelvis of a volunteer were selected, and the three-dimensional model of the pelvis was reconstructed by reverse engineering software and the fracture of the pubic ramus fractures was simulated by osteotomy. The hollow nail model, single elastic nail model and double elastic nailmodel were assembled with different implants respectively. The mesh division, material assignment loading and other steps were carried out in the ANSYS software, and then the calculation was submitted., Results: The overall displacement of the pelvis of the elastic nail model was smaller than that of the cannulated screw model, in which the double elastic nail model had the smallest overall displacement, but the cannulated screw model had the smallest plant displacement and the single elastic nail model had the largest plant displacement. Although the stress of cannulated screw was small, there was obvious stress concentration, the stress of elastic nail was large, but there was no obvious stress concentration, especially the stress distribution of double elastic nail was more uniform and the overall stress of pelvis was the smallest., Conclusion: All the three fixation methods can effectively improve the stability of the anterior ring of the pelvis. Among them, there is no significant difference in the overall biomechanical propertiesof hollow nail fixation and double elastic nail fixation, which is better than that of single elastic nail fixation. Elastic nail fixation has the advantages of minimally invasive surgery and good biomechanical stability, so it can be used as a better surgical method for the treatment of pubic ramus fractures.

Bryophyte plays an important role in nutrient enrichment and cycling in the forest ecosystems. The role of bryophyte in nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) cycles might be affected by forest regeneration and growth substrate. To understand the role of bryophyte in N and P cycling in the forest ecosystem, we measured the contents of N and P in the bryophytes that grew on different positions (gap center, gap edge, and closed canopy) and growth substrates (standing tree, fallen log, snag, large dead branch, stump and forest floor) in an alpine forest ecosystem. The results showed that the N content in the bryophyte on the forest floor was 3.12 mg·g -1 , which was significantly lower than those on other growth substrates. Although N content in the bryophyte on the snag reached up to 17.41 mg·g -1 , no significant differences of N contents in the bryophytes were observed among standing tree, fallen log, large dead branch and snag. The highest and lowest P contents was 1.09 mg·g -1 in the bryophyte on the forest floor and 0.61 mg·g -1 in the bryophytes on the snag, respectively. Furthermore, P content in the bryophyte on the forest floor was significantly higher than that on other growth substrates, but no significant differences of P contents in the bryophytes were detected among standing tree, fallen log, large dead branch and stump. The gap position significantly affected N and P contents in the bryophytes, with the N and P contents in the bryophytes on fallen log and large dead branch at gap center being significantly higher than those at the gap edge. The effects of coarse woody debris (CWD) on the N and P contents in the bryophyte depended on its types and decay classes, with their interaction having much stronger effects on N and P contents in the bryophytes. The N contents in the epiphytic bryophytes on fallen logs with V decay class were significantly higher than those with other decay classes. Similarly, the N contents in the epiphytic bryophytes on large dead branches with III decay class were significantly higher than those with other decay classes. Meanwhile, the P contents in the bryophytes on fallen logs with 2 decay class were significantly higher than those with other decay classes. Moreover, the P contents in the epiphytic bryophytes on the snags with 4 decay class were significantly higher than those with other decay classes. In conclusion, both forest gap regeneration and CWD decay process can affect the N and P contents in the bryophytes, and thereafter manipulate the nutrient cycles in the forest ecosystems.

Objective: To isolate and identify endophytic fungi from Brucea javanica, and to detect the antimicrobial activity of these strains., Methods: Endophytic fungi were isolated by tissue inoculation culture and identified by conventional morphological characteristic method. Seven kinds of pathogenic fungi and three kinds of bacteria were used as targeting microbes to test microbial inhibition activities by agar plate antagonistic action and modified agar gel diffusion methods, respectively., Results: A total of 83 endophytic fungi strains were isolated from the root, stem, leaf and fruit of Brucea javanica. 34 strains were obtained from the stem, 32 strains were obtained from the leaf, 15 strains were isolated from the root and 2 strains came from the fruit. These 73 strains which had been identified attribute to 5 orders, 6 families and 12 genera. For the isolated strains, 14 strains had antifungal activities against at least one pathogenic fungi, 9 strains showed antibacterial activities against one or more bacteria. Especially, the strain YJ-17 which belonged to Phomopsis genus showed the best inhibitory effect on the targeting microbes., Conclusion: The endophytic fungi from Brucea javanica show diversity and microbial inhibition activity, and are worthy for further study on plant disease controlling.

Objective: To study the qualitative and quantitative determination of Zhuang medicine Jasmini Sambacis Flos and establish its quality control standard., Methods: Macroscopic, microscopic and TLC identification were adopted to carry out the qualitative identification, the mensuration of inspection items and extractum were according to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The contents of quercetin and kaempferide in Jasmini Sambacis Flos were determined by HPLC., Results: The qualitative identification methods had strong specificity. In HPLC quantitative determination, the linear range of quercetin and kaempferide was in the range of 0.4008 - 3.2064 microg and 0.0403 - 3.2256 microg, respectively., Conclusion: These methods are simple, accurate and reproducible, and can be used to control the quality of Jasmini Sambacis Flos effectively.

Objective: To establish quality standard of Zhuang medicine Lonicera dasystyla, and provide scientific basis for the quality control of L. dasystyla., Method: Characteristics of materia medica, microscopic features, TLC indentification, inspection, extractum and determination of chlorogenic acid, macranthoidin B, dipsacoside B were carried out through the experience, microscopic, physical and chemical methods, respectively. The standard of quality control was formulated thereafter., Result: The characteristics of materia medica, microscopic features, TLC indentification were specified, the average contents of water, total ash, acid-insoluble ash, alcohol-soluble extracts, chlorogenic acid were 11.6%, 6.6%, 0.2% , 24.4%, 1.16%, respectively, the total amount of macranthoidin B and dipsacoside B was 3.13%. Quality standard of L. dasystyla was proposed according to experimental results., Conclusion: The quality of L. dasystyla can be controlled effectively with the quality standard.

Objective: To provide reference for identification and development of Basella rubra., Methods: Microscopic identification and UV spectrometry methods were used., Results: Obvious characteristics were found in the tissue structures of the roots, stems and leaves . And Basella rubra showed some UV spectrometry characteristics., Conclusion: The results can be used as the reference for analyzing the quality of the crude drug.

Objective: To understand the prevalence of depressive symptoms and associated sexual characteristics among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Foshan, Guangdong province., Methods: Respondent-driven sampling method was used to recruit MSM who were 18 years and older, living in Foshan longer than 6 months. Scales of depression, demographical information, and characteristics of sexual behaviors were collected using a self-designed questionnaire. Respondent-Driven Sampling Analysis Tool and SAS were used to generate crude and estimated population proportion as well as 95% confidence intervals (CI). Multivariate logistic regression was performed to explore potential factors associated with depressive symptoms., Results: Among 249 respondents, the mean age (standard deviation) was 31.9 (8.5) years, with 43.5% of them having had 7-9 years of education while 25.9% had 10-12 years. 49.7% of the respondents were currently married. 56.7% of them had bisexual orientation. 42.3% of them met their sex partners in parks/toilet and 63.3% of them had their first sex with a female. The estimated prevalence of depressive symptoms was 34.8% (28.2-42.3) among MSM in Foshan. Younger age, lower education levels, only had oral sex, and regularly meeting sexual partners in parks were associated with depressive symptoms, with the adjusted odd ratio (95%CI) as 3.31 (1.39-7.86), 2.23 (1.01-4.93), 3.09 (1.10-8.70) and 2.38 (1.20-4.75), respectively., Conclusion: Depression related symptoms might associate with the demographical and sexual characteristics of MSM in Foshan, suggesting that psychological interventions should involve components as demographical and sexual characteristics.

Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs) were measured in camphor bark samples from 40 locations in Suzhou, Nantong and Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. The samples were extracted by accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) and analyzed using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The 8 PBDEs were detected in all samples and the average concentrations of total PBDEs (BDE28, 47, 100, 99, 153, 154, 183, 209) was 835 microg/kg lipid weight (ranged from 112 to 7 460 microg/kg lipid weight). The BDE209 was the main homologues and accounted for 65.7% -99.6% of sigma 8 PBDEs. The predominant commercial products source for PBDEs in bark was Deca-BDE commercial products. Concentration of sigma 8 PBDEs detected in central district of Nantong were significantly higher than those in industrial park, suggesting the discharge of industrial point source might be the main source of PBDEs in this city. No significant difference was found between the levels of sigma 8 PBDEs in camphor bark collected from Suzhou and Wuxi. It can be concluded that the two cities are contaminated interactionally by PBDEs through atmospheric dispersion. The homologue and congener profiles of penta-BDEs for camphor bark were not consistent with commercial products, atmosphere and dust soil, which related with adsorption effect of tree bark and degradation effect of PBDEs.

Objective: To explore the diagnosis and management of short-term complications after pneumonectomy for pulmonary tuberculosis., Methods: The clinical data and management of short-term complications in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis after pneumonectomy were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed., Results: From September 2000 to September 2010, 206 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis underwent pneumonectomy, of whom 26 experienced complications shortly after the surgery. Postoperative acute type II respiratory failure occurred in 5 within 14 months post-operation, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in 2 within 3 months post-operation, chest hemorrhage in 7 within 20 days post-operation, empyema in 8 within 4 years post-operation, and bronchopleural fistula in 4 cases within 50 days post-operation. Of the 7 cases with chest hemorrhage, 2 were cured and 5 dead. All the 8 cases with empyema were cured. Of the patients with bronchopleural fistula, 2 were cured, 1 failed, and 1 was dead., Conclusions: Pneumonectomy for pulmonary tuberculosis carries a higher risk of developing serious complications such as chest hemorrhage, acute type II respiratory failure and bronchopleural fistula. Most complications can be managed successfully if diagnosed and treated early.

Objective: To study the subcellular localization of human endothelial-overexpressed lipopolysaccharide-associated factor 1 (EOLA1) protein in endothelial cells., Methods: Human umbilical vein endothelial cell strain ECV304 were cultured in vitro. The fusion protein of enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP)-EOLA1 expressing plasmid was constructed. Empty plasmid with EGFP at N side (pEGFP-N2) and fusion protein expressing plasmid EGFP-EOLA1 was respectively transfected into ECV304 cells with liposome. After being cultured for 48 hours, the expression levels of EGFP and fusion protein EGFP-EOLA1 in cells were detected with Western blot. The subcellular localization of EOLA1 protein was detected by laser scanning confocal microscope and immunoelectron microscopy., Results: The EGFP-EOLA1 coexpression plasmid was verified to be successfully constructed by enzyme cutting and gene sequencing. The fusion protein of EGFP-EOLA1 was observed to express in transfected cells through Western blot. Green fluorescence scattered all over the ECV304 cells transfected with empty plasmid and cells transfected with fusion protein expressing plasmid, and it gathered obviously in the nuclei in the latter cells. Immune deposits were observed in the matrix of cells transfected with fusion protein expressing plasmid but not in the cells transfected with empty plasmid., Conclusions: EOLA1 protein is localized in the nucleus and the matrix of ECV304 cell, and it plays its role as a signal transduction factor.

Objective: To investigate the method and effect of axial pattern myocutaneous flap in reconstructing breast by using color doppler flow imaging (CDFI) technique., Methods: Suitable axial myocutaneous flaps were selected according to the character of the focus in 26 cases of breast cancer after operation and radiotherapy. All the axial pattern myocutaneous flaps were designed on the basis of traditional design method before operation; then, CDFI with high resolution was used to examine the starting spot, exterior diameter, trail and length of the myocutaneous flaps' major artery. The myocutaneous flaps were redesigned according to the results of CDFI and transferred to reconstruct the breasts. The results of operation and examination were investigated., Results: According to the CDFI, only one thoracodorsal artery's blood current was slow, its wall was rough and presented with arteriosclerosis. The blood flow was fluent and the vessel wall was smooth with other supplying arteries in the flaps. And no embolism, sclerosis or absence of blood vessel was found. The starting spots, exterior diameters, trails and anatomic layers of the major supplying arteries of the flaps were displayed clearly with CDFI, in accordance with the results of operation. Twenty-one cases of latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap, 4 cases of the contralateral transverse abdominis myocutaneous flap and 1 cases of the bilateral transverse abdominis myocutaneous flap were used in this group. The flaps survived and healed well, the breasts were reconstructed well with perfect appearance, shape and sensation., Conclusions: CDFI is a simple, visualized and noninvasive method for designing the axial pattern myocutaneous flap in breast reconstruction, it can provide more scientific and accurate evidence for preoperative determination of myocutaneous flap transplantation.

Objective: To study the effect of inhibiting the expression of endothelial-overexpressed lipopolysaccharide-associated factor 1 (EOLA1) on proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cell line ECV304., Methods: After constructing and transfecting EGFP-EOLA1 fusion protein expressive vector into ECV304 cells, the transfected cells was cultured in M199 containing G418 for 5 weeks to screen the cell line stable expression EGFP-EOLA1 fusion protein. Oligonucleotides targeting EOLA1 at different sites were synthesized and inserted into pSinencer3.1/H1 vector. Then, the recombinant vector was transfected into the cultured ECV304 cells and the inhibiting effect to target gene EOLA1 was investigated by observing the green fluorescence in transfected cells under inverted fluorescent microscope and by Western blot assay. The proliferation of ECV304 cells was numbered when the expression of EOLA1 in ECV304 cells was inhibited by RNA interference., Results: The ECV304 cell line stably expressing EGFP-EOLA1 fusion protein was constructed and the siEOLA1 interfere vectors can knock down EOLA1 gene expression specially. When blocking the expression of EOLA1 in ECV304 cells,the proliferation of cells slowed down., Conclusion: EOLA1 maybe has a role on the proliferation of cells.

Objective: To amplify the full-length cDNA and characterize the structure and biological function of a novel expression sequence tag ST55 (GenBank Accession No. BM121646)., Methods: Rapid amplification of cDNA ends was used to clone the full-length of cDNA of ST55 in this study. Then, its tissue distribution was checked by Northern blots, and the associated protein was screened by GAL 4-based yeast two-hybrid. The effect of stable transfection of the cDNA on cell proliferation was evaluated in ECV304 cells., Results: A full-length 1404 bp cDNA was cloned, and it was accepted as a novel human mRNA by GenBank (No. AY074889), named endothelial-overexpressed lipopolysaccharide-associated factor 1 (EOLA1). Bioinformatic analysis found that the EOLA1 encoded 158 amino acids, 17.89 kDa protein, and mapped to chromosome Xq27.4 with 5 exons. EOLA1 expressed in different human normal tissues and cancer cell lines. Using the EOLA1 cDNA as bait, we performed a yeast two-hybrid screening of a human liver cDNA library and identified metallothionein 2A (MT2A) as associated protein. The interaction between EOLA1 and MT2A was confirmed by co-immunoprecipitation experiments. Stable transfection of EOLA1 was noted to stimulate ECV304 cell proliferation (P < 0.05)., Conclusion: The findings suggest that EOLA1 is a novel gene and the interaction of EOLA1 and MT2A may play an important role in cell protection in inflammation reaction.

Objective: To investigate the feasibility of obtaining of a highly pure protein of human endothelial overexpressed lipopolysaccharide-associated factor 1 (EOLA1) with metal chelation chromatography., Methods: Inclusion bodies of the E. coli transformed with EOLA1 gene were extracted and washed with BugBuster Protein Extraction Reagent. The primary purified products were purified by His. Bind Resin Chromatography under denaturing condition and dialyzed for renaturation, and then were analyzed with SDS-PAGE, Western blotting and peptide mass fingerprinting (PMF)., Results: EOLA1 was mainly expressed in E. coli as insoluble inclusion bodies. The protein content in the primary extracted inclusion bodies accounted for over 75%, and it accounted for more than 90% after chromatography and renaturation. It was indicated by PMF that the targeted protein peptide overlaid many of designed protein peptide., Conclusion: The method of EOLA1 protein purification and renaturation was convenient and efficient, and by this method sufficient amount of highly pure EOLA1 protein could be obtained for the preparation of EOLA1 monoclonal antibody and for the study of its gene function.

Objective: To design and construct the inducible expression vector of endothelial-overexpressed lipopolysaccharide-associated factor 1 (EOLA1), in order to establish EOLA1 compelling expression model, and to observe the effects of EOLA1 compelling expression on the proliferation of ECV304 cells., Methods: Inducible overexpression vector pOPRSV I-EOLA1 was constructed by amplifying the open reading fragment of EOLA1 and subcloning it into the Not I site and Xho I site of pOPRSV I vector. After sequencing, the pOPRSV I-EOLA1 recombinant vector and pCMVLac I vector were co-transfected into ECV304 cells. The cells resistant to G418 and hygromycin were screened by G418 and hygromycin, so that stable transfected cell strain was obtained. The growth curve of cells with or without isopropyl-beta-D-thiogalactoside (IPTG) induction were graphed with cell counting., Results: The inducible overexpressed EOLA1 vector was constructed successfully. The proliferation of the cells with EOLA1 compelling expression after induction of IPTG (44 +/- 17) x 10(4) was significantly higher than that without IPTG induction (27 +/- 11) x 10(4), (P < 0.01)., Conclusion: Compelling expression of EOLA1 protein can enhance the proliferation of ECV304 cell.

Objective: To investigate the effect of cilazapril on endothelial cell function and fibrinolysis system in the canine atrial fibrillation (AF) models., Methods: All canines were divided into three groups: (1) Control group, without atrial pacing; (2) Atrial pacing group, in which atrial fibrillation was established by rapid atrial pacing at 400 bpm for 6 weeks; (3) Atrial pacing together with cilazapril group, in which cilazapril was given before and after atrial pacing. Nitric oxide (NO) of atrial endocardium was measured with NO-specific microelectrode. The expression of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) and tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA) protein in atrium was determined by Western Blot analysis and immunohistochemical staining. Plasma levels of von Willebrand Factor (vWF), PAI-1 and tPA were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assay., Results: NO production from atrial endocardium was significantly increased in atrial pacing together with cilazapril group than atrial pacing group [(42.6 +/- 9.9) nmol/L vs (23.4 +/- 5.8) nmol/L, P < 0.05], whereas the plasma levels of vWF were decreased [(75.4 +/- 12.8)% vs (125.9 +/- 20.6)%, P < 0.05]. Compared to controls, the expression of atrium tPA protein in atrial pacing together with cilazapril group was significantly upregulated (4052 +/- 857 vs 1936 +/- 421, P < 0.05) and PAI-1 protein was downregulated (2487 +/- 542 vs 3164 +/- 827, P < 0.05). Cilazapril also significantly increased tPA antigen and decreased PAI-1 antigen in plasma., Conclusion: Cilazapril can favorably improve endothelial function and resume the balance of fibrinolysis system in AF, which might be of beneficial to hypercoagulated state in AF.

Objective: To investigate the changes in the bacterial ecology and to analyze the bacterial resistance to antibiotics in a burn ward in Nanning district during the past 15 years, so as to provide reference to the clinical management of burn infection under subtropical climate., Methods: Five thousand eight hundred and fifty-five strains of bacteria were isolated from the wounds and blood of 2269 burn patients admitted to our hospital from April of 1989 to March of 2004. Kiry-Bauer method was employed for the detection of antibiotic sensitivity test. The bacterial examination and bacterial resistance were analyzed in spans of every five years., Results: Burn patients in our district were mainly infected by the gram negative bacilli (3559 strains, accounting for 60.79%), among which Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter cloacae and Nitrate negative bacilli were major ones in every period. Gram positive cocci accounted for 33.99% (1990 strains), which ranked the second, among which Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Coagulase negative staphylococci (MRCNS) were the most predominant ones. The bacterial resistance to multiple antibiotics, such as Gentamicin, third generation of Cephalosporin, and Norfloxacin showed a tendency of increase or maintained at high level while the incidence of resistance to Imipenem and Vancomycin was very low., Conclusion: The climate and the way of using antibiotics exerted direct effects on the status of the bacterial ecology and change in bacterial resistance to various antibiotics.

Objective: To investigate superior vena cava (SVC) and anonymous vein resection with prosthesis replacement for lung carcinoma and mediastinal tumor, and to assess the surgical procedure and prognosis., Methods: Experimental research: Eighteen adult dogs were divided randomly into two groups. Group A (n = 9) underwent blocking of the SVC system, and Group B (n = 9) underwent SVC resection with prosthesis replacement. The SVC pressure and histological changes of brain tissue were measured and evaluated for group A. The histological changes of prosthesis were studied in group B. Clinical research: Fifty-six patients with thoracic neoplasm were studied, of which 42 were lung carcinoma and 14 were mediastinal tumor. Resection of primary lesions and metastatic lymph nodes with replacement of SVC system were performed for all patients. Long-term follow-up was performed., Results: Experimental research: In Group A, the pressure of SVC was higher when both SVC and the azygous vein were blocked as compared to SVC blocking only (P < 0.05); hyperemia and edema of brain tissue were not observed in two-hour obstruction. The inner face of vascular prosthesis was covered with fibrin two months after operation in group B. Vascular endothelial cells were found to grow in it, and there was no thrombosis without anticoagulation. Clinical research revealed that there was no death associated with the operation and there was no early or late obstruction of SVC. The survival rates of the patients with lung carcinoma in 1, 3 and 5 years were 84.2% 40.9% and 38.9% respectively. The patients with mediastinal tumor were all alive except 1 patient who died of metastasis., Conclusions: Radical resection combined with prosthesis replacement of SVC system extends the indications of thoracic neoplasm resection and improve the long-term survival rate and living qualities of the patients. It may be recommended in the surgical treatment of thoracic tumor.

Objective: To investigate the postburn dynamic changes in the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal hormones in severely burned patients., Methods: Fifty burn patients were enrolled in the study. The plasma contents of total GC (cortisol), ACTH and aldosterone (ALDO) and urinary contents of 17-OHO and 17-KS were determined with radio-immunological assay (RIA) method after burn injury to compare with the normal values which were well established clinically., Results: The postburn plasma and urinary contents of the above indices were increased evidently with two peak values in shock and infectious stages, whilst the majority of he indices were lower than the normal values after 6 postburn weeks (PBWs). The values of these hormones were the lowest in dying patients. On the other hand, the values approached normal levels in those patients whose burn wounds were healing., Conclusion: Increases of the plasma and urinary levels of hypothalamus-pituitary -adrenal hormones in severely burned patients were constantly seen. Burn shock and infection seemed to be the two major factors in inducing postburn stress reaction in burn victims. Abrupt decrease of the hormone levels in plasma and or urine indicated adrenal failure predicting a poor prognosis of the burn patients.
