Objective To understand the emotional perception and general mental health status of medical students, and explore related influencing factors to promote mental health education for medical students. Methods An on-site questionnaire survey was conducted on 1 037 medical students at Kunming Medical University to describe their overall psychological status. Factors influencing the positive/negative emotions and general mental health of medical students were analyzed through multiple linear regression and logistic regression analysis. Results The average score of positive emotions among medical students on campus was 26.31 ± 6.76), while the average score of negative emotions was 21.50 ± 6.76) . The detection of mental health problems was relatively low 8.58%). Whether only child, academic performance, and self-reported health status P < 0.05) had an impact on positive emotional scores; Gender, self-reported health status, and sleep time had an impact on negative emotional scores P < 0.05) . The prevalence of mental health problems among medical students was influenced by whether they were single child or self-reported health status P < 0.05) . Conclusions Good academic performance can enhance positive emotions, and students with shorter sleep duration and poorer physical health are more likely to perceive negative emotions and experience mental health problems. Universities should pay attention to the psychological status of medical students and take corresponding measures to ensure their physical and mental health to promote medical education. Positivity resonance theory defines the emotion of love as a collective affective state, referred to as positivity resonance, characterized by shared positive affect, caring nonverbal synchrony, and biological synchrony. This study examined whether daily experiences of positivity resonance concurrently and prospectively influence meaning in life (MIL) through the increment of social connection. At time 1 (N = 144), perceived positivity resonance was measured at the trait level, along with MIL and social connection. Next, perceived positivity resonance was assessed at the episodic level via the Day Reconstruction Method across seven days (N = 135). Finally, two follow-up surveys were administered one (N = 113) and two months (N = 99) later. Participants again completed the questionnaires on MIL and social connection. Results suggest that social connection cross-sectionally and longitudinally mediates the links between perceived positivity resonance and MIL. These mediating effects remain statistically significant even after controlling for the individual-level positive and negative affect and amount of social interaction. These findings indicate that momentary experience of love while interacting with others may be an influential way to a meaningful life. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

(1) Background—With the acceleration of the aging process in China, improving the well-being of the elderly has become a key topic of social concern. The elderly people are more inclined to develop tourism activities in the forest environment, which has a positive impact on their well-being. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the factors affecting the well-being of senior tourists. (2) Methods—In this study, restoration experience and positive emotions are used as intermediary variables. Through structural equation modeling and taking Fuzhou National Forest Park as an example, this study explores the mechanism of the impact of the perceived restorative environment of senior tourists on well-being. Bootstrap sampling is used to test whether the mediating effect between restoration experience and positive emotions is significant. (3) Results—The results of standardized parameter estimation of the structural model and the Bootstrap test show that the perceived restorative environment of senior tourists has a significant positive impact on the restoration experience and positive emotions. The standardized path coefficients are 0.406 (p<0. 001) and 0. 234 (p<0.001). This shows that forest tourism has important and positive significance for the construction of psycho-logical resources of senior tourists. The perceived restorative environment of senior tourists has no significant direct impact on well-being (p = 0. 177). The reason for this phenomenon may be that senior tourists have a strong attachment to the park, and have a higher perceived restorative environment. Both restoration experience and positive emotions have a significant positive effect on well-being, and the standardized path coefficients are 0. 593 (p < 0.001) and 0. 253 (p < 0.001). The perceived restorative environment of senior tourists can indirectly affect well-being through the complete mediation of the restoration experience, and the β-value of the mediation effect is 0. 241 (p = 0. 002). In addition, positive emotions also play a completely mediating role in the positive impact of perceived restorative environment on well-being. The β-value of the mediating effect is 0.059 ( p = 0. 014). The study also found that the mediating effect of restoration experience is greater than positive emotions. This may be due to the fact that on the one hand, senior tourists can better control their emotions, thereby maintaining emotional stability; on the other hand, the pursuit of health is the main travel motivation and expectation of senior tourists. (4) Conclusions and Discussions—Based on the above research results, perceived restorative environment has no significant impact on the well-being of senior tourists, but it can indirectly affect well-being through the complete mediation effect of restoration experience and positive emotions. Therefore, in order to improve the well-being of senior tourists, this paper puts forward the following suggestions; First of all, forest parks are expected to improve the quality of tourism environment, to create attractive environment and to improve people's restorative environmental perception. Secondly, forest parks are suggested to provide different types and depth of forest tourism products, to improve the quality of activity experience in order to meet the health recovery needs of senior tourists. 本研究目的企圖透過一套園藝活動方案，探討方案對養護機構之輕、中度失智症長者正向情緒與福祉效益的事實情形及影響，獲取一個初步的理解。研究方法採單一組前／後測之準實驗設計，運用園藝治療方案並結合正向情緒相關理論，以新北市某區養護機構65 歲以上之輕、中度失智症患者為對象，規劃12人接受六週12次的課程，藉以瞭解受試者在「歡樂」、「自信」、「知足」、「樂觀」四個正向情緒的經驗與收獲；研究工具包括：「失智症老人正向情 緒問卷」、「園藝治療福祉效益前後測問卷表」及「觀察紀錄」。本研究結果發現：一、園藝治療方案以提升「知足」情緒效益最佳；二、對失智症老人最具有效益的是「成就感」及「心情放鬆」兩項；三、能促進正向情緒達到正向循環效果；四、參與方案後之輕度失智症長者效益最佳；五、參與活動的失智症老人對生活充滿期待，並增添與子女間之話題。最後，提出對機構實務及未來研究五項建議。整體而言，藉由導入園藝治療方案，有助輕、中度失智 症長者提升正向情緒，因而獲得某種程度的改善；在面對全球罹患失智症者日增的趨勢下，本研究結果特別具有意義與價值。 This research sought to acquire a preliminary understanding regarding the facts and effects of a horticultural therapy program on the emotional well-being of older adults living in care facilities with early or middle-stage dementia. A quasiexperimental design was adopted based on the pretest and posttest results of a single group. Relevant theories regarding positive emotions were incorporated into the horticultural therapy program, which consisted of a 6-week course of 12 sessions for a 12-person group. The subjects were elderly residents at a care facility in New Taipei City aged ≥ 65 years with early or middle-stage dementia. The objective was to understand the feelings and achievements of the program participants regarding four positive emotions: joy, self-confidence, contentment, and optimism. The research instruments were a “Questionnaire on the Positive Emotions of Older Adults with Dementia,” “Questionnaire for Pre- and Posttest on the Benefit and Effectiveness of the Horticultural Therapy Program,” and “Record of Observation.” The results revealed that: (1) The horticultural therapy program was most effective at elevating levels of contentment. (2) For older adults with dementia, the program was most helpful for “creating a sense of achievement” and “relaxing the mind.” (3) The program helped to promote positive emotions and lifestyles. (4) The older adults with early stage dementia benefited the most from attending the program. (5) The older adults with dementia exhibited strong life aspirations and were able to think of more topics to discuss with their children. In summary, introducing the horticultural therapy program helped the older adults with early or middle-stage dementia develop more positive emotions. The findings of this study are particularly valuable given the increasing prevalence of dementia in aging societies.

Prioritizing positivity is a trait that measures the extent to which people deliberately arrange their lives to include frequent, pleasant experiences. Prioritizing positivity predicts life satisfaction and positive emotions, and it also contributes to an individuals' pursuit of happiness. Two studies tested the reliability and validity of the Japanese version of the Prioritizing Positivity Scale (PPS-J). In Study 1, we tested the factorial and construct validity of PPS-J by using data from a web survey conducted with 416 participants. _e results indicated that the PPS-J had a one-factor structure similar to the original version. Moreover, the PPS-J had a positive correlation with life satisfaction and positive emotions, whereas it had a negative correlation with depressive symptoms and negative emotions. In Study 2, we examined the test-retest correlation of the PPS-J with 212 participants. Results indicated a moderate correlation after one month.
