Aiming at the disadvantage that nano ZnO is easy to agglutinate in the process of preparation and use, which will affect its antibacterial performance, experiments are designed to make nano ZnO compound with porous SiO2 in the sol-gel process. Through scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), it can be found that ZnO is well combined on the porous SiO2 skeleton and dispersed evenly. The BET and PL tests show that the specific surface area of composites is improved and the optical properties are enhanced. The difference of antibacterial properties between composites and singlecomponent nano ZnO, and the change of antibacterial properties caused by the change of nano ZnO content in composites are investigated by the colony counting method. Conclusion is proved that the antibacterial properties of nano ZnO and porous SiO2 are greatly improved with the antibacterial rate of more than 99%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new 3D organic-inorganic hybrid solid [Cu4 (SCN)4 (bpp)2]n (1) was obtained via the self-assembly of inorganic ladder-like chains [Cu(SCN)]n with the flexible organic ligands 1,3-di(4-pyridyl) propane (bpp) under solvothermal conditions. It is noted that the bpp ligands show two kinds of conformations (trans-gauche or trans-trans) in the asymmetric unit, which linked by similar staircase-like [Cu(SCN)]n chains to form crystallographically distinct [Cu2 (SCN)2 (bpp)]n layers A and B. Furthermore, two different layers are packed in an offset ABB′A′ pattern to generate unique 3D structure. Compound 1 was further characterized by infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), powder diffraction (PXRD), thermal analysis, solid state diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis) and photoluminescent studies. The solid UV-Vis diffuse-reflectance spectroscopy shows strong absorption spectra in ultraviolet region, and a wide-gap semiconductor with band gap of 3.20 eV. Compound 1 shows different photocatalytic activities for neutral red (NR), methyl orange (MO), azure I (AI), methylene blue (MB) and brilliant blue (ED) degradation under UV-light irradiation, which could be related to the slight charge and size difference of organic dyes. Compound 1 shows strong green photoluminescence at room temperatures with emission peaks at about 525 nm, which may be associated with a ligand-centered excited state with a possible involvement of metal-to-ligand or ligand-to-ligand charge transfer. MoS2 Graphene Tourmaline (MoS2 GR T) composite photocatalyst was prepared via one step hydrothermal method. Raman spectroscopy showed that GO was reduced to graphene. The band gap energies of MoS2 jr MoS2 T and MoS2 GR T samples were 2.01, 1.91 and 1.79 eV, respectively. It improved that the introduction of tourmaline reduced the band gap width. The photocatalytic performance of rhodamine B dye was demonstrated under xenon lamp irradiation. Compared with MoS2 and MoS2 GR, MoS2 Graphene Tourmaline (MoS2 GR T)composites exhibited better photocatalytic degradation activity, and reaching 93. 9% after exposure to 60 min of light. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of M0S2 GR T composite was mainly due to its exposed adsorption photocatalytic active sites, which improve the photo adsorption capacity and charge separation efficiency. The effects of Ag doping and defect coexistence on the photoelectric properties of ZnO were studied by first-principles method. The calculation results indicate that O-rich condition is beneficial to Ag doping, while O-poor condition has an inhibitory effect. When Ag doping concentration is lower, AgZn is dominant doping model under O-rich or O-poor conditions, and the model is more stable. When Ag doping concentration is higher, AgZn-AgZn is dominant doping model under O-rich condition, and that is AgZn-Agi under O-poor condition. Under O-rich condition, it is difficult to introduce the coexistence defect of VZn and Oi by Ag doping. VO is a preferred model under O-poor condition, and it can promote Ag doping to a certain extent. Ag doping reduces the band gap of ZnO. The higher of doping concentration is, the narrower of band gap will be. The defect coexistence of VZn, VO and Oi increase the band gap of Ag doped models. Ag doping and the defect coexistence of VZn, Oi all red shift the absorption edge of ZnO to the visible region, which expands the absorption range of ZnO to sunlight. AgZn-VO is transparent in the visible region. In the low energy region, AgZn-AgZn shows higher optical absorptivity, but the corresponding formation energy is also higher than that of AgZn. VZn improves the optical absorptivity of AgZn-VZn and AgZn-AgZn-VZn in the low energy region. VO is beneficial to the adsorption of O2 by ZnO and can produce more H2O2 and ·HO. La doped Bi2WO6 nanomaterials were synthesized by one step hydrothermal method using Bi(NO3)3·5H2O, Na2WO4·2H2O and La(NO3)3·6H2O as the raw materials. The phase composition and optical property of the as-prepared materials were systematically characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and BET surface area. XRD result reveals that La is doped in Bi2WO6 successfully, and the prepared samples still possess orthorhombic structure. UV-Vis study shows the absorption edge of the prepared samples has a red-shift with the increase of La doping, indicating that La doping can broaden the absorbance range of the La doped Bi2WO6 materials. BET measurement shows that the specific surface area of La doped Bi2WO6 materials is increased with more La doping. In addition, the effect of La doping on the photocatalytic activities of the samples were measured by the degradation of methylene blue (MB). Results show that the best photocatalytic property is found in the 2.0% La doped Bi2WO6 nanomaterial; after 120min of reaction, the degradation rate of MB reaches 91%.

AgBr/TiO2 nanofibers were fabricated by a combination of hydrothermal and electrospinning methods. Ti(OC4 H9)4 / PVP nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning method using Ti(OC4 H9)4, PVP and absolute ethanol as raw materials. TiO2 nanofibers were obtained after calcination at 500 °C to 1 000 °C. AgBr nanoparticles were immobilized on TiO2 nanofibers under hydrothermal condition. AgBr/TiO2 nanofibers were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and differential thermo-thermogravimetric (TG-DTA) analysis respectively. The photocatalytic property of TiO2 and AgBr/TiO2 nanofibers were studied using methyl orange(MO) as degradation substrate to simulate dye waste water. The results indicate that the TiO2 nanofibers with the additive amount of 100 mg have better photocatalytic properties after calcined at 800 °C. The photocatalytic degradation rate of AgBr/TiO2 nanofibers is found to be higher than that of the TiO2 nanofibers under the same conditions. The TmFeO3 nano powder with perovskite type adsorbed on carbon were prepared by hydrothermal method. Their specific surface area, thermal stability, absorption property and physical structure of the crystal were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), thermal gravimetric-differential thermal analyzer(TG-DTA), ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer(UVVis) and gas chromatograph. The photocatalytic properties of TmFeO3 powder was evaluated by degradation of methyl orange using dysprosium lamp as visible light source. The experimental results show that TmFeO3 adsorbed on carbon prepared by hydrothermal method has better crystallinity, higher thermal stability, larger specific surface area, larger visible absorption range and better absorptivity. The experimental results of photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange show that the degradation rate of TmFeO3 adsorbed on carbon methyl orange reaches 88% after light irradiation for 140 min and is 1. 5 times of TmFeO3 prepared by ordinary hydrothermal method. Natural attapulgite was used to decrease the solution of methylene blue under ultraviolet irradiation to explore its photocatalysis and optimize. The functional group structure of natural attapulgite was characterized by XPS and UV-Vis, and then the decolorization rate of methylene blue solution was taken as the response value. Based on the single-factor experiment, the response surface method was used to further explore the photocatalytic influencing factors of natural attapulgite and determine the best experimental conditions. The experimental results showed that there was a small amount of 6-coordination Ti and anatase TiO2 on the surface of natural attapulgite, and the photocatalytic performance was significant. Single factor initial concentration and addition amount, secondary term addition amount, interaction term initial concentration and addition amount had significant effect on decolorization rate of methylene blue solution. The optimal process parameters predicted by the model were as follows: initial concentration 18.90 g/mL, photocatalytic time 16.55 min, dosage 0.04 g and decolorization rate up to 98.95%. The diatomite as the main raw material and TiCl4 as the source of titanium, hydrolytic precipitation method was used to prepare a new type of environmentally friendly material--nano-TiO2/diatomite-based porous ceramsite composite material. Its formaldehyde removal effect in a 1 m³ environmental chamber was tested. The results showed that the composites had good removal effect for formaldehyde under ultraviolet light, and the removal rate of formaldehyde was the highest 97.8% at 120 min. ZnWO4/bamboo charcoal (ZW/BC) photocatalysts were synthesized by the microwave assisted sol-gel method with 5(NH4)2 ⋅ 12WO3 ⋅ 5H2O as the W source,and bamboo charcoal as the support. The structured features of these materials were analyzed by TG,while their morphologies were characterized by SEM and BET. High efficiency for the degradation of Rhodamine B ( RhB ) under both UV light was obtained for the ZW/BC photocatalysts. The results indicated that the composites with 20% (wt) bamboo charcoal sintered in air at 400 °C for 10 min in microwave power 640 W charactered had the better photo-catalytic ability in the UV light. We calculated Fe-N co-doped ZnO crystal geometry, internal electronic structure and optical properties by the first-principle electronic density functional theory as the theoretical basis. From the structure diagram, energy band diagram, and optical absorption curve, we analyzed its geometry, electronic internal structure and the optical property cause. Results showed that ZnO band valence rising after Fe-N co-doping, and forbidden band width became less than pure ZnO. The light absorption curve turned out red shift, improving the visible light utilization rate of the ZnO, by analyzing these graphics.
