The regulation of the cell cycle is essential for maintaining normal cellular function, especially in the development of diseases such as lung cancer. The cell cycle consists of four major phases (G1, S, G2 and M phases), which are characterized by a series of precise molecular events to ensure proper cell proliferation and division. In lung cancer cells, cell cycle dysregulation can lead to disordered proliferation and increased invasiveness of cancer cells. G2 and S-phase expressed 1 (GTSE1) is a regulatory protein found in the cytoplasm of the cell, which plays a key role in the cell cycle distribution of a wide range of cancer cells and is involved in life processes such as cell proliferation and apoptosis. GTSE1 affects cell cycle progression by interacting with cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1A (p21) and maintaining the stability of p21, which in turn inhibits the activity of cyclin-dependent kinase 1/2 (CDK1/2). In addition, GTSE1 is also involved in the regulation of tumor protein 53 (p53) signaling pathway. With the assistance of mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2), GTSE1 is able to transport p53 from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and promote its ubiquitination and degradation, thus affecting cell cycle and cell death-related signaling pathways. This paper reviews the expression of GTSE1 in lung cancer cells and its effects on lung cancer, as well as its potential mechanisms involved in cell cycle regulation.

To solve the problems of line overload tripping and cascading faults caused by power flow transfer in power systems， an optimal control strategy for grid overload considering energy storage and electrothermal characteristics of transmission lines is proposed. Firstly， the variation of electrothermal characteristics of transmission lines is analyzed. Based on meteorological data from various observation stations covered by transmission corridors in practical power grids， a method for calculating conductor temperatures considering meteorological distribution is formulated to enhance the accuracy of estimating line overload capacity. Furthermore， to minimize the control cost， an optimized control model incorporating energy storage for power system overload is established. The simulated annealing particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to solve the model， swiftly determining the optimal control and adjustment quantities and thereby fully leveraging the energy storage regulation capability and line overload tolerance capacity to effectively prevent cascading faults in the power grid. Finally， the effectiveness of the proposed control method is validated using the improved IEEE 39-node system.

Power flow solution of the system with a full-power converter may get lost during low-voltage ride-through （LVRT）. Therefore， the change law of grid equivalent parameters and power flow characteristics during the fault is analyzed， and the law of influence of different system variables on the existence of power flow solution is analyzed qualitatively by numerical calculation considering the control characteristics of the converter. Based on the variation law of the grid equivalent parameters and the real-time calculation of the determinant of the Jacobi matrix of power flow， an active current amplitude limiting and autoregulation method is proposed that only requires the non-fault grid equivalent parameters and the measured voltage at the grid-connected point. The simulation results show that the proposed method can ensure the existence of the power flow solution during LVRT and is conducive to the safe and stable operation of the power system.

The precision grinding technology of face gear is a key difficulty to its further development. According to study the characteristics of the special grinding generative movement of face gear,the numerical analysis of face gear grinding process is studied based on the software of ABAQUS and taking the residual stress as parameter index. The reliability of grinding simulation is determined through the analysis of simulation process.According to the results of the orthogonal analysis and rule explores,the influence law of the grinding velocity,feed velocity,cutting depth and grain size on the residual stress is obtained. The targeted results have high reliability,and the theoretical basis of grinding wheel selection and grinding parameters chosen for face gear grinding is established.

Background and objective Xuanwei is an area of the highest incidence and mortality with lung cancer in China. The aim of this study is to determine serum selenium concentrations in lung cancer patients from Xuanwei as well as selenium levels of cancerous tissues, cancer-adjacent pulmonary tissues, and normal pulmonary lung tissues from lung cancer patients, and the relationship between selenium and the high incidence of lung cancer in Xuanwei. Methods One hundred and twenty female adults from Xuanwei were enrolled in the study (60 lung cancer patients and 60 with non-tumor and non-respiratory diseases, respectively) and blood samples were collected. Sixty fresh cancerous tissues and their adjacent as well as normal tissues were collected (31 samples from lung cancer patients living in Xuanwei for more than 2 years and 29 from patients in other regions of Yunnan Province outside of Xuanwei, respectively). Serum and tissue selenium concentrations were assayed using a fluorometric method. Results Women with lung cancer had a mean serum selenium value (55.22 μg/L±13.34 μg/L) of averagely 8.47%, significantly lower than that in subjects with non-tumor and non-respiratory disease controls (60.33 μg/L±13.82 μg/L)(P < 0.05). Selenium concentrations in the tumor tissues (0.105 μg/g±0.034 μg/g) were statistically lower than that of normal ones (0.140 μg/g±0.048 μg/g)(P < 0.05) from lung cancer patients in Xuanwei. Statistical differences had not been found between the cases from Xuanwei and non-Xuanwei district, adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, among Stage I, Stage II, stage III groups. Conclusion Lower serum selenium state was negatively related to the incidence of lung cancer in Xuanwei. It was likely that lower selenium level of lung tissues was potential risk factor to lead to lung cancer.

Background and objective Selenium is an essential micronutrient for mammals but toxic in large amounts. Most studies indicate that selenium has inhibitory effect on cancer. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of selenium and reduced glutathione (GSH) combined application on the proliferation and apoptosis of human lung adenocarcinoma cell line XWLC-05. Methods XWLC-05 cells were respectively treated in vitro by four factors (sodium selenite, GSH, sodium selenite+GSH and blank control (RMPI-1640 +10% calf serum) in different concentrations for 24 h. Cell growth inhibition rates were determined by MTT assay, cytomorphology was observed under inverted phase contrast microscope and changes of cell cycle were detected by Flow Cytometry (FCM). Results Both selenium and GSH individual on the XWLC-05 cells were found to possess obvious growth inhibition effect on the XWLC-05 cells. The process of open-pit to underground mining is accompanied by strong rock movement and deformation characteristics, which triggers mining subsidence problems. It is a key research element in the safety management of open-pit to underground mines. Based on FLAC3D numerical simulation method, a mechanical analysis model considering mining disturbance was established in the Beiyi mining area of Shilu Iron Mine in Hainan. The displacement and stress distribution characteristics of surrounding rock, slope rock and surface rock in different mining stages were analyzed. The subsidence mechanism of open-pit to underground mining was revealed according to the change characteristics of the plastic zone and the surface subsidence phenomenon in the field. The results indicated that the maximum tensile stress zone in slope rock mass mainly existed in the stope mining area and slope top area, and continued to expand with the increase of mining depth, which reduced the stability of rock mass. The rock displacement values of the slope at the north and west sides of the open-pit under mining disturbance were relatively small, while the rock displacement values of the eastern part of the south and the east part of Xiaoyingshan area increased significantly with the increase of mining depth. The displacement value increased sharply when the mining depth was from -90 m to -105 m. The plastic zone mainly appeared in the surrounding rock of the mining area, the slope above the east slope and the area behind part of the slope top. The collapse of surrounding rock in the mining area further caused the displacement of rock mass in the caving area and deformation area, and formed mining pit cracks along the edge of the plastic area. Surface tensile cracks were formed by tensile failure in the area behind Xiaoyingshan. The eastern slope landslide was caused by the subsidence of slope toe and the development of rock cracks. On the whole, the mining subsidence under the open-pit to underground working condition exhibits a strong horizontal displacement feature toward the slope prograde direction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To investigate the effect of okadaic acid (OA)-induced phosphorylation of neuron micro-tubule associated protein tau (Tau) on the damage of human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. Methods SH-SY5Y cells were incubated with different concentrations (20 and 40 nmol/L) of OA for 0, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours followed by microscopy for cell morphology.Cell ultrastructure was observed by transmission electron microscope and cell apoptosis was detected by TUNEL assay. The protein expression of p-Tau and caspase3 was analyzed by Western blot and mRNA level of inhibitor of apoptosis family proteins (IAPs) was determined by RT-qPCR. Results OA induced phosphorylation of Tau protein in SH-SY5Y cells as compared to the result from control goup (P＜0.001), promoted cell damage and apoptosis (P＜0.001).OA also injured mitochondrial structure in a concentration and time dependent manner. It can also up-regulate IAPs expression significantly (P＜0.05). Conclusions The aberrant phosphorylation of Tau protein in SH-SY5Y cells induced by OA may lead to cell injury and apoptosis. Inhibition of endogenous apoptotic pathways or up-regulation of IAPs family proteins provides potential targets for AD prevention and treatment.

Based on the monitoring data of five pollutants in 168 key cities under air pollution prevention and control in China from 2015 to 2020, using the MAKESENS model and the aggregate risk index(ARI), this study quantitatively analyzed the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of air pollution and health risks in China and the six urban agglomerations. The results showed that:① PM 2.5 pollution was the most serious pollution in Chinese key cities. Only 15% of the cities' six-year average concentrations of PM 2.5 reached the National Secondary Standard, followed by that of NO 2 ; 77% of the cities' six-year average concentrations of NO 2 reached the National Secondary Standard. The urban agglomerations of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Fenwei plain had the most serious air pollution, and the six-year average concentrations of PM 2.5 , SO 2 , CO, and NO 2 were higher than those of other urban agglomerations. ② The concentrations of PM 2.5 , SO 2 , CO, and NO 2 in key cities of China showed a decreasing trend, whereas the concentration of O 3 in other urban agglomerations showed an increasing trend, except in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration. The concentration of SO 2 in the urban agglomerations of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Fenwei plain changed the most significantly. ③ The health risk of air pollution in the key cities of China generally showed a decreasing trend, with a sharp decline from 2017 to 2018, and the population exposed to extremely high risks dropped from 160 million to 32.54 million. The urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River had the most significant decline in health risks, whereas the key cities in China faced higher health risks in spring and winter seasons. ④ The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Fenwei plain urban agglomerations had the highest health risks, and the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River had the lowest; O 3 gradually replaced PM 2.5 as the main pollutant affecting the health risk. These results can provide a reference for evaluating the effectiveness of urban air pollution control in China during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.

Objective: To explore the mechanism by which ginsenoside 20(S)-Rg3 upregulates the expression of tumor suppressor von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) gene in ovarian cancer cells., Methods: Ovarian cancer cell line SKOV3 treated with 20(S)-Rg3 were examined for mRNA and protein levels of VHL, DNMT1, DNMT3A and DNMT3B by real-time PCR and Western blotting, respectively. The changes in VHL mRNA expression in SKOV3 cells in response to treatment with 5-Aza-CdR, a DNA methyltransferase inhibitor, were detected using real-time PCR. VHL gene promoter methylation was examined with methylation-specific PCR and VHL expression levels were determined with real-time PCR and Western blotting in non-treated or 20(S)-Rg3-treated SKOV3 cells and in 20(S)-Rg3-treated DNMT3A-overexpressing SKOV3 cells. VHL and DNMT3A protein levels were detected by immunohistochemistry in subcutaneous SKOV3 cell xenografts in nude mice., Results: Treatment of SKOV3 cells with 20(S)-Rg3 significantly upregulated VHL and downregulated DNMT3A expressions at both the mRNA and protein levels ( P < 0.05) and upregulated DNMT3B expression only at the mRNA level, but did not cause significant changes in either the mRNA or protein level of DNMT1. Treatment of the cells with 2 and 5 μmol/L 5-Aza-CdR obviously increased VHL mRNA expression by by over 3 folds ( P < 0.05). 20(S)-Rg3 significantly decreased the methylation level in the promoter region of VHL gene, and this effect was abrogated by DNMT3A overexpression in the cells ( P < 0.05). Immunohistochemisty showed a significantly increased VHL expression but a lowered DNMT3A expression in subcutaneous SKOV3 cell xenografts in 20 (S)-Rg3-treated nude mice., Conclusions: Ginsenoside 20(S)-Rg3 upregulates VHL expression in ovarian cancer cells by suppressing DNMT3A-mediated DNA methylation.

Objective: To investigate occupational health status about radiation workers from township hospitals in Gansu, China, and to explore the dose-effect relationship of exposure dose of radiation workers. Methods: A total of 390 X-ray workers from township hospitals in Gansu Province and 450 X-ray workers from the county/district-level hospitals in the county/district where the township hospitals were located were divided into research group and control group. Their workload, radiation protection condition, and occupational health monitoring data were used for impact assessment and risk estimation. Results: The annual workload of radiation workers from township hospitals was 845.33±361.622 people, and that of radiation workers from county/district-level hospitals was 1967.74±762.055 people; there was a significant difference in annual workload between the two groups of subjects ( P <0.05) . Indices such as detection rate of lens opacity, detection rate of abnormal platelet count, red blood cell count, and hemoglobin count, micronucleated lymphocyte rate, and chromosome aberration rate were significantly different between the two groups ( P <0.05) . Conclusion: Radiation workers from township hospitals suffer from certain radiation damage.

This work aims at preparing oil spill sorbent (TCS, Trichoderma viride-modified corn stalk) through solid-state fermentation of corn stalk by Trichoderma viride. Single-factor experiments, including the effect of modification time, solid-liquid ratio of modification and modification temperature, and adsorption experiments simulating oil spill condition, were carried out. The results indicated that the maximum oil adsorption of TCS, 13.84 g x g(-1), could be obtained under the conditions of 6 days of modification, with a solid-liquid ratio of 1:4 and a modification temperature of 25 degrees C. This oil absorption was 110.33% of that of the raw material (RCS, Raw Corn Stalk). Comparing RCS and TCS by means of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD), the results separately showed that TCS had rougher surface, lower cellulose content and higher instability, which explains the increase of oil absorption. Also, the component analysis indicated that bio-modification could reduce the contents of celluloses and hemicelluloses from corn stalk. Besides, sorption kinetics and oil retention performance test showed that, TCS, which could reach adsorption equilibrium after 1 h of 80 r x min(-1) oscillating, had fast oil adsorption rate, and it also had good oil retention performance, which could keep 74. 87% of the initial adsorption rate when trickling 10 min after reaching adsorption equilibrium.

By confronting the opportunity and challenge of integrative Chinese and Western medicine (ICWM), in this paper, a comprehensive retrospective summary and preliminary discussion was given in aspects of the concept, historical background, acquired fruits, existing problems as well as the developing direction in the future and how to carry out academic researches of ICWM.

To study on the active components of Nardostachys chinensis Batal, the compounds were isolated and purified by chromatographic methods, with their structures identified by spectral analysis and comparison with published data. 9 compounds were obtained and their structures were identified as acaciin, ursolie acid, octacosanol, kanshone A, nardosinonediol, nardosinone, aristolen-9beta-ol, oleanolic acid and beta-sitosterol. Acaciin, ursolie acid and octacosanol were obtained from Nardostachys chinensis Batal. for the first time. Acaciin and ursolie are the active components of antihiotics and anti-inflammatory.

Three high efficient hydrocarbon degrading bacteria named HDB-1, HDB-2, HDB-3 were separated from the oil contaminant soil. This paper studied on the cell-surface hydrophobicity of these three bacteria and environment influence factor by MATH,and the results show that the xylene-water two-phase system is suitable for studying the cell-surface hydrophobicity of three bacteria; the cell-surface hydrophobicities of HDB-1, HDB-2 and HDB-3 are respectively 68.8%, 57.4% and 64.1%; the hydrophobicity changed with the difference of cultivation and time,carbon source, temperature and pH value; the removal ratio of 1 000 mg/L oil content for 6 day can reach 91.6%, 64.5% and 79.8%. The hydrophobicity is related definitely with the degradation of the organic pollutant, and the degradation rate of hydrophobic organic by the bacteria of high hydrophobicity is quicker than that by the bacteria of low hydrophobicity.

We have surveyed a population size of 6633315 from Diseases Surveillance Points (DSP) system in Gansu province for the last eleven years. The annual birth rate was 18.20% with an annual standard mortality rate 545.80/10(5). The annual standard mortality for male and female were 607.53/10(5) and 483.29/10(5) respectively. The major causes of death were Respiratory system diseases, Cardiovascular diseases, Neoplasms, Injuries, Digestive system diseases, Pediatric diseases, Infectious diseases in sequence. In eleven years, there seemed to be a rising trend in the mortalities of following diseases as: Cerebrovascular diseases, Ischemic heart diseases, Rheumatic fever and heart disease, Lung Cancer, Liver Cancer, Cancer of the Esophagus, Intestinal cancer, Cervical cancer, Injury, Congenital abnomalities, to different degrees. However, an obvious descending trend on the morbidity and mortality of infectious diseases was moticed. The average life expectancy was 71.05 years in DSP, with male 69.57 years, and female 72.72 years. Diseases with higher PYLL were Injuries, Neoplasms, Respiratory system diseases and the like. Data suggested not only the prevention andcontrol of infectious diseases, but also the surveillance of injuries and the prevention and control of chronic diseases should be strengthened.

395 residents in a wind-sand area were examined with chest radiographs. Silicotic roentgeno- graphic changes were shown in 28 cases. The abnormal finding rate of the > 40 years old age group was 21%. The histological findings of lungs from a camel lived in that area for 20 years also confirmed that the cause of death was silicosis.

36 cases with multiple organ failure (MOF) in a group of 178 severe burn injury patients during 1969-1989 were observed in our department. The rate of occurrence of MOF in this group was 20.2% (36/178). 25 cases out of these 36 patients died, and the mortality rate was 69.5% (25/36). In 10 cases 2 organs were involved, and two patients died; 3 organs were involved in 13 cases and nine of them died; more than 4 organs were affected in 13 cases and all of them died. The relationship between MOF and shock, inhalation injury as well as septicemia was discussed. Although there were many factors which could induce postburn multiple organ failure (PBMOF), the severity of the injury was the most fundamental inducing factor. The severer the burn injury, the higher the morbidity and mortality of PBMOF. Both shock and inhalation injury were important inducing factors in early PBMOF. Wound sepsis and septicemia were major inducing factors in delayed PBMOF. Majority of the delayed PBMOF took place during septicemia. In consideration of the high mortality of PBMOF and lack of effective treatment at present, it is extremely important to prevent severe burn injury patients from developing PBMOF. The measures to prevent PBMOF included: to correct shock adequately as soon as possible, to select the optimal time and appropriate extent of escharotomy and skin grafting, to try our best to ensure complete or near complete take of skin grafts, and to strengthen systemic metabolic support.
