- Abstract
Objective: To investigate the conditions and related factors of postpartum depression of the primipara in n Macau hospital. Methods: The questionnaires were accomplished by 74 primipara selected by the convenient sampling method in Macau hospital. The Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) was used and self-designed questions were set for general information of the primipara. Results: It revealed that the postpartum depression rate of the samples was 13.5%. There was relationship between the age of pregnant mothers and the occurrence rate of postpartum depression. Whereas, there was no significant difference between the occurrence rate of postpartum depression and the issues of cultural background of the primipara, their family incomes, baby's sex and health. Conclusion: Some primipara in Macau has postpartum depression, psychological care of the pregnant mothers should be paid attention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
