The WHO has declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a public health emergency of international concern. Oral pre-examination and triage work is one of the central tasks of epidemic prevention and control in dental medical institutions. This article introduces the development of pre-examination and triage management in the Outpatient Department of Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology in epidemic prevention and control. Based on the experience in diagnosis and management, gradually explore the management of pre-examination and triage that conforms to the characteristics of the dental profession. By clarifying the organization and management of pre-examination and triage work in outpatient clinics, establish pre-examination and triage work systems, job responsibilities, and formulate pre-examination of dental outpatients according to patient risk classification. The primary screening process and the tertiary screening plan, various emergency plans and the treatment process for special patients, strengthen the pre-inspection staff's study of prevention and control policies and regulations, and gradually form the dental clinic pre-examination score Diagnosis management system. At the same time, it is also seen that in the normalization of epidemic prevention and control for several years, the development of oral pre-examination and triage has become more standardized and more information technology has been used to help fight the epidemic. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is an emerging technology for real-time monitoring based on the impedance differences of different tissues and organs in the human body. It has been initially applied in clinical research as well as disease diagnosis and treatment. Lung perfusion refers to the blood flow perfusion function of lung tissue, and the occurrence and development of many diseases are closely related to lung perfusion. Therefore, real-time monitoring of lung perfusion is particularly important. The application and development of EIT further promote the monitoring of lung perfusion, and related research has made great progress. This article reviews the principles of EIT imaging, lung perfusion imaging methods, and their clinical applications in recent years, with the aim of providing assistance to clinical and scientific researchers.

Objectives: Laryngeal cancer (LC) is a globally prevalent and highly lethal tumor. Despite extensive efforts, the underlying mechanisms of LC remain inadequately understood. This study aims to conduct an innovative bioinformatic analysis to identify hub genes that could potentially serve as biomarkers or therapeutic targets in LC., Methods: We acquired a dataset consisting of 117 LC patient samples, 16 746 LC gene RNA sequencing data points, and 9 clinical features from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database in the United States. We employed weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) to construct multiple co-expression gene modules. Subsequently, we assessed the correlations between these co-expression modules and clinical features to validate their associations. We also explored the interplay between modules to identify pivotal genes within disease pathways. Finally, we used the Kaplan-Meier plotter to validate the correlation between enriched genes and LC prognosis., Results: WGCNA analysis led to the creation of a total of 16 co-expression gene modules related to LC. Four of these modules (designated as the yellow, magenta, black, and brown modules) exhibited significant correlations with 3 clinical features: The age of initial pathological diagnosis, cancer status, and pathological N stage. Specifically, the yellow and magenta gene modules displayed negative correlations with the age of pathological diagnosis ( r =-0.23, P <0.05; r =-0.33, P <0.05), while the black and brown gene modules demonstrated negative associations with cancer status ( r =-0.39, P <0.05; r =-0.50, P <0.05). The brown gene module displayed a positive correlation with pathological N stage. Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment analysis identified 77 items, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis identified 30 related signaling pathways, including the calcium signaling pathway, cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, neuro active ligand-receptor interaction, and regulation of lipolysis in adipocytes, etc. Consequently, central genes within these modules that were significantly linked to the overall survival rate of LC patients were identified. Central genes included CHRNB4 , FOXL2 , KCNG1 , LOC440173 , ADAMTS15 , BMP2 , FAP , and KIAA1644 ., Conclusions: This study, utilizing WGCNA and subsequent validation, pinpointed 8 genes with potential as gene biomarkers for LC. These findings offer valuable references for the clinical diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of LC.

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of transient elastography (FibroTouch) in obese children and to investigate the liver characteristics of obese children based on FibroTouch. Methods: Children (5-18 years of age) from the Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center were examined by FibroTouch. The fat attenuation parameter (FAP) was used to assess liver fat deposition, and liver stiffness measurement (LSM) was used to assess liver fibrosis. The children were divided into obesity group ( n= 67) and non-obesity group ( n= 139). The FAP, LSM, and their influencing factors were analysed in the obese group. Results: The total effective rate of FibroTouch in non-sedated children aged 5-18 years ( n= 229) was 97.8%. The FAP value 259.4 (235.9-275.5) dB/m in obese children was significantly higher than that in the control group 178.1 (168.7-195.6) dB/m, ( Z= -10.586, P< 0.001). The LSM value in obese children 5.9 (4.5-7.5) kPa was significantly higher than that in non-obese children 3.2 (2.3-4.1) kPa, ( Z= -8.832, P< 0.001). The proportion of liver fibrosis in obese group was 30%, and that of nonalcoholic fatty liver was 65.7%. Logistic regression analysis showed that BMI percentile (≥ 95%) was an independent factor for significant liver fibrosis ( OR= 1.267, 95% CI: 1.056-1.519, P= 0.011) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease ( OR= 1.248, 95% CI: 1.007-1.546, P= 0.043). Conclusions: FibroTouch can be successfully applied to obese children. Fibrotouch can accurately evaluate the liver fibrosis and fat attenuation parameters in obese children. Obese children have higher FAP and LSM, which increase the risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver and liver fibrosis.

Summary To study the clinical features, diagnosis and treatments of tuberculous otomastoiditis. One case is reported and literatures are reviewed. In this report, the specimen of the middle ear revealed the presence of acid fast bacilli（AFB）, grew mycobacterium tuberculosis on a culture. Lung CT scans demonstrated tuberculosis. After anti-tuberculosis therapy, the symptoms disappeared and did not recur in 3 years. Hydrotympanum can be the early symptom of tuberculous otomastoiditis. Objective: The aim of this study is to explore the effects of autophagy on the metastasis of the Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck (SCCHN) via epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) induced by TGF-β1. Method: Establish the EMT model induced by TGF-β1 in the SCCHN in time/concentration, and the expression of autophagy related protein microtubule associated protein 1 light chain3 (LC3) detected by western blot; Autophagy inhibitor chloroquine (CQ), depressing autophagy, the expression of E-cadherin, cytokeratin, Vimentin and LC3 were examined by Western blot. Wound healing and Transwell invasion assay indicate the effects to metastasis for SCCHN. Result: Autophagy was activated within TGF-β1 induced EMT model in the SCCHN in time/concentration dependently. After autophagy was suppressed, the expression of E-cadherin and cytokeratin increased while vimentin and the capacity of metastasis was reduced compared with control group. Conclusion: TGF-β1 induce EMT and Autophagy in the SCCHN. As a widely recognized public health problem as well as prevalent and challenging to modern society, chronic insomnia is involved in wide brain areas (such as prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex, amygdala, hippocampus, and thalamus) and emotion-cognition neuro-circuit. It is closely related to the conditioned hyperarousal and the increased information process and/or the impaired inhibitory ability to withdraw from awaking state. Thus, some specific abnormal mode may exist in the emotion-cognition circuit, which is associated with abnormal cognition load, such as repeated retrieval/intrusion of aversive memories during night. Studies through the combination of multiple techniques including psychology, electrophysiology and neuroimaging methods are needed to further enhance the understanding of chronic insomnia.

The effect of crystallization of hydroxyapatite on the secondary structure of bovine serum albumin (BSA) was studied by circular dichroism spectrum, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, derivative, deconvolution and curve-fitting techniques in the present paper. The CD results show that pure bovine serum albumin is composed of 56.8% alpha-helices, 5.8% beta-sheets, 14.1% beta-turns and 23.9% random structures, while the bovine serum albumin in the Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2/bovine serum albumin solution is composed of 25.4% alpha-helices, 25.0% beta-sheets, 20.0% beta-turns and 29.7% random structures. The results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy are in good agreement with those from the CD spectra. From these results it can be seen that the percentage of alpha-helix decreased, while that of the beta-sheet increased with the formation of the crystal of hydroxyapatite, and with the reaction time increasing, the percentages of alpha-helix obviously dropped and those of beta-sheet markedly rose. These results showed that alpha-helix transformed into beta-sheet. Furthermore the essence of these changes is discussed.

This newly-emerging field uses tissue-specific cells in a three-dimensional organization, provided by a scaffolding material, to return functionality of the organ. For these applications, the choice of scaffolding material is crucial to the success of the technique. In addition to the chemical properties of the material, physical properties such as surface area for cell attachment are essential. Various methods of creating pores in these materials to increase surface area are reviewed here. Scaffolds formed using the different techniques, which include fiber bonding, solvent casting/particulate leaching, gas foaming and phase separation, are compared on the basis of porosity, pore size, and promotion of tissue growth.

Serum triglycerides, cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and apolipoproteins (apo) AI, B100. CI and CII were determined and analyzed in 72 apoplectic patients and 64 age-matched normal subjects. Significantly increased triglycerides, low HDL-C and slightly decreased cholesterol levels were found in the apoplectics. Apo AI was slightly decreased and apo B100 slightly increased in the apoplectics compared with normal subjects. Apo CI and CII levels were significantly decreased in the apoplectics. The results are discussed.
